Chapter Text
Kacchan is running with a knife.
That's the first red flag that rose from little five year old Iyasu's head, but she didn't paid any attention to it. Kacchan always pull dangerous stuff like this, Auntie Mitsuki would probably take it away from him and yell at him. So, Iyasu continued on to her business.
The second red flag is that Auntie Mitsuki isn't taking the knife from Kacchan.
The third red flag is Kacchan's sudden yelp. Iyasu turned around and saw Kacchan on the ground, probably tripped. The knife sliced Kacchan's wrist open and blood was oozing out, like water behind a broken dam. The knife was next to Kacchan, stained bright red like Kacchan's eyes.
"O-ow," Kacchan whimpers. He grips his hands tightly as blood bursts out, his face contorted with pain. Tears streamed down his face. "I-it hurts. It hurts bad, make it stop. Make it stop!"
Iyasu is confused. Kacchan doesn't cry. He's not the type to cry, not the type to say 'ow'. Kacchan continues wailing, his hand bleeding continuously despite Kacchan putting pressure on it.
"Kacchan, what's wrong?" Iyasu asks worriedly. "What happened, why are you bleeding!?"
"It hurts!" Kacchan shrieks in a panicking tone. He wailed and screams, his whole body shaking harder than a leaf in a windy winter's day. His tears kept coming.
"KACCHAN!" Iyasu screams when Kacchan just falls down, like he's sleeping or something. But it's broad daylight and in the middle of the day, why would Kacchan be tired? "MOMMY! DADDY!"
The next day, Kacchan didn't come to school. Iyasu was very worried when she saw Kacchan's desk empty. Iyasu never felt so useless. She visits Kacchan after school was out.
"Kacchan?" Iyasu knocks on Kacchan's bedroom door hesitantly. Auntie had told her that he'll be in his room.
"What." Kacchan's voice spat out. Kacchan's voice sounds so tired, it doesn't contain the usual anger he always have.
"Let me in, Kacchan," Iyasu pleads with him, "please, Kacchan."
Kacchan stubbornly kept the door shut so Iyasu stubbornly pleaded with him. Finally, Kacchan opened the door with a growl.
Iyasu saw his hand, the hurt hand, was covered in bandages. She blurts out the first thing that comes to mind: "Does it hurt?"
"No, I'm super strong! This is nothing!" Kacchan brags. Iyasu sighs inside her head. She could clearly tell it wasn't nothing, especially with how loud Kacchan had screamed the night before. She didn't say anything out loud though. "Look,"
Before Iyasu could react, Kacchan carefully pulled the bandages down to show an ugly red scar about the same size as his pinky. Its edges were brown, slowly scabbing. The wound looks so bad, so big, so bloody, Iyasu almost cried.
"I look like I just got in a fight with a dragon and winned," Kacchan told her smugly. His hands twitched and he refrained himself from scratching the annoying scar. "I be you wish you were this cool."
Iyasu didn't reply. Instead, she carefully took Kacchan's scarred hand and pressed her lips to the scar softly. "Mama always said that kissing a ouchie will make it better," Iyasu explains, choosing to ignore Kacchan's suddenly red face as he screeched like a chicken who got its head cut off.
Kacchan stopped screaming and looked at his hand in confusion. He doesn't feel the slight pain, the annoying itching anymore. To his absolute shock, the scar is slowly going smaller and smaller. Soon, there's no more scar on his hand, nothing at all. Not even a tiny mark.
"W-what? What happened to my battle scar?"
Iyasu Midoriya has an extraordinary healing quirk.
With a simple kiss, she can heal wounds and injuries to their original state, if not better. No matter how fatal, whether it's a small cut or a life threatening wound, she can heal it. A person who got in a car accident, if kissed by Midoriya, will be healed so perfectly that you wouldn't know if they're been in an accident.
There doesn't seem to be any time limit on her quirk. Iyasu likes to visit hospitals and give everyone kisses, instantly healing them. Whether her patients have broken bones or life threatening diseases, she heals them up with a kiss and only the small charge of a hug. Doctors and nurses love her, though she can't be shown in public since it's kinda illegal to use your quirk without a license. The doctors value their patient's lives over some dumb law that doesn't even really protect anything or anyone, so they covered Iyasu up for her.
Iyasu loves her quirk. She is just like Recovery Girl! (Except her quirk don't draw energy from her patients like Recovery Girl) She can save anyone and be the hero that kisses everyone to safety! With her as a hero, the hero workplace would be so much safer! Iyasu will help everyone so they don't have to pay big hospital bills!
Bakugou basically latches on to her, saying her healing quirk and his explosion will make them the best hero duo. Iyasu doesn't want Bakugou to leave her by herself, so she agrees. With Iyasu by his side, Bakugou freely uses his quirk when the teachers aren't looking. Iyasu would patch up anyone who got hurt. Except furniture, so Bakugou is still careful about that.
Iyasu's mom told her that her quirk is similar to her father's. Iyasu would nod and ask more questions about her father.
Her mother would then tell her the same story, the one Iyasu knows from heart. Iyasu's father was a doctor. His quirk allows him to heal any injuries, the drawback was that he gets half the pain. When Iyasu was nine, a patient was quickly rushed in the hospital. It was an emergency, a fatal one. The patient had so many injuries and the doctors could do nothing to help. Then Iyasu's father bravely pushed the limits of his quirk to give him over half of the patient's pain and injury. Being less fatally close to death, the patient was treated and was saved. By then, Iyasu's father couldn't bare the pain anymore and passed out. A few days later, he flat lined in one of the hospital rooms.
Despite hearing the story over and over, it didn't fail to bring tears to Iyasu. She loves her father with all her heart, and her world fell apart when she learned of his death.
“Don't worry mom. I'll become a hero who saves everyone with a kiss! I will make father proud and carry on the Medical Midoriya line!” Iyasu smiles at her mom.
Her mom laughs back though she still have tears in her eyes. “Okay, honey.” She agrees. “Be the next Dr. Midoriya with pride.”
“I'll be… Kiss! The Healer Hero!”
Her mom gave another watery laugh. She don't doubt her daughter a bit.
“Do you think you'll present as an alpha?” Iyasu asks innocently one day during middle school lunch.
Bakugou nearly choked on his sandwich, very offended that Midoriya would even doubt his alpha-ness. He angrily growled, “Of course I'll be one, you stupid Deku! Why wouldn't I be? Do you think I'll be some weak ass beta or omega ?”
Iyasu shrugs. She picked at her food, not really eating it. “Dunno. Just wondering.”
Bakugou rolled his eyes. “I'll be the best damn alpha ever and you'll be my omega sidekick! We'll be the best damn duo ever around!”
Iyasu nods to appeal to his daydream but paused at the end. “E-eh? Who said anything about me being an omega?”
“Because it only makes sense!” Bakugou sneers. “You're a stupid Deku who's weak and submissive! That's why you're always following me like some lost dog.”
Iyasu frowns, her brows digging. She glanced at her friend with her bright emerald eyes. She opened her mouth to talk but thought against it, and instead popped a sushi roll in her mouth. She didn't mention to Bakugou that he's the one attached to her, not the other way around. Oh well.
“Why aren't you saying anything back, useless Deku?” Bakugou growled impatiently.
“Kacchan, would you be okay with me being an omega?” Iyasu asks, ignoring his question. She started to play with her food again as she anxiously waits for her childhood friend's reply. She sneaked a peek at Bakugou's crimson red eyes.
“Of course, you dummy.” Bakugou snorts as if the answer is obvious. “We'll be the best damn alpha and omega duo heroes ever! I'll protect you and you'll heal me so I can protect you more! It's so efficient not even you can mess it up!”
Midoriya's heart pounded harder at the thought. The best hero duo, huh? Kacchan protecting her over and over again? That's actually kind of sweet of Bakugou to admit to her.
“S-shut your stupid tree looking face up!” Bakugou suddenly roared, his face as red as his eyes. He didn't look at Iyasu in the eyes. “I'm not sweet, and if you ever call me that again, I'll kick your ass so hard even your quirk won't save you!”
Oops. Did she say that out loud? Ugh, Iyasu really needs to stop talking out loud.
“Sorry, Kacchan. If you don't want that, I'll go with Hiirochan instead.” Iyasu teases, bringing up an old friend who moved away.
Before Bakugou could blow anything up, the lunch bell rang, indicating that lunch was over. Iyasu leaped out of her seat and neatly picked after herself in a practiced manner.
“GET BACK HERE, DUMB DEKU!” Bakugou roared as he chased her. “HOW DARE YOU EVEN MENTION THAT DUMB, WEAK ASS BETA LOSER!”
Iyasu only laughs in reply as she ran to her class with Bakugou screaming after her. At least she can heal whatever injury Bakugou might land on her.
The teacher was yelling at Bakugou for his inappropriate usage of his quirk. Iyasu sat down in her seat with a giant smile gracing her face.
Bakugou is already staring at her with malice in his eyes, though Iyasu knows that he wouldn't hurt her at all. Besides, she can always heal herself.
“You're such a giant dumb idiotic loser,” Bakugou says to her once school is over. “I can't believe how stupid you are.”
Iyasu giggles at his childish tone. Instead of getting mad, Bakugou reluctantly accepts her laughter.
“Sorry, Kacchan.” Iyasu answers cheekily. “You were just so brave and sweet, talking like that! My big, strong alpha~” She croons to stroke his giant ego.
Bakugou rolled his eyes but smirked. “Damn right I'm yours.”
Iyasu blinked at his response. She tilts her head in confusion at his choice of words but decided not to say anything.
The two walked home together, Iyasu talking excitedly about Mount Lady, the new hero, debuting today. Bakugou grunts every now and then to show that he's listening to her.
It is a normal routine, a peaceful habit they fallen into and can't seem to get back out. Not that either of them wants to anyway. The short 15 minute walk from home to school and vice versa is the only time they talk without Bakugou yelling every five second. Okay, who is the author kidding. Every two second. One? A millisecond?
Iyasu stops talking abruptly. Bakugou looks at her in confusion and annoyance.
“What, another squirrel?” He teases.
Iyasu huffs and folded her arms across her chest. “No, I thought I heard something.
“Probably heard another dumb squirrel.” Bakugou dismisses and kept on walking. Iyasu followed him hesitantly, looking back ever so often.
Her grip on her back pack strap tightens. Her instincts are screaming at her, though she don't know why. Bakugou seem to notice it too, since the proud smirk is wiped off his face and instead replaced by a anxious one.
Iyasu yelps in surprise when the ground starts rumbling. She grabs Bakugou out of reflexes. Bakugou held her tight.
“W-wha-! T-the f-fu-” Bakugou's voice wavers as the rumbling grew stronger. Iyasu screams louder when something suddenly shot out of the sewer lid.
It's a- a blob ! Some type of moving blob thing with giant evilly glinting eyes.
“Oh? Two nice human right here for me?” The thing spoke . It can speak ! It sounds like a male, like someone trying to speak while they're laughing breathlessly. Except this slime monster thing isn't laughing at all. “I'll pick the pretty lady. Don't worry, I won't hurt you-- at least not for long!”
Then the slime monster starts moving towards her at alarming fast speed. Iyasu is frozen, scared and shocked.
“Don't fucking touch her!” Bakugou shook himself out of his shock and yelled at the slime thing. His hands popped tiny explosions as a warning. “GET OUTTA HERE, YOU UGLY ASS SLIME FUCKER!”
The slime thing simply laughs, though it sounds distorted. “And are you her boyfriend or something? Oh well, I guess if you won't let me use her, I'll use you!” It came forward again, surprisingly quick, so quirk that Bakugou barely has time to think. Bakugou readies his hand, about to explode the heck out of the slime being.
“Kacchan!” Iyasu yells in his ears. She shoved him out the path of the slime monster and ducked the other direction.
Bakugou scowls. “What the fuck!? I could've destroyed him and save you, you idiot!”
Iyasu shook her head. Her eyes remained on the slime, watching its every moves. “N-no. He- it's too fast for you. You'll get h-hurt.”
The slime thing laughs weirdly again. “Oho, you're a smart one. If only you're as strong!” It lunges towards Iyasu, aiming for her left side. Iyasu instinctively dodges to the right, rolling on the pavement harshly.
“I SAID DON'T TOUCH HER!” Bakugou screeches. He hurls an explosion blindly at the slime thing, narrowly missing Iyasu but not bits of her uniform.
Fed up, the slime growls impatiently. “You tiny, puny children really think you can stop me, huh? And little girl- stop moving so damn much! I just wanna use you for a bit, that's all.”
Iyasu dodges it again just as Bakugou launched a more precise explosion at the monster. The explosion did nothing, merely reshape the slime before it regained its usual shape.
As she kept dodging, Iyasu tried to meet Bakugou's eyes. She tried to secretly point at her eyes and then back at the slime monster. A small signal of the slime’s weakness.
Bakugou knew what to do.
As he readied another explosion- this time targeting the slime's eyes- the ground rumbled again.
“Do not fear!”
A familiar voice rang out from the sewers, just where the slime monster had came from.
“Why?”
Bakugou couldn't help but let his awe show. No way--
Iyasu is freaking out. She knows that voice, so many times, that line repeated over and over again in a continuous loop ever since her childhood.
The slime was surprised for a moment but knew it has to act quickly before it misses its chance.
“I am here!”
Instantly, the air is charged with an alpha's dominating scent. Even though it isn't directed at her, Iyasu felt as if she's choking in the thick scent. It's so overpowering, it's wrapping around her scent glands, she needs to submit to the angry alpha, she can't handle the scent at all.
‘It's not directed at me, it's not directed at me, it's not !’
Her knees buckled slight and she could see Kacchan faring badly as well in the corners of her eyes.
Despite that, Iyasu drops her jaw in awe and excitement. Then in surprise and pain when she felt the slime getting ahold of her body. Oh no, she got distracted! The slime slithers around her body like a snake, twisting Iyasu as she yelps in pain.
“Don't worry, little girl. It'll only hurt for a bit. About forty five seconds.” The slime monster whispered in her ears. He seems to be unaffected by All Might's strong alpha scent. How is that possible? Iyasu, who haven't even presented yet, is buckling her knees from All Might. Yet the slime is unaffected?
The slime squeezes her tighter, constricting her body. Iyasu let out a choke as she desperately clawed at the slime to no avail. The slime is going into her body through her mouth, squeezing itself into her. Iyasu felt her heart pounding faster than ever, her lungs barely holding air, her mouth stretched to its limits as the slime thing kept going inside her . She's going to die- she's going to die- she's going to--
“LET HER GO!”
“TEXAS SMASH!”
That's all Iyasu remembered before she passed out from lack of air.
“Hey,”
Ugh, someone is lightly slapping her. Iyasu felt some faint slap, slap, slap .
“D-Deku, wake up!”
Slap, slap, slap.
“Hey,”
Slap, slap, slap.
“Why isn't she getting up!?”
Slap, slap, slap.
“...She’ll be alright…”
Slap, slap, sl--
Iyasu opened her eyes and sat up with a gasp. She then started to cough violently, tears streaming down her face and her usually messy hair even messier. Her hands flail around, not knowing what to do.
“Deku!” Bakugou yelled, sounding relieved. He hugged her gently, careful of her breathing. “You idiot! You gave me a heart attack, geez!”
“A-a- ALL MIGHT!?” Iyasu shrieks as she stared at the tall muscled form in front of her.
“YOU DAMN NERD, YOU ALMOST DIED AND ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS ALL MIGHT?” Bakugou yelled as he shook her back and forth. Iyasu paid him no attention.
All Might laughs nervously. He released some calming scents to appease the two. “Haha! I must apologize! I got wrapped up in villain clean up! I'm not always like this, must be the new setting! Are you alright, young lady?”
Iyasu nods viciously. She look around her notebook and scrambled up to All Might. “Y-yes! C-can you sign my- AH! IT'S ALREADY BEEN SIGNED? THANK YOU, ALL MIGHT SIR! I'LL TREASURE IT AS A FAMILY HEIRLOOM!”
All Might laughs. Bakugou scowls at her for being so damn embarrassing even after almost dying. Damn nerd.
“If you two are hurt, please visit the hospital. I got to get going now, need to turn this guy in to the authorities! Next time we meet, it'll be through a TV screen!” All Might starts walking away and then crouched down. “Until then, be sure to keep cheering me on!”
All Might flew into the air and away. His giant form got smaller and smaller until he is just another glint in the sky. Iyasu felt as if everything's a dream. A wonderfully blissful, amazing dream where nothing bad happened at all and everything's all good and chocolately.
She looked at Bakugou next to her, who was still closely hugging her tight. She awkwardly pets his shoulders.
“You dumb Deku…” Bakugou spoke up after an awkward pause. His voice is unsteady and cracking, so unlike the yells she's used to. “Don't scare me like that! I, I thought you died or something…I was ready to explode All Might himself.”
Iyasu is stunned. “I-... sorry… I got distracted.”
Bakugou said nothing. They kept their position, Iyasu sitting on the ground with her hands holding Bakugou's shoulders and Bakugou gripping her tighter every time her breath slowed, until Bakugou let go.
Iyasu is shocked, for like the hundredth time. Today is a weird day, to say the least.
“Are you hurt?” Iyasu asks as she tried to break the tension. Her eyes swept across Bakugou's body. Ripped uniform, dirt on his face, and hands red from his explosions. “Do your hands hurt? Gimme them.”
Bakugou, although a bit hesitant, allows Iyasu to press a light kiss on his palm. Immediately the annoying itching went away and Bakugou accidentally breathed a sigh of relief. Iyasu kissed his other palm.
“Anywhere else?”
Bakugou thought for a moment, his red eyes calculating and thinking hard, before he nodded. He jerked his thumb towards his left cheek. He didn't look at Iyasu in the face at all as his own face steadily turns redder than a ripe cherry.
Iyasu smiled and leaned forward to kiss his left cheek. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like he hurt his cheek at all. Maybe Bakugou wants a kiss from her?
“Don't look like that, you dumb loser! You pushed my face on the ground!” Bakugou snaps rather defensively. He crossed his arms.
Iyasu blinks and shrugs. Instead, she focuses in her own problems and kissed them away. Literally.
Then she looked at her notebook, turning the pages gingerly until she gets to the part where All Might autographed it. She lets out a small, excited squeal. All Might signed her notebook! And held her as she was blacked out! And saved them from the slime creep! Wow, he's so amazing! Iyasu wishes she didn't black out so quick, maybe she could've seen All Might in battle and his Texas Smash. Well, she already seen him in battles but it's always through screens! She wants to see him in real life, and his signature move in real life.
“Damn it, Deku! Shut up! I can hear your nerdy muttering!”
Iyasu promptly shut up.
“Well?” Bakugou snapped. He held her back pack in one hand, his own in his shoulder. Bakugou's hands are stretched, offering help to Iyasu. “Are you just going to sit there like a dumb Deku? We have to go home, idiot!”
Iyasu gladly took his hand and pulled herself up. She slightly winced at her legs. Damn. Her legs were asleep and now she can't walk properly without waking them up. And Midoriya's legs are heavy sleepers.
Bakugou noted her slow, limped walking and growled in annoyance. He let go of their still clasped hands and put Iyasu's backpack on his back. Then Bakugou, the explosive teen with anger issues and an explosion quirk who always think he's better than everyone else, put one hand underneath Iyasu's legs and another across her back.
Then he carried her bridal style. Bakugou Katsuki. Carrying Iyasu of all people. Bridal style. And Midoriya immediately out her hands around his neck from instinct. AND BAKUGOU DOESN'T SEEM TO MIND AT ALL?? Um, did the slime creep take over Bakugou or something? Despite her surprise, Iyasu didn't let go.
Iyasu is internally freaking out. Her big, expressive emerald eyes are as wide as possible and her mouth hang open in unmasked surprise.
Bakugou noticed her expression and sneered. “Dumb Deku. You're supposed to be the healer yet you're so weak. You gotta train extra hard to even be considered a weak sidekick. Tch. Typical dumb, omega Deku.”
Nice moment ruined. Iyasu told herself not to cry, that Bakugou is always like this and probably doesn't really mean it, and that-- oh, who is she kidding? Bakugou is always like this, of course he means it! He thinks of her as an omega even before she presents.
Iyasu stay silent as they, well, as Bakugou walked to her house.
Iyasu's mom was deeply surprised and shocked to see her daughter, with battered and ripped school uniform, in the hands of Bakugou whose uniform is also in the same state. After making sure he's all right and uninjured, Iyasu's mom let Bakugou go home though she thanked him for taking care of Iyasu. Bakugou grunted but politely bowed to Iyasu's mom, though a bit stiff.
Despite having Katsudon later that night, Iyasu is off put.
Now that things are tame now, her mind reminded her of something from the slime incident which she forgot due to Bakugou being Prince Charming.
There's something wrong with All Might. And she's 100% sure of it. She don't know how she know, maybe his released scents are weird or abnormal? , but she is very sure of it. All Might is suffering from something, an old wound that is affecting the hero badly.
