Chapter Text
25 - "What the hell were you thinking?!"
83 - "Just breathe, okay?"
Of all the things you expected to happen to you today, someone chucking your phone charm out of a window wasn't one of them. You barely understood his monologue, but it definitely had something to do with Jun, as he yanked the innocent little charm off your phone and threw it out the window.
You were half-tempted to call him back and ask what the hell he was talking about, but you talked yourself down as he stomped away. Sighing, you braced yourself against the window to see how far you'd have to grab it. You and Jun had plans to eat lunch together, and you hadn't had that much time to see him lately. This definitely wasn't something you wanted to be late for, but you also didn't want to just leave your charm in the tree. So, you leaned out of the window as far as you could, stretching out your body enough that one of your feet ended up lifting with you. Just as your fingers reached your goal, your other foot slipped out from under you.
Whenever you saw someone fall off the side of a building in movies, they were always screaming. You felt the pressure running up to your head, but that may have just been all the blood in your body as your hips dipped over the side- you couldn't hear or feel anything coming out of your throat. Both of your fists clenched- one helplessly on the windowsill, and the other around your charm. Your entire body felt frozen and numb as you slipped over until you were suddenly yanked back, both your palms stinging as you landed a few feet away from the window. As you tried to breathe and register what was happening to you, your upper arms were suddenly taken into a vice grip.
"What the hell were you thinking?!" In a normal scenario, you would flinch back at Jun's volume- but right now, it was just enough to break through your haze.
"W-Wha-"
"What the hell were you even trying to do?!" His voice echoed down the hallway, and you were sure the whole school could hear.
"I-" This time, you were cut off by a sob as your emotions all settled in to the situation.
Jun expression faltered before he released your arms, pulling you into his chest just as tightly. You wrapped your arms under his shoulders, holding him close as you cried into his uniform. Your palms and your neck were both hurting, and you felt a little dizzy.
"Just breathe, okay?" he pressed a firm kiss against your hair. "I'm sorry I yelled, but just try to breathe for me, okay?"
It didn't take long for you to push down your sobs as he rubbed your back in an attempt to calm you.
"I'm sorry," your words were a little distorted from how firmly your cheek was pressed against his chest. "I didn't think I was leaning that far. I'm sorry."
Jun shushed you as your voice grew tighter at the end, pulling away shortly to examine you. "Are you hurt?"
You brought your hands back around to identify the stinging. The one that had grabbed the windowsill was red from you being yanked away, but the one that had reached for your charm was scratched up from the branch.
"My neck..." you brought your less wounded hand up to your neck.
Jun tilted your chin up to see, looking upset. "I didn't have anything to grab but your shirt. Your collar must've been pulled against it when I brought you in."
You adjusted your disheveled uniform as Jun rubbed the spot gently with his thumb. He looked down both ends of the hallway before leaning in to place soft kisses of apology and reassurance along your throat. His lips trailed up your jaw to find your lips, giving you a short, but proper kiss before he pulled away.
"The hell were you even doing?" his tone was harsh again, ready to scold you after making sure you were okay.
You shrunk into your sweater. "My charm was in the tree..."
"...hah?"
Pulling your phone from your pocket, you showed him the bare corner. "The charm you got me..."
Jun groaned and pressed his forehead into your shoulder. "What the hell am I supposed to do with you? Falling out of a window for a damn phone charm."
You wrapped your arms around him, holding him close as he breathed deeply.
"I'm sorry, Jun. I'll try not to lean out of another window anytime soon." You kissed his temple, feeling his fists curl up in the back of your uniform.
You sat there in silence for a few moments, grateful no one had come down the hall after all his yelling. Jun kissed your neck once more, lingering longer than last time.
"I was scared," his breath blew across your clammy neck. "I didn't think I was going to grab you in time."
You pulled him closer, rubbing your hand firmly across his back. "You did, Jun."
Resting your chin against his shoulder, you noticed something on the ground just behind him.
"Ah..." leaning him back a bit, you patted the floor until you hit what you were looking for.
Bringing your hand into view, you dangled your little phone charm. Jun peered up from your neck, scoffing and flicking your forehead.
"I'll just buy you another one next time, dumbass. Don't ever do shit like that again, ya hear?" his voice was still too tense and shaky to be just angry.
You smiled and kissed his forehead, holding him against you again. "Thank you, Jun."
