Kakashi goes missing. Obito goes missing. Tobi is found.[“Despite everything I just said, there’s nothing wrong with him. There’s no seal that’s preventing him from talking. Cognitively, he’s okay. He should be functioning normally, just—everything is happening twice for him and I don’t know why.”
Everything is happening twice, huh?
Sakumo thinks back to the hospital and the word salad that came in answer to his question. If everything is happening twice, he wonders if Tobi tries giving two separate answers as well.]
2. Outside In
Kakashi and Obito go missing the same day. Sakumo continues to search for Kakashi, even after Hiruzen calls off the search after two staggeringly long months. Kakashi and Obito return as Tobi. Minato is a smart cookie who recognises first that there are two of them in there. The ANBU better find Orochimaru first, otherwise Sakumo's going to fucking shank him. Tenzo is coaxed out of the tree-riddled orphanage with sweets, and claims himself a dad. Gai cottons on to Tobi's situation.[“You can speak now,” Minato observes as he unravels a scroll, scans its content, shakes his head and tries another. “I’m relieved.”
Tobi scratches their cheek awkwardly. “I had to figure out how. It was too hard before.”
“I suppose it would be,” Minato acknowledges, reading over the symbols on one of his key sketches. “There’s a lot to figure out with two of you in there, I’ll bet.”
Tobi’s eyes widen and they snap around to face the blond. They don’t know what to say or how to act, and even Kakashi can’t keep the shock off their face. Words die in their throat as Obito demands an explanation and Kakashi fights to keep calm.
Minato notices the staring and rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. “It was bugging me for days,” he confesses. “Your chakra signature. It’s a mess. But if you break it down into parts, it starts to make sense. Part of it feels remarkably like the White Fang’s, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that wasn’t quite right.
“Then one night, I was out on a mission. I won’t go into detail, but something reminded me of you, Kakashi, and then I realized it. It matches your chakra signature so closely. There’s some Inuzuka in there. Who else carries both of those bloodlines?”
Tobi doesn’t know what to say, so they just keep staring, mouth agape, until they can collect their thoughts and clear their throat. “Oh.”
Minato looks proud of himself. Annoyingly so. “And since the other section has Uchiha and another, unrecognizable marker in it, I think it’s safe to assume it’s Obito in there with you, right?”
“You make me sound like a lazy freeloader.”
Minato laughs and raises placating hands. “I don’t mean it like that, honest.”]

[Sakumo is okay with that. Even if it hurts. He’s okay.
“I’m sorry.”
“Hm?” He’s rubbing their back, smoothing circles into their shirt, and he’s practically pulled them into his lap, but they don’t seem to mind.
“I didn’t,” it’s Kakashi, this quiet way they’re speaking, even and heartbreaking, “I didn’t mean any of it. What I said. I just—”
Sakumo isn’t sure what they’re talking about. It doesn’t register. He just listens, wordless, as he hugs them.
“They kept saying things about you and I started to believe it. I didn’t… understand. What you did back then.” It really is Kakashi. It’s more Kakashi than it’s ever been, and this is more than Kakashi has ever said, and Sakumo doesn’t know what to say in turn. “I don’t think… you did anything wrong. You helped people. Like you always have. I’m sorry, Dad. I was wrong.”
Sakumo can’t speak, so he just squeezes his boy tighter, closer, resting his chin atop their head, comfortable and warm. He laughs, too, as words he never needed are said anyway, and it feels like a heavy burden has been lifted.
He doesn’t think of these words as a kindness, but a warning. Sakumo has sons now. Two of them, even if everyone else sees one. Two boys, so different but so similar, and he can pick them apart even if they share a face and mind. Even if no one else can. Right now, more than anything, his sons are seeking comfort and warmth in a world that no longer makes sense to them.
He cannot bear the thought of leaving them behind.]

Tim gets burned every single time.[More tears slip out, even though Tim’s face stays blank, and he rubs them away impatiently, like they’re an inconvenience and not the very things making Bruce’s stomach churn.
“Tim. Are you okay? I –“
“I’m fine. Can you go?” Tim says, level, like he’s asking for a cup of coffee. “Please?”
“Tim-“
“Get out, Bruce.” Tim snaps, picks his keys up off the floor and throws them on the counter, glaring at the takeout sitting innocently on the counter before turning red eyes back to him, simmering with hurt and anger. “Next time you decide to remember I exist, call first.”]
["Alfred, can I sit in here with you? Please?" He pleads, leaning heavily on the door of Alfred's private quarters, not able to keep the tremble out of his voice. He was doing better, until suddenly he wasn't and he can't stop shaking as his skin sears, and he thinks he'll puke if he can't escape the sheer amount of activity in the manor right now.
A few minutes later, he's apologizing as he does indeed puke in Alfred's private bathroom, and the older man shushes him and keeps talking about the book he's reading to distract him.
"I thought it was over." He sobs out into the bathmat when he's done, clenching his teeth against the pain. "I want it to be over."
"It will not be forever." Alfred soothes, wiping the sweat from his brow and petting his arm, and it reminds him so much of Bruce the first day he'd gotten hit that he cries even harder, and then has to pull himself up to throw up some more.]

Headcanons, Drabbles, Ficlets and Things That Aren't Quite Either by Sif (Rosae)
1, 47. Katsuki's Quirk: Fear/panic quirk villain would fail cuz Katsuki literally has no chill ever. Also, Katsuki's high adrenaline levels make Toga go feral, and helps Tamaki go on a fucking rampage.
4. Todobaku: The question "Are you two dating" should not having varying answers depending on who you ask.
6. Deaging Shenanigans: Katsuki was terrifying even as a 7 year old. Dabi is a big softy for deaged!Shouto.
9. Nomu!Tsubasa AU: Tsubasa gets a better ending.
10, 14. The Stress Grip: Hawks inadvertently stress grips Tomura and Dabi out of being evil. If it works, it works.
12, 18-20, 25-26, 54, 65. Katsuki's Kidnappings: Katsuki got kidnapped a lot as a kid and thought it was normal. Everyone around him is shocked and horrified.
13. Dadzawa & Katsuki Fluff: A conversation after the hideout raid. “As awful as it sounds, I’m glad it was you.”
21. Katsuki & Eri (Babysitting disasters): Katsuki and Shouto both had shitty childhoods, but in opposite directions. This means that they end up canceling each other out.
28. LOV & Katsuki Stuff: The LOV see Katsuki's home life and kidnap him again, but like, morally justified this time. Or, because Tomura wanted a higher ranking on his kidnapping experience list.
30. DabiHawks Fluffy Stuff: Cute soulmate AU, and Dabi isn't really trying to be subtle and gets confused when everyone else realises he's Touya.
31, 35. Personality Swapped Katsuki: Morally ambiguous Katsuki fucks with the media and LoV in fantastic ways.
32. The Lying Quirk: “I trust you.”
33. Katsuki's Dog (Mamoru): Katsuki's dog is a good boi but nitroglycerin does not mix well with open wounds.
34, 40, 48. Silly LOV Stuff: The LOV make kidnapping Katsuki an annual event, Katsuki is a near-instant Toga detector, and certain LOV members did not receive a comprehensive education.
36. Crack Touya Reveal AU: Enji actively tries to parent Dabi after his reveal. “Your mother wants to meet your new friends too Touya. Touya, don’t run from this conversation.”
37, 39. Nomu!Jeanist: Katsuki lies that he and Nomu!Jeanist are infiltrating the heroes, and rescues his mentor.
38, 55. On The Making Of A Villain: Dabi actually makes progress on converting Katsuki into a villain through the power of basic decency and positive reinforcement. Hawks picks up the slack as a mentor figure, and Loses His Shit at All-Might.
41. Double Agent Katsuki AU: The hero commission tries to pick Katsuki as their double agent instead of Hawks and it ends Poorly For Them.
42, 45. Katsuki & Miruko: Miruko is cool.
50-51, 56, 59. Fuyumi Goes Feral AU: Where she makes the LOV better in general. Fuyumi has the Todoroki conspiracy gene, Hawks' boyfriend looks like her dead brother, and several people are gay for the Todorokis.
53. The Red Sneaker Theory: Gaining a quirk later in life doesn't remove your extra toe joint. Shigaraki wears bright red sneakers.
54. Post Blue Core Kidnapping DabiHawks!Fluff: “Because if I bring him back, if any hero brings him back, he won’t be returning to UA. At all.” The boys have a moment as Touya and Keigo, and guess they'll have to take down the Hero Commision now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
57-58. Dabi Is Touya (But Nobody Bothered To Tell Him That): Dabi is so good at keeping his pre-Dabi identity a secret, that he doesn't even know who he was.
60. Fake Fics: Katsuki was prepared for a lot of things when he agreed to infiltrate a dangerous organization by pretending to become a villain himself. He was not prepared for over half his fucking class and the two idiots from his remedial courses to follow him.
61, 63. Katsuki Shimura AU: Tenko Shimura is Katsuki's distant cousin who gets custody of him due to some old laws, and is actually? a really good guardian??
64. Reverse Kidnapping AU: Small!Katsuki nabs Tenko, and hides a whole-ass child in his house for years.
65. The Trial Quirk: The class has to give advice on situations from their own past.
66. A Villain Born From Silence: Dabi makes a bet with Katsuki that, even though he's the goddamn victim, nobody will tell him the kidnapping wasn't his fault. -

Summary
Every myth contains a grain of truth. Every legend begins with a story. Every fantastical tale is real in some fashion.

Civilians have always claimed that Ninja are inhuman. (The civilian rumours are not wrong.) The Ninja have always dismissed the accusations. (They should not have.)Just because Ninja are mostly human now does not mean that is the way it has always been...
... Or that it will remain that way.
1. Blood Price
Tobirama ain't dead, and he's bringing Madara and all their little siblings along with him. Also, Tobirama's little brothers are nocturnal peach trees, and Madara's little brothers are eggs.[Tobirama frowned, uneasy in the utter silence that surrounded him. The tiny boat moored to Tobirama’s side of the River was still, no lapping waves, no hush of wind. Not a single thing made noise even as Hashirama’s ever-more distant figure grew violently energetic, almost frantic in his attempt to communicate across the breadth of the water.
“Do not speak.” Moving was harder than it seemed it should be, but Tobirama managed to turn his head away from the far shore, eyes wide with shock. “Your last breath is not yet spent, Tobirama, so keep it behind your teeth for now.”
An unbearable pressure sat in the back of Tobirama’s throat, but Tobirama was long used to bearing unbearable things. Jaw locked, lips sealed tight, Tobirama dipped his chin in silent compliance.]
2. Still Waters Run
The Sage of Six Paths is an arrogant, arrogant man. He receives divine judgment.[Hagoromo shook his head once again, mind reeling. “But gods are just myths.”
“Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” The Inugami bared her fangs, the strength of Tenrou in her spirit.
“You were blind to all things but what you had decreed deserving of truth.” The Crane Wife scoffed, her spirit bound to immortality with love and loyalty that defied death.]
5. Come Away
Zetsu needs to fuck off, Kakashi gets mauled by some tree branches and meets a full-blooded Hatake, Obito goes batshit with his new power, and Rin realises why the Academy's section on Uchiha Courtship was three times the length of any other Clan. Also, little Kakashi is carried like a pretty princess.6. Quoth the Raven
In which the Chunin Exams become an impromptu Kage Summit, the Hokage role is split between all three Sannin, a missing-nin and zombie invasion occurs, two of Konoha's founders are still around (if away) and making Konoha a kinder place, and the other nations are baffled by Konoha's unanimous hatred of their only traitor Danzo. Also Edo Tensei fails lol.[“Nidaime-sama looks…” Sakumo coughed to cover the vengeful cackle that wanted to escape as Shimura was beaten into the ground without mercy. “Ah, he looks rather displeased.”
“My husband does not take disappointment well.” Was Madara’s dry agreement. “Between the personal betrayal, the broken oaths, and the blatantly disrespectful Invocation, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tobirama eats him.”
Hashirama sputtered. “What?”
“What?” Madara scowled at the flailing revenant. “I married him more than fifty years ago, Hashirama. It’s a little late to be taking offense now!”
“Not that! Congratulations by the way, it’s about time! I meant the other thing!” Hashirama pulled at his own hair in frustration. “Tobi doesn’t eat people! If you’re married to him now why’re you still spreading mean lies about my little brother?”
A beat. Two. Madara’s eyes slid away from Hashirama. “Oh look, the plant creature is trying to escape.”]
[“If you need us again… Invoke our names.” Tobirama looked at his former students, those who had managed to stay true, and smiled.
“Just remember to lay in the proper offerings if you do!” Tossing back dark hair, Madara rolled his eyes. “Honestly, it’s like no one knows how to properly honour a god anymore.”]
