Summary:

You take Natasha to Disneyland as a surprise, but it turns out she has a surprise for you too.

Notes:

I'm really disappointed with how this turned out, so I'm sorry...

Work Text:

"Hey babe, let's take a picture." You tugged on Nat's hand, pulling her close to you. Her short red hair moved with the wand, blowing strands into her face, and she tried desperately to get them out of her face. It looked adorable. You chuckled. "Here," you said, stepping in front of her, "let me help you." You carefully brushed the hair out of her face, caressing her cheek and pecking her lips. "Now I want to take a selfie."

Nat chuckled as you pulled her with you, to a more secluded corner. There were no Disney figures or princesses here, and you could calmly take a picture of yourselves. You pressed your lips to her cheek, closing your eyes, and she repeated the gesture for the next picture.

"Oh my god!" Someone squealed, and you looked up, lowering your phone. In front of you stood one of the Disney princesses (Belle, your mind told you). You scanned her body quickly, and then came to the conclusion she wasn't dangerous. "You two are adorable!" She said, stepping closer. "Aren't you Y/N and Natasha? The ones of the Avengers? My daughter loves you, and she'd love to have an autograph."

You cleared your throat. "We are, yeah. But we would appreciate it if you wouldn't tell anyone." The princess nodded. "Right! Here," she pressed a crumpled paper in your hand, with a pen, and you quickly signed it, with the words 'Believe in yourself' under it. Nat took the pen from you and signed it too, then handing it back to the princess.

"Great!" The woman exclaimed. "Thank you!" She quickly walked away, to crouch down in front of a small girl. You smiled softly, turning to Nat. "Let's explore the park."

Nat had never been to Disneyworld before. You supposed she didn't have much time for that anyways, and so you decided to get a few days off to go to Orlando and visit the amusement park. She was pleasantly surprised when you proposed the idea, and immediately suggested to take a few of the others with you. She didn't want to leave the others out.

You wanted to spend some time with your girlfriend, so luckily, everyone politely declined. They had to take up all the work from Dragonfly and Black Widow, and had their hands full while you were away.

The day was spent with laughter, pecking each other's lips and eating cotton candy and other sweet things. It had been years since you'd been in Disneyworld, and you indulged in it like Nat did. You had never seen her this happy before out in public, and you decided to not take it for granted. You snapped a lot of pictures of her when she wasn't looking - even though you suspected that she knew you were doing this - and you even managed to snap two while she looked at you.

She looked radiant, twirling around in the sunlight, and it made you so happy seeing her like this. You wanted it to last forever. You wanted to make her this happy for eternity.

The two of you were exhausted by the time you reached the hotel, and you stumbled into the large bedroom, dropping all your stuff on the floor.

"God," you groaned, your face hitting the soft pillow as you jumped on the bed, "I'm dead. Compared to this, our mission are easy!" Nat huffed out a laugh as she helped you sit up.

"Let's take a hot bath," she whispered, "and then we can go to sleep. Alright?"

You nodded, a bit too tired to move yourself, as she slowly helped you out of your clothes. The silence between the two of you was nice and comforting, and you held Nat's hand tightly as you walked to the bathroom, where she prepared the bath quickly.

You let out a moan as you slipped into the water, and you put your head against the wall, closing your eyes as the hot water enveloped your body.

Nat walked in, her soft footsteps coming towards you. You looked up, and saw that she was carrying a bowl with candies.

"What are those for?" You asked, a bit curious. She smiled. "I got hungry. Scoot over, so I can sit behind you."

You did, and she slowly sunk into the bath behind you. Her warm body against your back felt reassuring, and you reached to the back so squeeze her hand as you leaned into her.

You sighed happily, already drifting off to sleep, when Nat pressed a gummy bear to your lips. You smiled, and let her put it on your tongue.

"I love you," Nat sighed, and you pushed yourself up, turning so you could look at her. She was smiling at you, her eyes filled with such love that it warmed your heart. "I love you so fucking much, Y/N," she said, pushing a strand of your hair behind your ear. "It scares me a bit sometimes."

You placed a hand on her cheek. "I love you too, Nat," you whispered, scooting closer to press a languid kiss on her lips.

You grabbed another candy, and your hand came up with a candy ring. You smiled and put it around your ring finger.

You held your hand up, admiring it. The candy ring looked good around your finger. "You look good with a ring like that," Nat hummed, reaching into the bowl and taking something you couldn't see. You didn't pay attention to it, though.

Her hand took yours, and her warm fingers covered your own.

"Do you remember Bulgaria?" She asked, and you chuckled. "Of course I do!" You said cheerfully. You and Nat had to go on a mission as a married couple, investigating a drug lord that ran a hotel. There were suspicions that he had connections to HYDRA. It turned out to be your official coupling, because after that, the two of you fell right back into the pattern of being a couple.

She hummed happily, and then you felt something cold around your finger.

Your eyes grew wide with understanding.

"I'd like to do it for real now," she mumbled, her gaze locked on your lips. She let your hand go and you pulled it up, admiring the simple ring. "So," she said, "will you marry me?"

You looked back at her and laughed. Then you lunged forward, and wrapped your arms around her.

"Of course! Of course I'll marry you!"
