Summary
THIS IS A NON-UPDATING WORK. PLEASE SEE "The Book of Gold" (2.0) FOR THE ACTUAL FIC. (Note 12/08/22: the 2.0 work is not up yet. Goal is to have some of it up at some point in the coming year, but that's dependent on my exiting schedule).
The story here is that I got ahead of myself in terms of writing and planning this fic some years ago, and then didn't update for two years when I hit the outer edge of the written material I already had worked up. I reassessed recently, and have decided the best way to move forward is to keep this fic up as a sort of "process document," and re-upload the edited, official version of the fic as a separate work. That requires me to complete the official version, but it also makes it easier for me to do so, since I'd no longer have to adhere to posted chapters I now want to alter significantly. For those readers still interested in Book of Gold after such a long hiatus/convoluted writing and posting process, thank you very much. I hope I can reward you appropriately sometime soon.
