    Canute opened his eyes, turning his head to look at Thorfinn. Thorfinn immediately looked over, stopping his sharpening. Canute turned away and buried the side of his face in his pillow.

    "Did I interrupt your beauty sleep?" Thorfinn said mockingly, clashing his knives together loudly one more time. Canute sat up and glared.

    Thorfinn's eyes narrowed. "What's wrong, princess? Is there a pea under your mattress?" He grinned and waved his hand, knife balanced in palm.
