Namjoon and Seokjin (apple slices and mac and cheese)
Seokjin woke up with a pang of hunger. The pit of his stomach felt heavy, and when he rolled over an acute pain spring up in his abdomen. He got up, careful not to wake up Yoongi who was curled around one of Seokjin’s spare pillows and stumbled out of bed.
His stomach gave a twist, rumbling loudly. Yeah, he was hungry. But for what? He didn’t really know what he wanted to eat, everything that he thought about eating put a bad taste in his mouth.
Ugh. This was the worst. He walked into the kitchen, flexing his fingers and curling them into fists to stim. He looked through the cupboards. There were tons of things for him to eat, but he wanted nothing to do with them.
“Jin-hyung?”
He turned to see Namjoon sleepily standing at the island a few feet from him. He was holding his phone, but it wasn’t on.
“Hey, Namjoon-ah,” Seokjin whispered sleepily, “did I wake you up?” He looked at the electric clock above the stove.
Five AM.
Shit.
“You didn’t,” Namjoon assured him, walking closer, “I was hungry. Yoongi-hyung and I were in the studio all last night.”
“Again?” Seokjin asked, “you do that so often. You make me worry.”
Namjoon quirked his lips into a sleepy smile, “you don’t need to worry about me, hyung,” he said, “would you like some help finding something to eat?”
Seokjin hummed, “sure,” he said, “nothing looks good to me. Like, every time I think about eating something, it puts a bad taste in my stomach.”
Namjoon frowned, “I know that feeling,” he said, brushing up against Seokjin carefully and reaching around him. He grabbed a box of some of that slightly gross American instant mac and cheese and examined it.
“This?” He asked.
Seokjin looked at it. The bright orange on the dark blue made his stomach turn. He shook his head, just barely keeping down a gag.
Namjoon hummed, turning to the small basket of fruit and pulled out an orange. He handed it to Seokjin.
The orange was light in his hand. He lifted it to his nose and gave a curious sniff. Oh, this was okay.
He peeled it slowly while Namjoon started the pot of water.
“Do you think you can eat anything else today?” Namjoon asked, pouring in the pasta into the pot. The water bubbled loudly, and Seokjin tilted his head to the side to press on one of his ears with his shoulder.
“No,” Seokjin said, “I don’t think so,” he popped one of the orange slices into his mouth, sucking the juice out of it before he chewed on it.
Namjoon hummed, “that’s fine. I’ll just make sure that you eat some meat. Maybe Jungkook will want to go with you to get some lamb skewers.”
Yeah...Lamb skewers sounded okay.
He nodded, “that’s okay,” he mumbled, “thank you, Namjoonie.” He pressed a kiss to the side of his face as Namjoon emptied the pasta into a colander and starting to put in some milk and the powdered cheese.
“You know I’m always here to help you. Now, come on. Eat some more. We have practice today and I want you to have enough energy to last through the day.”
Seokjin snorted and swatted him, “shut up brat,” he mumbled. He grabbed another orange and started to peel it.
Days like this were hard, but it wasn’t the end of the world.
