A Climactic Revelation

Summary:

Maya channels Mia at a highly awkward moment, allowing Phoenix to have a chat with his old mentor about his blossoming relationship with her sister.

Notes:

Title and summary stolen from the kink meme. Kind of nsfw but I tried to be vague.

Work Text:

Phoenix was surprised to find that he had woken up first for once. Maya was most definitely the morning person in their relationship, but he supposed they had been up pretty late last night. It was only natural she’d be tired this morning.

He stared over at her, lying on her back beside him in his bed. Her hair was splayed across her pillow, and one of her arms was raised above her head, resting on the pillow as well. Her mouth was open slightly, and Phoenix smiled. He’d learned just recently that Maya was a pretty active sleeper. One of the first nights they’d fallen asleep together he’d woken in the middle of the night to a smack in the face, and had thought for a moment that Maya was having second thoughts and was trying to kick him out of his own bed. In reality, she was still fast asleep, with no inkling of the fact that she was throwing punches in her sleep. Phoenix had simply moved over some to give her more space in the bed, and the morning after she’d asked him why his cheek was red.

She seemed calm at the moment, so he moved a little closer to her, and leaned down to place a soft kiss against her cheek. He was sure it would wake her, but she didn’t respond except to wiggle her nose a bit. The rising and falling of her chest and the deep, relaxed breaths she was taking indicated she was still in a deep sleep.

It was the middle of the summer, so the two of them had opted for kicking the comforter off of the bed and using just the sheets, and Maya had them pulled up to her shoulders, but he knew that beneath the thin white layer, she wore nothing else.

He wasn’t normally one for morning sex, but he knew without a doubt Maya would appreciate it. She was insatiable, so much so that he found it almost hard to keep up with her. He wasn’t that old yet, and he loved sex as much as the next guy, but Maya… well, she was enjoying herself quite a lot. Thinking about it almost made him abandon his plans just so he would have time to shower and eat before she woke up and demanded his attention again, but the temptation of her body under that sheet just waiting for him was too much.

He lifted the sheets and slid beneath them. He felt his way across Maya’s body, running a hand down her stomach, over her hips, all the way down to her thigh. With his other hand, he pushed against her other thigh, and slowly but surely Maya moved her leg in her sleep, opening herself up to him. He rubbed a cheek against her thigh, then planted kisses down it. He stopped short of her centre, and instead moved to her other leg to do the same to it.

In her sleep, Maya shifted, a very quiet moan coming from her lips. He hadn’t even really started yet… He kept his touches light, kissing and touching her in every place but the one he really wanted to.

It was starting to get hot under the sheet, and Maya had already moved a bit more, so he thought it was finally time he turn it up a notch. He pressed his mouth against her centre, and Maya’s legs jerked. “Mm, Nick,” she mumbled, finally awake.

He said nothing, but kept licking and sucking, continuously working her up towards her orgasm. Maya reached down with a hand to run her fingers through his hair, but before long her head was flung back against her pillow, and her hands were instead bunched into the sheets, gripping them tightly as she whispered—just loud enough for him to hear her—“I’m gonna cum”.

Her climax rolled through her, but Phoenix kept his mouth on her, making sure to drag it out as long as possible. Her hips gyrated against him, and her thighs had him effectively trapped between her legs as she came. He heard her moan, and then finally go limp, her legs falling away from the sides of his head.

He moved away from her, aware of how sensitive she could be after orgasm. She took a deep, shuddering breath, and Phoenix felt quite proud of himself. He’d always been good with his tongue, other women in his life had told him so, and he was happy to let Maya experience it as often as she wanted. He moved up a bit, head still hidden beneath the sheets, and kissed Maya’s abdomen.

His eyes went wide with fear when he heard her reply.

“Mm… Diego… stop it.”

Phoenix froze. “Um…”

The body beneath him stiffed, and then all of a sudden the sheets were being flung off of him. He felt the need to avert his eyes as Maya’s smaller and much less voluptuous frame was gone, replaced instead by that of her older sister’s.

“PHOENIX?!”

Mia’s screech made him scramble backwards, and he tumbled off the bed and onto the floor. He grabbed the closest item of clothing he could find and thanked every god that existed that he managed to grab his pants first. Mia was still sitting on the bed, one hand holding the blankets up to her chest, the other hiding her eyes.

He pulled his pants on quickly. “What the hell?” he asked. “Why did Maya channel you now of all times?!”

Mia shook her head. “I don’t know! Why are you in Maya’s bed with her? What year is it? How old is she right now?!”

“Calm down, Mia,” he said. “And you can look now, by the way.”

Her fingers parted and he saw one eye peer out from behind her hand. When she was satisfied that he did indeed have pants on, she sighed with relief. “How can I be calm? Do I even want to know what you were just doing to my little sister?”

“I’m sorry!” Phoenix said. “I thought Maya would have control over something like this by now!”

Mia looked around the room. “Wait a minute, is this your room?”

Phoenix looked at her, and Mia turned her gaze back to him. She stared, and realized suddenly that Phoenix looked… different, somehow. “Phoenix, how many years has it been since I was last channeled?”

Phoenix sighed and took Maya’s robe off of the back of the bedroom door. He tossed it onto the bed with Mia. “You should get dressed. I have quite a bit to tell you.”

When they were both finally dressed, Phoenix led Mia out of the bedroom and down the stairs into the office. She sat down on one of the old, worn red couches while Phoenix went into the kitchen nook to make a pot of tea.

The office looked familiar and yet completely different from how Mia last remembered it. Her old desk was in the same place, though the old corded phone was gone, and the computer had been replaced with a much smaller laptop. Her shelves of law books still stood behind the desk, but an old piano sitting on one side of the room looked like it was being used as another impromptu shelf for other odds and ends. Even Charley the plant was still placed near the window where he’d always been, but he was noticeably taller now.

Phoenix re-entered the room a few minutes later and sat a teacup on the coffee table in front of her. He took a seat opposite her, on the other couch. He stared down into his teacup for a second, then set it down on the table without even taking a sip.

“I don’t even know where to start.”

“How about with the fact Maya was in your bed, and your… your face was between her legs.”

Phoenix held his hands up. “Relax, Chief. It’s been almost ten years since we last saw you. Maya’s 28 years old,” he said, realizing as he said it that Maya was officially older than Mia would ever be.

Mia sat back, at least a little less concerned now that she knew her sister wasn’t a teenager anymore, but still a little bit stunned at how old she actually was. It had really been that long? It was no wonder Phoenix looked different. He’d aged well, but it wasn’t that hard to see the small signs of ten years’ worth of aging when she really looked. The baby-faced young lawyer she knew was gone; Phoenix appeared much more refined now, his insecurities as a new lawyer gone, replaced by confidence that only came with years of experience. His dark but serious eyes were fixed on her, waiting for her reaction.

“I’m surprised it’s been that long,” she said quietly. "It doesn’t feel like it to me.” She looked back up at him. “So you and Maya, you’re…?”

He nodded. “But it’s still pretty new for us. We’ve only been dating for a month. You’re actually one of the first people to find out. We’ve managed to keep it to ourselves so far.”

“Why don’t you want anyone to know?”

“I have an adopted daughter,” he said, watching as Mia’s eyes widened slightly at the news of his being a father. “Ever since I started looking after her she’s wanted a mom. She’s 17 now so she’s stopped bugging me about it as much, but I still don’t want to disappoint her if things don’t work out between me and Maya. And then there’s Pearls, too. It’d break both of their hearts if they knew we were together, only for us to break up.”

“I guess that’s understandable,” Mia said. “It’s nice to hear that you’re a dad, though, Phoenix.”

He smiled. “Best decision I ever made was adopting Trucy, but those first few years were pretty difficult. Maya really helped me through a lot of it.”

“It sounds like you have a lot to tell me.”

“First I want to know why Maya channeled you during…” it was impossible to stop his face from reddening, “well, you know.”

“I certainly do,” she said, smirking at him. She sat back, looking pensive. “This is an awkward question to ask, but how long have you two been sleeping together? The whole month?”

“No,” Phoenix said, “only since Monday. It’s Saturday now. Maya wasn’t ready for that right away, which I was fine with.”

“Another awkward question, and not one I really want to know the answer to but I have to ask. Did Maya have any sexual experience with men before you that you know of?”

Phoenix furrowed his eyebrows. “No. She was pretty up front with that, it’s part of the reason we waited a little bit.”

“That makes sense, then,” Mia said, nodding to herself.

“What does?”

“Well, this is all really new to Maya. It’s been a week so she’s gotten through those first time nerves, and I’m sure by now she’s enjoying herself, assuming you’re satisfying her.” Mia paused, raising an eyebrow. “And with the way I woke up today I bet you are.”

Phoenix looked at the floor, trying to stop his blush from deepening further. “Well, being her first and all, I didn’t want to disappoint her…”

Mia laughed. “Good. Anyways, Maya probably channeled me by accident during her climax. Sometimes when powerful spirit mediums get a little too excited or happy, they can do some crazy things without realizing it. Trust me, I know.”

Phoenix stared at her. He was sure he didn’t want to know how Mia knew so well. “Just please tell me this isn’t going to be a recurring thing. Channeling you was bad enough, what if she channels her mom or someone next?”

Mia waved a hand, dismissing his thought. “I doubt it’ll happen again. You said Maya’s the Master now, right? She should have no problem controlling this once she knows it’s possible for it to happen. It probably took her by surprise as much as it did you and me. But wow, her spiritual powers must be pretty strong if she managed to channel me in the middle of something like that. Strong enough for the Master to lose control even for a few seconds.”

“You said it can happen if a spirit medium is excited or happy. You think she’s happy?”

Mia smiled. “Yeah, I think so.” She paused, watching as Phoenix smiled at her reply. “You love her, huh?”

He looked up at her. “I… yeah.  I guess I do. This thing between us, it isn’t just some quick fling or anything. I know it’s only been a month, but I really don’t want it to end.”

“Have you told her yet?”

“No, not yet.”

“You should. I haven’t talked to you for ten years so I bet there’s a lot of things about your relationship with Maya that I don’t know about, but the simple fact that it’s been ten years and the two of you are still in each other’s lives says something on its own. I’m sure she feels the same way. Don’t keep it in just because it’s only been a month. If you feel that way, tell her.”

“Yeah, thanks Chief. I think I will.” He looked up at her. “Ten years and you’re still showing up to give me advice.”

“You should probably stop calling me ‘Chief’, Phoenix. You realize you have a lot more experience now than I did, right?”

Phoenix looked away. “I could be 80 years old sitting here and I’d still think you know better than me.”

Mia smiled, and they were quiet for a few seconds. Finally Phoenix spoke again. “It was great talking to you again, awkward as it was, but do you think maybe you could bring Maya back now?”

“Oh, ready to jump back into bed with her already?” Mia teased.

Phoenix flushed. “No…”

“I’m just joking around with you. But still, no.”

“Why not?!”

“Well, besides the fact that I can’t just disappear unless Maya wills it, it’s been ten years!” Mia said. “You have a lot more to tell me about while we pass the time. And given she’s so much stronger now, I’d say it’ll be a while before Maya gets too tired to keep channeling me.”

Phoenix finally picked up his forgotten teacup and took a sip. He set it back down afterwards. “I guess there is a lot to tell,” he said, thinking of the past ten years and in particular a certain time of his life that he had secretly hoped Mia would never find out about. “I guess I should get started.”

Mia picked up her own cup and blew on the still hot tea. “I guess you should.”
