It Takes a Classroom (or Two) to Organize a Wedding

Summary:

"They're probably going to be distracted from their schoolwork and their grades will drop; we may just have to fail Kaminari if he gets too into this. Then, when and where are we going to hold a fucking wedding in the middle of the school year? What are we even going to wear? I don't own a kimono or a wedding dress in case you've forgotten, and I'm certainly not about to wear my press conference suit to our wedding."
"... The way you're talking, it sounds like you actually wanna hold this wedding."
Shouta opened and closed his mouth, then promptly put his head in his hand.

Class 1-A find out that Aizawa and Present Mic never actually had a wedding and decide immediately that they must rectify this horrible mistake. Chaos ensues.

Chapter Text

Rikido smiled to himself as Yaoyorozu watched the television in rapt attention. The two of them made the plan to marathon all of Cake Boss within the month, and while Rikido enjoyed it and loved to see how everything came together, Yaoyorozu took it to an entirely different level. At some points over the past week, she surprised him with how heated she got over all the flubs and sudden surprises.

Rikido returned his full attention to the elaborate wedding cake (and really, when was anything on Cake Boss not elaborate?) that Buddy was busily piping for a few minutes until another one of their classmates dropped in.

"Sato, do you think you'd make your own wedding cake?" Sato swiveled his head around to Aoyama perched on the arm of the couch.

"That's a bit out of the blue."

"Is not. You're the one watching the show with a wedding cake that needs making every third episode."

   He had him there.

"Well... I guess I thought about it before. But never like, seriously. I mean, who plans their own wedding before they even have someone they wanna marry?"

   "Moi, of course!"

"What's going on??" Yaoyorozu paused the episode and frowned up at the boys from her spot on the rug.

"Sato has no imagination." Aoyama draped himself over the couch to emphasize his point.

"I'm just saying it doesn't seem all that important."

"Ohoho, what's got my little listeners all up in such a devastating tizzy?"

The trio turned to see Present Mic helping Iida and Shoji with the groceries.

"Monsieur Mic, did you ever think about what your wedding would be like before you and Monsieur Aizawa got married?" Aoyama shifted up onto his elbows.

"Wedding, huh?" Mic set down the paper bag he was carrying onto the nearest table. "I know before I met him, I would think sometimes about if I'd wear a tux or a fancy kimono and how big the party would be and stuff. Not that much though. Why do you ask?"

"Aoyama thinks I should make my own wedding cake." Rikido said.

"Je ne le parle pas, I was pointing out that it's odd for someone who watches a show where wedding cakes are made all the time to not be thinking more seriously about if he'd make his own wedding cake."

"You said before you met Aizawa Sensei." Yaoyorozu chimed in with a curious sparkle in her eyes. "What was your wedding really like?"

   "Oh we didn't have one."

Even Rikido had to blink back the helping of shock that statement dropped on them.

"You never had a wedding?!" The way Yaoyorozu looked at Present Mic, he might as well have told them he and Aizawa were never married in the first place.

"No." Present Mic was completely straight faced as he pulled the rice out of his grocery bag and handed it off to a truly astonished looking Iida.

   "But monsieur, why?"

"There's lots of reasons for us not to have a wedding. What I would like to know is why you're getting your feathers all kerfuffled over this?"

"It's a shock is all." Shoji said.

"How can a married couple not have a wedding?" Yaoyorozu gasped suddenly as soon as she said it. "Did your families not approve? Did you have to elope?"

"No, we were not fleeing the disapproval of our families. If anything, our relatives were the ones who wanted a wedding the most."

   "So why?! Porquoi!?"

   "You're a persistent bunch."

"What's happening in here?" Kirishima popped his head in with Tetsutetsu in tow.

Aw man, I totally forgot about our workout.

"Only the most Earth shattering revelation to ever reach our ears!" Aoyama draped himself over Rikido's shoulders. Rikido decided to just let it happen.

"Why do you kids care so much?" Mic Sensei swiveled his gaze around the room.

"What are you talking about?" Rikido asked, "Of course we care."

"It's as if our teachers have skipped a major life event right under our noses!" Iida proclaimed, closing the fridge for emphasis. Or maybe he always closed the fridge like that. Yeah, he always closed the fridge like that.

"We got married when you guys were elementary schoolers. You realize that, right?"

"Which means you're overdue for a wedding!" Yaoyorozu and Aoyama said in unison.

Present Mic smiled and rolled his eyes.

"Well if you're really that insistent on it, why don't you all plan it?"

"Plan what?" Ashido came down the hall carrying Hagakure piggyback for... whatever reason.

"We're planning Mic and Aizawa's wedding!" Kirishima yelled.

"Bro," Tetsutetsu smacked Kirishima's shoulder urgently. "We gotta tell Shiozaki, she's gonna flip!"

"And we gotta make a guest list!"

"Wait, we need a theme!" Hagakure shouted.

"Where will we hold it?" Yaoyorozu rose to her feet.

"Let's not get too ambitious-" Iida tried to rein everyone in.

"What're they gonna wear!" Ashido came further into the room.

"The fuck're you all yammering about?!?!" Bakugou's voice reverberated down the staircase.

"The wedding!" The students all shouted back.

"Shouta, it's not as bad as it sounds..." Hizashi attempted to placate him, but Shouta could only think about the headache he felt coming on. He sank back into the couch and glared at the ceiling of the teachers' dorm common room.

"You realize this doesn't just affect us. They're probably going to be distracted from their schoolwork and their grades will drop; we may just have to fail Kaminari if he gets too into this.

"There are many things I don't have control over, and I do not have the energy to stop this wedding from happening."

"So you don't wanna hold the wedding."

"Well I- I just-" Shouta sighed long and hard. Hizashi leaned against him and rubbed his shoulder.

"Hey, it's okay. I know, it's stressful, and the kids are crazy and all of this is completely out of left feild. But hey, bonus, you get to wear a pretty dreeess~"

Shouta snorted and lightly shoved Hizashi off. "What makes you so certain I'll be wearing a dress?"

"You're the one who brought it up, I assumed you wanted to."

   "I'm debating."

   "The girls are gonna fliiip."

"Don't you dare tell them, we still have to figure out where this wedding is even going to be held, and it can't be someplace public."

"The kids are already brainstorming." Hizashi took Shouta's hands in his. "You can hash things out with them in homeroom tomorrow."

"Maybe we should tell them we'll be grading their papers extra hard just to scare them into keeping their grades up."

"Aw, c'mon, they're already organizing an entire wedding for us."

"... Okay fine, but I'll heavily imply it, and if one of them starts failing, they're uninvited."

   "Harsh."

"You wouldn't have married me if you didn't like it."

"Very true. So, can we go cajole Midnight into talking her turn with the dishes?"

   "Absolutely."

Notes:

Oh boy! I had this idea and the impulse was too strong. Be prepared for a lotta fluff and a lotta dialogue, because that's what this one's gonna be reL heavy on!
I think I'm gonna enjoy this~
