Wouldn't Trade It For Anything

Summary:

Katsuki didn't speak for a good quiet minute, just holding her soft body close to his own. "...Have I ever told you that I love you? That you mean the world to me?...Angel Face, I'd do anything for you, I'm sorry nearly dying is what made me say it"

Work Text:

Katsuki Bakugou was an interesting man, he was loud and clearly didn't want to get close to people. But, then there was Ochako Uraraka, the small girl that everyone saw as small and weak, she would stop at nothing to become friends with everyone and Katsuki fell for that childish enthusiasm...He cursed her, hated her for making him so soft, hated everyone who thought she was weak. Though even if Ochako made him weak, he knew he'd do anything for that girl.

Years after their first fight in the Sports Festival, they moved in together. Two Pro Heroes living together wasn't uncommon, even if it was platonic, but this was much different. Their relationship wasn't romantic (at least Katsuki told everyone it wasn't) and they weren't exactly the closest of friends, they just lived together, and shared a bed, and...did almost everything couples did. Katsuki refused to call it a relationship, they were Pros, he was scared to get too attached to her. Though when he looks back at it, he had been too attached to her for years.

Ochako loved Katsuki, they always spent time together and Katsuki cooked her breakfast. One of her favorite things was to wear his shirts and post photos on her social media, it bothered Katsuki more than anything which made her beyond happy.

Katsuki didn't know what came over him during this fight. He was the Number Two Hero, he was supposed to be level headed and not do something so stupid like this…But, he saw a villain running towards Ochako, she was already so distracted from trying to lift a large amount of debris to save civilians. So Katsuki did the only thing he could think to do, he ran forward and between Ochako and the Villian.

Time seemed to slow. He felt the Villain stab him, dragging the knife down and practically cutting him open as he went limp...It didn't take long for Ochako to get the civilians out and stop the Villain, getting the Villain into police custody before grabbing the man. Katsuki was bleeding out slowly, dizzy and unaware of his surroundings. Unaware of anything but the pink checked hero crying over him.

The ambulance managed to get him to the hospital within minutes, forcing Ochako to sit in the waiting room for hours upon hours while they worked on the Number Two Hero. She couldn't stop shaking, fear that he wouldn't get better at all. It was terrifying not knowing if the man she loved was going to be okay. Despite how busy their friends were, they all stopped by to get her food, or a blanket. Anything to keep her relaxed.

Ochako eventually was told she could go back. Immediately sprinting to the room, wrapped in an old hero blanket Izuku had brought her. Hurrying into the room and frowning as she slowly pulled up a chair, sitting down and holding his hand with a mumble of. "...You dumbass, I would've been fine if I got hit...Please get better, Katsuki"

Katsuki had lost a lot of blood, but he was going to be fine. He had a lot of IVs in his arms, stitches going all the way up his chest. He was so messed up. Bruised, bloodied, beaten. Though he was still alive and breathing...He felt so stupid, so dumb that he could've died. He just loved that disgustingly sweet woman far too much to let her get hurt.

It had been a few days of healing, and yet he was still quite weak. Ochako brought him homemade sweets everyday, considering that was the only thing she was good at cooking. Katsuki didn't have the heart to say that sweets, pastries, desserts, anything of the kind weren't his favorites. He assumed she knew from the look in her eyes every time she came in, but she was just trying to cheer him up.

After a few days, he started loving the sweets, every single one he saw reminded him of the happy go lucky girl.

When he was able to go home, he couldn't wait. Despite being weak, he hurriedly walked home, beyond happy that Ochako and him decided to get an apartment close to the hospital...Humming as he walked in slowly, legs burning and lungs screaming for rest. Ochako was in the kitchen baking, bundled up in his shirt and a pair of sweatpants. She was obviously so panicked that she didn't hear the door open, let alone the steps coming up behind her.

Ochako would've been terrified as arms wrapped around her, she would have been if she didn't recognize the strong scarred arms and the scent of burnt sugar…And she leaned back into the man, enjoying the comfortable silence of being domestic. Leaning up to kiss his cheek innocently. "I missed you, dumbass, never run into danger like that again"

Katsuki didn't speak for a good quiet minute, just holding her soft body close to his own. "...Have I ever told you that I love you? That you mean the world to me?...Angel Face, I'd do anything for you, I'm sorry nearly dying is what made me say it"

That was years ago, six years ago to be specific. They had finally given in and started dating, even getting married a year later...They were so happy together, everyone who even glanced at them could tell. The two of them even had a kid running around, a little four year old daughter named Azumi with Katsukis attitude and Ochakos looks, other than the glowing red eyes that seemed to scare their friends sometimes.

Ochako spent every night curled up on the couch with Azumi, watching a movie as Katsuki cooked in the room over. It was so peacefully domestic, and she wouldn't trade it for the world, wouldn't trade it for a single dream she had when she was younger. She had a loving husband, an amazing daughter, the best friends the world could give, and a spot at the top of the Rescue Hero charts.

Katsuki sighed as he laid in bed, an arm around his sleeping wife and a bright smile on his face. His hand laced through her hair slowly, feeling the soft locks move between his fingers as he relaxed...He couldn't imagine life without her, and it all started cause he was stupid and refused to let her get hurt...He hummed at the memory, leaning down and kissing her forehead before whispering.

"I love you, Pink Cheeks, more than anything…"
