“Hey, Nemuri, have you seen Hizashi?” Aizawa asked, peeking his head into the staff room. The violet haired siren looked up from her computer, leaning back in her chair to look at him. “We were supposed to go out tonight, but I can't find him.”
The 18+ hero gave a little smirk, pushing her chair back and standing up to stretch. “What, is it date night again?” She teased, earning an eye roll from Aizawa. “But, no, sorry. Haven't seen him since school let out.” Nemuri paused then, looking around the room for something. “Actually, what time is it?”
The raven haired hero raised an eyebrow in confusion. “Almost eight thirty, but what does that have to-”
Nemuri interrupted him, putting a hand on her hip. “Ah, alright, I know where he went off to.” She said, and Aizawa stood there for a moment before gesturing for her to continue. The siren shook her head. “Sorry Sho, I can't tell you. He'd kill me if he found out.” She explained, giving him a shrug. Then she paused again before giving a small sigh. “Well, I can't tell you exactly where he is... But I think it's stupid that he won't just tell you already. You should be able to find him somewhere around the uptown area, in one of the alleys. Just... Promise me you won't yell at him too much tonight?”
Aizawa's whole body tensed at that. What was she saying? Why would he yell at Hizashi unless he was- No, he refused to believe it. If the blond was cheating on him, Nemuri would have told him as soon as she found out. “Yeah, okay. Promise.” He mumbled under his breath, heading out of the room again. The word itself felt like it had sunk under his skin and burrowed into his very soul almost immediately.
The warlock almost never made promises so flippantly like that, as his very being was bound to them. Depending on the wording of the question or thing asked of him, he could often be bound by it for the rest of his life. Aizawa was grateful that Nemuri had worded her question so carefully, lest he possibly lose his mind. Then again, hardly anyone who knew this little fact about him tried to use it against him, unless they knew he would do something to someone if they didn't.
In any case, the rest of what the violet haired siren confused him. He thought about it as he walked down the familiar halls of UA, repeating her exact words in his mind over and over. “He'd kill me if he found out”, “it's stupid that he won't tell you already”, “somewhere around the uptown area, in one of the alleys”... That last one is the one that worried him. There were a few well-known vampire nests uptown and, even this early into the night, it was dangerous to walk the alleys there alone. What reason could the blond have to go there, unless...
Was Hizashi a blood whore..?
The thought itself was sickening to even consider, but certain things did line up... That old looking vampire bite scar that Aizawa had discovered when they first started dating. The way he would sometimes disappear for the whole night before reappearing the next morning, seeming out of it. How he always got so evasive when the raven haired warlock asked him about it, dodging the question or changing the subject entirely.
In the end, it made sense... Aizawa just hoped to whatever gods there were that it wasn't true. If Hizashi was going uptown regularly to give himself up to thirsty vampires, the raven would have to place some kind of tracking spell on him. The blond would need to be monitored regularly to make sure he didn't fall back into these frankly disgusting habits. But, then again, maybe Hizashi just had friends in the area.
The warlock really hoped that was the case as he walked out of the building and into the fresh night air.
Jumping from rooftop to rooftop was a bit exhausting, but it was the fastest way to get around in this part of town. It was also one of the easiest ways to see into the alleys nearby. Aizawa had marked himself with some temporary runes meant to enhance his hearing and sense of smell. If anything happened within a three block radius, he would know about it. So, not even ten minutes later, when the warlock smelled fresh blood, his own ran cold.
The raven ran towards the smell, wondering faintly why he hadn't heard any screams beforehand. But now it didn't matter as he swung down into a rather wide alley behind what smelled like a bar. A little way ahead, was a body. Going over to it, Aizawa was happy to see that the woman was still breathing. He took out his phone, but before he could even open up the call app, he was being tackled by some being that he hadn't seen hiding into the shadows.
Aizawa's head hit the wall, making his vision go spotty and giving his attacker the advantage of pinning him down against the wall. The raven's eyes widened as the spots quickly cleared from his vision, finally able to see the face snarling down at him with deadly fangs bared. Red eyes glowed in place of the familiar green, making the warlock's blood run cold. There was no fucking way... “Zashi..?” He murmured, the snarl on the blond's face falling slightly as he looked at Aizawa.
“Shouta..?” He finally said after a minute, red shifting to green as fangs retracted. Then, Hizashi tensed, eyes going wide as he shoved himself off of Aizawa and slapped a hand over his mouth. “Shouta! What are you- How did- Why are you here!?” The blond finally got out, slowly starting to realize the state he was in. “Oh god, fuck, Sho, I can explain, I swea-”
“You're a vampire.” The warlock said bluntly, cutting Hizashi off as he searched for words. He just stood there, mouth partly open, staring at Aizawa with an expression of fear and regret and... Hunger... Finally, the blond looked away, covering his mouth again as he nodded. “Why didn't you tell me?”
Hizashi didn't answer right away, seeming to think about the best answer to the question before speaking. “Because I'm a monster...” He finally muttered, and Aizawa wouldn't have heard him if not for his sensory enhancement runes. “Because I knew you'd hate me... Knew you'd leave me, and I couldn't live with myself if you did that.”
“Is that why you're out here hunting instead of just buying blood bags?” The raven asked him, and he saw Hizashi bite his lip in response. “Because you were afraid I'd find them or something? Zashi, why the hell would I give a damn if you're a vampire or not?” He asked, a little angrily. He was actually a bit pissed that the blond had decided to keep this from him.
Hizashi looked at him with that ashamed look again. “I don't like blood bags... It's not the same as...” He trailed off, not seeming to want to finish his thought.
“Feeding from a person?” Aizawa asked, only getting a nod. He finally come to a decision then, the warlock reached up and pushed his capture scarf over his head, letting it fall to the ground besides him. “You could always have just drank from me, y'know. You can now, if you're still hungry.” He told the blond vampire, meeting his eyes with what he hoped was a casual look.
“Shouta, you don't mean that.” Hizashi said, voice suddenly turning dangerous. His eyes had flashed red again, revealing what the blond wasn't going to admit, even to himself. He was still hungry and, judging by the way the vampire was staring at him, Aizawa looked delicious. “I could kill you.”
The warlock actually laughed at that, leaning back a little to rest on the wall as casually as possible. “You wouldn't. You didn't kill them.” He stated, gesturing to the sleeping woman on the floor.
“They were bait.” Hizashi snapped, baring his teeth. There were no fangs now, put away as they weren't being used. “The only people stupid enough to come and check on someone in this part of town are the blood whores and drunks.” He growled out and looked away again, clearly ashamed of himself. “Just... You need to leave...”
Looking at the blond, Aizawa let his voice turn soft. “You're not going to hurt me, Hizashi. It's fine. You can drink from me.” He told him, and he opened his arms in a 'come here' gesture.
Barely a second passed before the vampire was pinning Aizawa down again, speed honestly throwing the raven haired warlock off guard for a moment as he sucked in a breath. “Last chance to push me away. Once I start, I won't stop until I'm satisfied.” Hizashi growled in warning, and the raven could see his fangs push out over his teeth in a form of threat. Instead of cowering, Aizawa tilted his head to the side and looked the blond dead in the eyes.
“Do it.”
And he did.
It was a weird sensation, being fed on. Sharp fangs broke the skin right above his jugular as Hizashi lunged for the bare flesh of the warlock's neck. One of his hands was gripping Aizawa's hair so hard that it bordered on painful, having wrenched his head to the side a bit more for easier access to the vein. There was a little pain, but it was numbed by the natural anesthetic in vampire's saliva. The raven could still feel Hizashi drink however, sucking out blood and swallowing it eagerly.
He must have really been hungry, nails digging into Aizawa's skin as the blond hummed, teeth clamping down just a little harder. It made the warlock hiss a little, eyes squeezing shut in pain. But there was no apology. No pulling away to make sure he was alright. Hizashi just growled low in his throat, sounding possessive and dangerous and the raven couldn't help the light shiver that went down his spine.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, Hizashi's fangs pulled away from his throat and he licked over the mark that had been left. Then, he pulled off fully, looking at the raven haired warlock. “You good?” He asked worriedly, and Aizawa gave a little chuckle before he nodded. “Good... Thank you for the meal.” He murmured softly, almost like an after thought, pressing their lips together. It was soft, reassuring, and the raven could taste his blood on the blond's lips.
“How about we head home now, yeah?” Aizawa asked when he pulled away, giving the blond a tired look. He took note that his eyes had gone back to their natural green. “You might have to carry me though, that took a lot out of me... Literally and figuratively.” Hizashi just laughed, carefully picking the raven up before heading towards the main street.
