Work Text:

"The cultural festival is coming up." Aizawa stated dryly, "Figure out what you're going to do. You have twenty minutes, and Iida's in charge. Don't wake me up." Pulling out his sleeping bag, he leaned back against the wall, letting Iida take the podium.

"Alright! Raise your hand if you have an idea! Once we have a few we will put it to a vote! Who wants to start?"

~timeskip cause I'm not confident in my ability to write these kids well~

"I'm so pumped!" Uraraka cheered, pumping her fist as she walked, spinning to face her friends. "This is the best idea ever Deku! A musical showcase all about our time at UA? This is gonna be awesome!"

"It is a really cool way of combining our top two options, kero." Tsu stated, putting a finger to her lips as she spoke. "It's really going to be interesting to see how Mina's gonna choreograph it all. I'm pretty excited."

Flustered, Izuku waved off the complements, flushing madly. "I just hope it goes well! We're gonna have to work really hard to get it put together on time!"

"It's a good thing Aizawa-sensei is giving us time in class to rehearse!" Iida said, chopping his arm rapidly. "Though I am not too thrilled about replacing the heroics class with practice, at least we get the time to!"

Todoroki just smiled lightly as the group entered the dorms, greeting the others as they split off to begin homework or assist Mina with her choreo.

~what's this? another timeskip? oof~

"Guys!" Mina squealed, bursting into the common room and making several people jump, Hagakure hot on her heels. "I finished the blocking! We can start rehearsing! Also, since Aizawa-sensei would never, I managed to get Mic-sensei to do the narration for us!"

"Great job Mina!" Kirishima and Denki cheered from their spot on the couch. Scattered applause and noises of agreement came from around the room.

"Also! Quick question!" She exclaimed, spinning to face a group in the kitchen. "Are you sure you guys don't wanna dance with us? I can always come up with something for you."

"I think I speak for all of us when I say it's ok Mina." Stated Ojiro, getting nods from both Koda and Satou, who were at the table with him. "You're gonna need some people backstage, working with props and lighting and all that stuff. Don't worry! You guys will rock it!"

With that confirmation, Mina nodded before spinning back to face everyone else. "Let's get to practice!" She cheered, earning a "YEAH!" from the rest of the room, before Bakugo's voice boomed through the building.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP EXTRAS!"

~another timeskip? Nah~

After changing into their gym uniforms, Class 1-A gathered in Gym Gamma, ready to hear what Mina had in store. Sitting in a circle, Mina began passing around sheets of paper before beginning her explanation.

"Alright! So, here's the thing I don't have any concrete moves for the beginning yet, because I don't know what style fits everyone best. What I do have though, is a basic timeline of events we can all work together to build choreography around. The rest of the dance just needs a few minor touch-ups and it'll be good to go! How does that sound?"

"Great idea." Momo stated, reading over Jiro's shoulder. "That way each person only has to dance to what they're most comfortable with. That being said, would you like to explain what you had in mind?"

"Sure thing Vice Rep!" Mina cheered, giving a small salute before setting her paper down so she could gesture as she spoke.

"To start off simple, the whole dance can be split into about four parts: the Intro/Meeting the Class, USJ, the Sports Festival, and then a big finish with Final Exams!" Getting a lot of nods, she continued. "The reason we're only going up to the Sports Festival is because nobody needs to know about Stain or the training camp or Kamino Ward. Sound good?" More nods. "Awesome! With that said, let's get into the first section: Meeting the Class!"

Turning to Izuku, Mina pointed as she spoke. "For this part, I think Deku should start us off!"

"Seriously?" Asked Sero, ignoring as Kirishima held Bakugo back from exploding anyone and Izuku's flushed muttering. "Why him? No offense to Midoriya, but he's not the most flash guy."

Ignoring the tiny "None taken." from Izuku, Jiro held her finger up as she explained.

"I think I get it. Not only is Deku one of the most approachable guys here, but he's also been at the center of almost everything that happens with our class."

"Got it in one!" Hagakure cheered, pumping her fist in the air as she high-fived Jiro. "Mido, are you good with this? We can always change it if you're too nervous."

Izuku shook his head, determination laced in his voice. "No, I'll do it! It's just kinda surprising to me that you guys think of me like that."

"So it's settled! Deku will open us up! With that being said, let's move on to individual showings! Each of you is going to need to pick a song that represents you! Except you Todoroki! I've got something special planned for you!"

~I really need to stop with the time skips, but this would be hella long without them so fuck that~

"I can't believe Hagakure is going to play as Shigaraki!" Kirishima exclaimed excitedly. "That's super manly!"

"You're sure she's the right person to play him?" Asked Todoroki, sitting up from where he and Izuku had been practicing steps.

"Totally!" Mina said, examining said girl's outfit. "She's got the choreography down better than anyone else! It's gonna be so creepy! Plus, she's already going to be wearing the black shirt underneath her outfit that she would need. All we gotta do is slap some fingerless gloves, a wig, and a fake hand on her face and BAM!" She whooped. "Totally awesome Handy Man!"

"If you say so." Said Izuku, dragging Todoroki back to work on their steps.

~timeskip/pov change~

Aizawa suddenly shivered, sitting up from where he had been grading papers, catching the other teacher's attention.

"Why do I suddenly have the feeling my class is being stupidly extra?"

The other teacher's snorted in amusement before going back to their own work. Meanwhile, Present Mic laughed before grabbing some papers and leaving the room, off to record his lines for said class. "Oh he has no idea."

~wassup fuckers? it's cultural festival time~

With Eri on his shoulders, Mirio looked around the crowded auditorium, looking for someone. "Are you excited to see Deku and his friends perform today Eri?"

Feeling Eri nod, he finally spotted who he was looking for, pushing lightly through the crowd to meet them. "Aizawa-sensei! All Might! Mrs. Midoriya! Good to see you here!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mirio, Eri." Inko said, holding her hand out as Mirio shook it. "Izuku has told me a lot about you."

The lights suddenly dimmed, causing a hush to fall over the crowd.

"Let's go find some seats." Whispered All Might, guiding the group towards an empty section. "According to young Midoriya, we don't want to miss this."

~ha! You thought it was a timeskip, but it's only a scene change! You have been foiled! MUAHAHA!~

"Plus Ultra on three! Plus Ultra on three!" Mina chanted, Class 1-A piling their hands on hers. "One, two, three!"

"PLUS ULTRA!"

"Break a leg!" Ojiro and Satou cheered, Koda shooting them a shaky thumbs up, watching their classmates take their places.

~scene/pov change to third person watching idk just take it~

The crowd cheered as Izuku took to the stage, a pre-recorded voiceover playing as an upbeat tune started. "My name is Izuku Midoriya, and I'm working hard on my dream of becoming a true hero! I want to become someone who saves others with a smile on my face. This is the story of how my class became great heroes!"

The music grew gradually louder as the rest of the class began joining him onstage, all striking a pose. They then danced as a group, leaving Izuku to a solo of small tricks and spins. He was quickly replaced by Bakugo, whose harsh movements were a stark contrast. As the beat dropped, everyone cycled through, doing a small dance before posing right as the music ended and was quickly replaced by Present Mic's voice.

"Welcome to UA High! The top hero academy in Japan, where the students always go Plus Ultra! Meet the freshmen of Class 1-A."

Different music began playing as Izuku moved to the front again, sticking his hand in the air as he was introduced by Mic. "Seat number 18: Izuku Midoriya. Quirk: Superpower."

[It was 6:48 I was walking home. Stepped through the gate and I'm all alone…]

As Izuku began spinning and tricking again, the rest of the class, sans Kirishima and Bakugo, lined up and began dancing in unison. Those two were sitting back to back on a platform at the back of the stage, as there wasn't enough room for everyone to line up.

[...Put my hands up. I told this kid I'm ready for a fight.]

The music then stopped, replaced by a moment of static and an announcement of "Seat number 17: Katsuki Bakugo. Quirk: Explosion."

[Here comes the, here comes the, here comes the, y'all don't really want it now. (BOOM)...]

Everyone rearranged themselves as Bakugo took center stage, making the crowd cheer again. This time, the whole group was aggressive, large and harsh movements emphasizing Bakugo's movements in the middle. (Tsu's leap was rather impressive.)

[Here comes the, y'all don't really want it now. (BOOM)]

"Seat number 5: Ochaco Uraraka. Quirk: Zero Gravity."

[And nobody in all of Oz, no wizard that there is or was is ever gonna bring me down!]

Cheers rose up again as Uraraka ran across the stage, tapping Tsu, Momo, Jiro, Izuku, Mina, and Hakagure, making them float. They were each grabbed as to not float away as Uraraka ran back to the center and onto the back platform, allowing Shoji to place her on his shoulder. Holding her arms out as the song climaxed, Denki and Aoyama ran over and acted like they were cheering. As the final note hit, Uraraka released her quirk, and even those who were not floating dropped to the floor.

"Haha!" Denki's voice played, said boy sitting up to face the audience with a dopey look on his face and getting a laugh. "I get it."

"Seat number 4 and Class Representative: Tenya Iida. Quirk: Engine."

[Well this car is systematic. It's hydromatic. Why it's greased lightning!...]

On each beat, the whole class struck a pose (Denki wouldn't stop dabbing) as Iida pretended to warm up at the corner of the stage. As the music picked up the pace, Iida began pretending to run across the stage, purposefully staying in the center as everyone else danced behind him, mimicking his arm motions. As he pretended to race, moving to the other side of the stage, Kirishima stepped out of the line, and Iida pretended to run into him, falling back on the stage.

[A greased lightning-]

"Seat number 8: Eijiro Kirishima. Quirk: Hardening."

[I came in like a wrecking ball!...]

Unzipping his gym uniform, the crowd went wild as Kirishima moved down his line of classmates, pretending to knock them out. When he was about to reach Bakugo and Tsu, Bakugo suddenly stuck his hand out, tiny explosions popping across it. Pretending to be taken down, Kirishima fell down with the rest of his class, Tsu looking on amusedly.

[All you ever did was, wreck- (Boom)]

"Seat number 3: Tsuyu Asui. Quirk: Frog."

The audience lost it when Crazy Frog began playing, cheering as Tsu made her way to center stage.

[Let's go frog crazy!...]

As one, the class began again, walking in place to the beat, pulling off a few synchronized moves before rearranging into a pyramid formation, Tsu at the front. Dancing in sync again, they all posed as Tsu bleped at the end of the song.

[Bem, bem]

"Seat number 14: Fumikage Tokoyami. Quirk: Dark Shadow."

The crowd cheered as the lights dimmed, Tokoyami letting out Dark Shadow as he climbed onto the platform. The rest of the class slowly spun and sat where they had been standing, all facing Tokoyami.

[Darkness. Can't see. It's daylight, but I'm not me...]

As Tokoyami and Dark Shadow mimed talking back and forth, the class began moving with the words, leaning back and forth and moving their arms around as the song continued. As the song ended, the class shifted closer to the platform, bunching into a large group before freezing as it was cut off.

[Feet planted firmly but my head is in a whirl.]

"Seat number 11: Mezo Shoji. Quirk: Dupli-arms."

[With arms wide open under the sunlight…]

They quickly stood and rearranged into a line, Shoji at the front. They then stuck their arms out, mimicking how his arms look before the music cuts off again.

[Welcome to this place I'll show you everything.]

"Seat number 13: Hanta Sero. Quirk: Tape!"

[Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jäger!..]

Everyone turned and crouched, revealing Sero in the back, elbows poised to shoot. Try all began jumping around, miming swinging on his tape before pausing as the music changed again.

"Seat number 1: Yuga Aoyama. Quirk: Navel Laser!"

[The French are glad to die for love. A kiss on the hand may be quite continental but diamonds are a girl's best friend…]

Aoyama took to center stage, showing off his focusing belt before breaking into synchronized moves with the rest of the class, who had spread into two lines behind him. He moved along the line, and was then lifted by Iida and Todoroki, striking a pose as they carried him to the platform. Everyone then made two lines, jumping and then falling to the side as Iida and Shoji carried Aoyama between them, said boy miming walking on air before he was set down again. Aoyama then ran to one side of the stage, firing off a weak blast as everyone leaned back, miming shock and awe. He ran back to the platform as the class surrounded him once more, finishing off his segment as he went into a backbend, another weak beam getting shot off.

[And I am a material girl. (Kiss) aaah]

"Seat number 16: Toru Hagakure. Quirk: Invisibility."

Slipping out from behind her classmates, Hagakure waved a glove-clad hand in front of her face, emphasizing her quirk.

[DOO DOO DOO DOO! DOO DOO DOO DOOO…]

She quickly began to breakdance as the music started, dancing wildly. The class pretended to look around, as if unable to see her, before Jiro jumped up and down, pointing at the opposite side of the stage. They then formed a dance circle around the empty space, pretending to cheer for Hagakure, who was on the other side of the stage, trying to catch their attention and getting quite a few laughs.

[U can't see me, my time is now!]

"Seat number 7: Denki Kaminari! Quirk: Electrification."

The crowd cheered as Denki popped up from behind the platform, climbing on top of it as sparks flew off his clothes.

[This is how we do it…]

Denki jumped off the platform and made his way to the front, sparks still coming as the class spread out behind him. Compared to the other dances so far, this was way more jerky and robotic, emphasizing the nature of his quirk. As the music drew bigger, Kaminari mimed powering up his electricity, the class pretending to collapse behind him, before releasing a small flash of light and pretending to short-circuit.

"Seat number 12: Kyoka Jiro. Quirk: Earphone Jack."

Jiro pushed Kaminari off of the side, said boy still acting short-circuited as the rest of the class stood up. Making her way back to the middle, everyone struck a pose as her music started, bumping along to the beat. (Except Kaminari, cuz he's a doof)

[Pump up the jam, pump it up. While you feet are stompin and the jam is pumpin…]

They unfroze, doing a quick step before posing again, raising and lowering to the beat. Snapping out of his 'short-circuit' Kaminari looked around for a second before marching over to Jiro. Shuffling his shoe on the floor, he pretended to build static electricity, before reaching over and picking Jiro on the shoulder. The sound of the music shorting out played as Jiro pretended a shock ran through her body.

[Seek us that's where the party's at and you'll find out if you're too bad-]

She then pretended to shove Kaminari, marching away as he chased her and the next music started.

"Seat number 20 and Class Vice Representative: Momo Yaoyorozu. Quirk: Creation."

[Look at this stuff, isn't it neat. Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?...]

Momo popped up from behind the platform as the class went to surround it, acting amazed as the directed them, leaning back and forth. Jumping off the platform, Momo spun around before activating her quirk and sprinkling confetti, earning several laughs. Spinning around again, the class gathered on either side as Momo activated her quirk again, passing a staff to Tokoyami and a shield to Izuku.

[I've got gadgets and gizmos a plenty. I've got whosits and whatsits galore. You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty…]

Unzipping her gym coat, Momo turned around and activated her quirk again, making her signature nesting dolls. Moving to the side of the stage, she faced away from the crowd again as she was handed a fake cannon from off stage, turning around and pretending to aim at the class. Todoroki, who had followed her, turned away quickly, and shielded his face, quickly moving back to the others.

[But who cares? No big deal, I want more.]

"Seat number 2: Mina Ashido. Quirk: Acid."

Mina posed from her spot on the platform, surrounded by the rest of the girls.

[Ooh this my shit, all the girls stamp your feet like this!]

All jumping down from the platform, the girls formed a triangle, Mina at the point as they danced. The rest of the class congregated behind them, pretending to cheer them on.

[I ain't no hollaback girl! Few-]

The music cut off suddenly as Mineta appeared in the middle of the group, dancing to the front and getting weirded out looks from the girls as he spun.

"Seat number 19: Minoru Mineta. Quirk: Pop-off."

Looking back at the group, Mineta shrugged before starting his own thing.

[Pour some sugar on me! In the name of love!]

He danced around the girls, seemingly trying to get their attention. (Denki attempted to cover Izuku's eyes, but his hand was pushed away.) Momo ran off stage, Mineta following, but stopping right before he left, walking back to the group, he stopped by Jiro, who pretended to stab him with her earphone jack, the music cutting out as she did so.

[Yo Vanilla, kick it one time]

The girls split away, revealing Todoroki sitting in the middle of the platform, the other boys doing a small dance around him. Begrudgingly, he stood as he was announced, the rest of the group following him.

"Seat number 15: Shoto Todoroki. Quirk: Half Cold, Half Hot."

[Ice, ice baby]

They continued to dance around him, pausing when the music changed, only the boys (sans Todoroki, who looked like he wanted to die) dancing after the change.

[(I'd love to give you the lyrics for this part but I honestly can't understand them)]

Just as quickly as that song started, it was replaced by another, the boys running to the sides as the girls took over.

[Let me break the ice. Allow me to get you right…]

Now looking mildly uncomfortable, Todoroki jumped a little as Momo slid through his legs, the rest of the girls sliding up in a similar fashion, the whole group striking a pose with each beat.

[This girl is on fire!]

Suddenly, everyone does jazz hands, aiming them at Todoroki as he facepalms hard.

[Now you're toyin with FIRE!!]

Everyone dashed back in to surround Todoroki, limbs flailing as they shook.

[You're hot and you're cold! You're yes and you're no!]

Todoroki stood there as everyone else danced off, racing offstage, except Iida and Izuku. Izuku just patted Todoroki's shoulder before moving to sit next to Iida on the platform.

[You're in and you're out you're up and you're down!]

Todoroki turned away from the audience as the music quieted, seemingly going to sit with the duo, when another song started quietly.

[I am not a stranger to the dark. Hide away, they say, cause we don't want your broken parts…]

The audience went wild as he turned around, beginning his solo, though it was nothing like Bakugo's or Izuku's. This was more in the middle, soft but strong, smooth but rough at the same time.

[I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars. Hide away, they say, no one will love you as you are…]

Sliding across the stage, he did a handstand before tucking into a roll, earning more cheers as he slid back to the middle to meet Iida and Izuku, who both placed a hand on his shoulder before breaking off to the sides of the stage.

[When the sharpest words wanna cut me down…]

While Todoroki was still doing his solo, Izuku, Tsu, Uraraka, Momo, Jiro, and Aoyama came from the sides of the stage, each holding a flame colored fan. Bakugo, Mina, Iida, Denki, Mineta, and Tokoyami came up behind them, holding a giant sheet. As the chorus hit, the sheet was unfurled, reminiscent of Todoroki's signature glacier. The fans were also unfurled, flying back and forth as the group danced, all posing (T-posing but I shouldn't say it) on the final beat, earning wild cheers from the audience.

[THIS IS ME.]

Moving quickly, the group left the stage, leaving only Izuku, Todoroki, Bakugo, and Kirishima, who had come back from offstage. Red lights began flashing as they pretended to look around, acting cautious as Mic's voice came on again.

"Warning! Warning! Outsiders have infiltrated the UA campus. USJ has been breached! Villains are on the premises, I repeat, villains are on the premises! Do not engage!"

The crowd went wild as Hagakure popped up from behind the platform, gym uniform now replaced by a long sleeve black shirt and pants, blue wig on her head and fake hand on her face. She was slouched over menacingly, dangling limbs only adding to the fear factor.

[Billie]

As Hagakure climbed into the platform, the four boys spread out along the front of the stage. The rest of the class poured in from the wings, having shed their gym jackets for black shirts as they moved menacingly to crowd around Hagakure.

[What do you want from me? Why don't you run from me?...]

The class posed with each beat, shifting as the song continued. Most (Iida, Tokoyami, Mineta, Uraraka, Mina, and Shoji) broke off before the chorus, jerkily moving to surround each of the boys in the front, who were now sitting on the ground. The rest of the group followed Hagakure as she slipped toward the middle of the stage, limbs dangling eerily as she walked.

[...When we all fall asleep where do we go? Say it, spit it out, what is it exactly…]

The groups split into two different dances, the boys in the front attempting to escape from the 'villains', and Hagakure's group, grabbing the most attention with limp and jerky movements reminiscent of the actual villain in the USJ.

[Your talk'll be somethin' that shouldn't be said out loud…]

The guys on the door then sat up, slowly changing their movements to join the rest, standing as they did so. Then, they each branched off, jerking in different directions as the 'villains' all moved as one.

[Then my limbs all froze and my eyes won't close…]

Syncing together again, the whole group lowered themselves to the floor, except Hagakure, who continued to be a creepy noodle. The 'villains' then stood again, leaving the guys on the floor as they continued in sync, backing up Hagakure as she continued her solo.

[I wanna end me…]

The group shifted back to surround Hagakure again, moving as one to one side of the stage as the boys escaped to the other. The 'villains' danced again, the boys watching cautiously. As the song wound down, Todoroki and Kirishima pretended to restrain Bakugo as Izuku went back to the center, and was almost instantly surrounded and restrained by the 'villains'. Hagakure did her creepy lil walk towards Izuku, about to touch his face when a bell rang.

[When we all fall asleep where do we go?]

The group rushed off the stage, leaving only Todoroki, Kirishima, Bakugo, and Izuku to reorient themselves. Bakugo climbed on the platform as the rest of the class trickled back in, zipping jackets back on and arranging themselves into a couple lines. Present Mic's voice came on again, excited as ever as they did a little dance to the beat.

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to UA's annual Sports Festival! For the sake of our show, we're going to completely focus on the freshmen, even though we have made it clear that it's usually always about the third years! Here to speak on their behalf is the angriest...I mean the top student, Katsuki Bakugo!"

Stopping their dance, the class turned to face Bakugo as his voice blared over the speakers.

"I just wanna say, I'm gonna win."

"I KNEW HE'D SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" the class chorused, throwing their arms up in frustration and causing several laughs to ripple through the crowd. A bunch more exasperated comments played as Bakugo began acting like he was prepping an explosion, pounding his feet down as everyone broke off in different directions, miming going through the obstacle course.

[Who in here tryna start a riot?]

This continued as the class subtlety rearranged themselves, spreading back across the stage before the chorus hit.

[Let's rock 'n' roll (rock) So high up, I can't see the floor…]

With Bakugo in the center, the class began again, energy levels high as when they fought in the sports festival. They stomped and spun, movements wide as they shuffled themselves again with Izuku taking the lead again.

[I’m comin through with my crew to make ‘em pay. I don’t need no super suit, I’m feelin’ brave]

Unzipping their jackets as they danced, the class slipped them off as one, slamming them on the ground and pumping their fists as Izuku, Todoroki, Kirishima, and Bakugo seamlessly rotated, bringing Bakugo back to the front as the music changed it’s tone, the crowd going wild once more.

[Start it up, start it right. Start it up, start it, start it (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) Who in here tryna start it?]

Everyone quickly picked up their jackets, moving out of the center as Bakugo and Todoroki circled each other threateningly before breaking off, Bakugo to the back of the stage and Todoroki to the side, facing off with Izuku, who was standing on the other side.

[Every day is like a sticky situation, when evil’s lookin’ for a chance…]

Hagakure took to the platform again, dancing with a small group surrounding her as Izuku and Todoroki faced off like they had in the festival, charging each other and flipping into a pass as the rest of the class came back on stage. A few pairs faced off in the background as Todoroki and Izuku continued, before being replaced by Bakugo and Uraraka.

[You better just fix your posture, and every hero needs his theme song, so…]

The pair mimed their fight for a little bit, acting out Uraraka’s meteor shower as the class pretended to cheer behind them. Shifting back to the center, some of the class began running in circles to the sides as Uraraka took to the platform, Iida and Shoji subtly positioning themselves behind it. As Bakugo pretended to charge up a blast, the runners lined up diagonally, spinning one at a time as Bakugo released a small blast in Uraraka’s direction. As soon as the blast went off, Uraraka jumped backwards, being caught and lowered down safely by Shoji and Iida. With the song finishing out, the class surrounded Bakugo once more, cheering for his ‘victory’ before freezing as Present Mic’s voice came on again.

“Aaaand that’s the end of the Sports Festival! But no rest for the wicked.” Everyone unfroze, retrieving their jackets before slipping them on and reorganizing themselves into two lines, Iida by himself in the frond, making wide arm motions as the audience laughed. “It’s time to pair up for your final exams! Because even though the school year just started, it’s over! Remember to focus, relax, and above all else, stay loose.”
[Walk up to yo ****, told er I’d buy er. ***** talk shit, I pull out the fire…]

As the new song came on, Iida did a small dance before breaking off to go stand on the platform. Each pair afterwards followed his example, either striking a pose or doing a little dance before splitting away to opposite sides of the stage. Tokoyami and Tsu, Todoroki and Momo, Uraraka and Aoyama, Mina and Denki, Shoji and Hagakure, Mineta and Sero, Kirishima and Jiro, and finally, Bakugo and Izuku.

[Cause I’m loose off the goose, loose off the goose…]

Bakugo and Izuku popped their jackets, swinging back and forth a few times as the rest of the class began to join them. As the rest of the class joined, Bakugo turned to Izuku, lightly shoving him and causing him to stumble before both marched off to seperate sides of the stage.

[Loosing up in the backseat, got killers on the street…]

Izuku’s group slid forward, dancing quickly as Bakugo’s group + Iida bounced to the beat. As their little bit ended, the groups switched, Bakugo’s group sliding forward for their part. After they finished, everyone arranged themselves back into their pairs, one person behind the other as they started a new sequence (Mineta leaving the stage as Iida took his place behind Sero), Izuku and Bakugo taking to the platform.

[Click clack two heels, tell her don’t make a noise…]

They danced for a minute before switching pairs, some leaving the stage as the front and back people were swapped. The front people dropped to the floor in their own sequence as their partners danced behind them. Reaching the next chorus, everyone crouched and half-turned back towards Bakugo and Izuku. Izuku pretended to punch Bakugo’s palm before letting his arm swing back and forth, as if he had broken it again. The pairs spun back around, swinging their arms like Izuku as they stood up and made their way offstage. Bakugo and Izuku climbed down once they left, both walking to center stage before Bakugo turned back to Izuku, grabbing his collar and pretending to throw him back as he walked off stage, leaving Izuku on the floor.

[******* getting loose. Turn up, turn up, turn up, turn up…]

Izuku lay there for a few moments before standing up, brushing himself off as his voice came over the speakers one last time. “You know, we might not be the strongest heroes right now. But that’s ok, because we’re doing our best. We’re making a difference. All Might once told me not to worry about what other people think, and to hold my head up high and plunge forward. So that’s what I’m gonna do! And maybe, one day, we can gain those titles fair and square! Hey, we can hope, right? As long as we can go Further, Beyond! Plus Ultra!”

[...and never come down. Momma said, don’t give up. It’s a little complicated…]

Izuku began to solo again, mimicking his moves from the beginning of the dance as his classmates began to file onstage once more.

(Somewhere in the audience, Inko shed a tear.)

[...hate to see you waiting. They say it’s all been done but you haven’t seen the best of me…]

When Bakugo came back on, he took over for a few seconds before passing off to Iida and Uraraka. As the chorus hit, the class lined up across the stage, arms slung over shoulders and pumping in the air as they sang along, encouraging the crowd to sing with them.

[Had to have high, high hopes for a living, shooting for the stars when I couldn’t make a killing…]

Everyone broke off with their neighbors, dancing silly as the music continued to swell. Sero and Aoyama were jumping around as Mina, Kirishima, and Bakugo headbanged to the beat. Tsu, Uraraka and Tokoyami danced together in a little half-circle. Izuku, Iida, and Todoroki all high fived each other, grinning madly. Shoji and Momo pumped each other up as Hagakure and Mineta flailed around next to them. Jiro and Denki were on the far end, headbanging together like there was no tomorrow.

[Had to have high, high hopes for a living…]

As the final chorus hit, they shifted into formation once more with Izuku in the center, dancing just as hard as when they first started. As the sequence ended, they lined up once more, before spinning and posing, their class picture displayed proudly behind them as the crowd roared.

Shifting closer, they held hands and bowed, the cheers growing louder. One by one, the students stepped forward and bowed, earning a round of applause from the audience and their peers.

Looking offstage, Izuku motioned to someone, and Ojiro, Satou, and Koda walked out in their tech uniforms, all receiving just as much applause as the rest. A quick glance was shared by the class, and as one, they all pointed back to the sound booth, where Present Mic had taken up residence. As the crowd cheered for him, Mina found Aizawa and All Might in the crowd and motioned towards them, getting the rest of the class’s attention. They all caught on quickly and before too long, the two had been dragged onto the stage as well, much to the crowd’s delight.

~timeskip or scene change or whatever~

“That was...unexpected.” Stated Snipe, clapping along with the other teachers and staff as they watched Aizawa get tackled by a dozen students as All Might laughed. “These kids really are determined, huh?”

“They’re definitely the next top heroes.” Ectoplasm agreed, “I wonder what they’re gonna do next.”

Looking out over the crowd from his perch on Cementoss’ shoulders, Nezu only laughed.

Notes:

That was...a thing. I dunno. Here's the link for the actual video if you wanna watch the real thing. The Corps Dance Crew is amazing and you should definitely go watch their video and support them. I obviously took some liberties seeing as they had their quirks and all, but I think it went ok. Let me know in the comments if it was shit or if there are any errors i need to fix.

Anyways, on a completely random note, I can't stop thinking about Monoma's quirk so if I have to suffer, y'all have to suffer too.

Ok, so Monoma. Copy quirk. Big ego yadda yadda. We learn that when he copies OFA, he doesn't gain access to the immense strength Izuku has (reference manga between Overhaul and Cultural Festival arcs). But, could he transfer OFA to another person through DNA? If he did, would it go away after he stopped copying OFA or would the person still have it? And if it stayed, who's to stop Monoma from handing out OFA like candy on Halloween? And what about the other quirks inside of OFA? Do those count as their own quirks or does he copy those too? As Izuku unlocks more of those will it be like a quirk roulette where Monoma copies a random quirk from OFA and hopes for the best? The thing is though, is it could depend on whether or not in copying someone's quirk, Monoma's DNA changes to accommodate it. This means if his DNA does change with each quirk, then hypothetically, OFA would be a part of his DNA and could potentially be passed on. Also it could mean that, in a sense, Monoma has two quirks whenever he has one copied, seeing as the ability to copy other quirks doesn't go away once he's made a copy. So hypothetically, if Monoma could refine his quirk enough, he may have the potential to copy more than one quirk at a time.

I feel like I'm overthinking this, sorry.
