This was it, this was the night he was going to do it. They have been dating for two months now, but they still haven’t kissed.. Giyuu said he wanted to take it slow, which was partly true, but he was admittedly nervous. Inosuke had never kissed anyone before, and he didn’t feel like he deserved to be his first. But, they have been able to stay together this long, so…
They had just made a late run to the grocery store to get beer after Uzui and his partners drank most of it, leaving little for them, Tanjiro, and Kyojuro. Since Tanjiro and Kyojuro were cooking, Giyuu and Inosuke volunteered to go out.
It was late, the empty sidewalk they were walking on was brightly lit up by Christmas lights, reflecting off the ice covered streets. Their breath came out in small white puffs every time they breathed or talked. Giyuu had almost slipped on ice earlier, but luckily Inosuke caught him. Inosuke clung on to his arm since, insisting he had to make sure Giyuu didn’t fall again.
“Fuck, it’s freezing,” Inosuke muttered, rubbing his hands together as he shivered.
“I told you to bring gloves.”
“I don’t need em,” He said, grabbing Giyuu’s empty hand and leaning his head against his shoulder, making the older man blush.
Suddenly, a small snowflake landed on the tip of Inosuke’s nose. “Oh,” Giyuu gasped, both of them stopping and looking up. “It’s snowing,” He said, looking up and watching the snow begin to gently fall to the Earth.
He watched Inosuke stare up in amazement, lifting his hand to catch some of the snowflakes. He looked so beautiful, the white specks catching in his dark hair, his wide eyes sparkling in the Christmas lights, and his face had the cutest, surprised expression on his face. Who would not want to kiss him right now?
“Inosuke,” Giyuu breathed out, pulling the teen in front of him, reaching up to cup Inosuke’s pale face.
“Yeah?” Inosuke asked, looking up at him. Giyuu felt his heart hammering against his chest, hesitating slightly.
He pushed his anxiety to the back of his mind and leaned down, lightly pressing his lips against Inosuke’s, which were surprisingly soft and warm. Giyuu kept his eyes open, looking for any discomfort, but Inosuke seemed...calm. He slowly closed his eyes and relaxed, humming contentedly in the kiss as he reached up and ran his hand through Giyuu’s long hair, pulling him closer. So, Giyuu closed his eyes too and relaxed into the kiss, enjoying the warmth.
They pulled away, with Giyuu still cupping Inosuke’s face, brushing his thumb over his lips and watching snow get caught in his long lashes. The teen cheeks were a deep red, his brows furrowed as he pouted and looked up at Giyuu. “What?”
“...You’re cute when you’re flustered.”
Inosuke huffed and buried his head into Giyuu’s chest, gripping his jacket tightly. “Fuck you,” He grumbled. Giyuu chuckled and wrapped his arms around Inosuke, placing a small kiss on top of his head.
“...I love you,” Inosuke whispered, balling his fists into Giyuu’s jacket.
Giyuu’s heart leapt up to his throat and choked him, he almost dropped the beer out of shock. Did he hear that right? Did he actually hear that?
“Are you gonna say something?” Inosuke grumbled, placing his chin on Giyuu’s chest to look up at him.
Giyuu gave a soft smile and leaned down to kiss him again, lingering a bit longer than the last kiss. “I love you too,” He said as he pulled away. Inosuke grinned up at him, before cringing when a snowflake fell in one of his eyes. “We should get back before the others worry about us,” Giyuu said, chuckling and grabbing Inosuke’s hand as he rubbed his eye with the other.
“Yeah, if they eat all the food after we went out to buy them beer I’ll fight them.”
“You know what, I’ll let you.”
