“Wait, wait, wait!”
A hand pushed against Momo’s cheek, shoving her face away. Her future snack scooted away and back against the pillows. The other girl pushed her hair behind her cheek and tilted her head, revealing her slim neck again. Momo’s mouth watered, but she hated fights.
“I’m not in for that sort of commitment,” the Omega said. She covered her neck with her hand and gave an apologetic smile. “No marks, okay? I’m here for some fun, not bonding.”
Momo dug her fingers into the sheets. “Neither am I! Bonding was not on my mind.”
The other girl narrowed her eyes. “You just wanted to bite my neck for fun.”
“Yes?” Momo asked. She pulled the sheet over her lap and crossed her finger beneath it. The system she devised was easy: Lure them in, seduce them, bite the neck, drink her fill, and the victim slips into a deep sleep while they recuperate. Momo slips away with a full belly and the comfort that her snack would wake none the wiser in the morning. Easy. Or it should have been. “I’m into biting. Is that a problem?”
“Cute, but I’ve heard that line before,” the Omega said. She crossed her arms and tilted her head to the side. “Alpha love leaving boding bites and they’ll use whatever excuse to get it.”
Momo’s system had never worked.
Because she was an Alpha.
“I won’t leave a mark,” Momo said, putting a hand over her own chest. “I promise.”
The Omega did not budge—like always. “No biting.”
Momo’s shoulders deflated. “Of course.”
She attempted to bite the girl a second time, hoping that the girl would be too lost in the daze of her blood being drained to realize what had happened, but got caught Momo an inch from her neck.
The Omega left Momo alone with an empty belly and a pillow ripped in half.
Momo needed to eat.
She sat at the cafe table and dropped her head on the warm surface. The sun beat hard on her head, fighting to pass through the sunhat protecting her from the dangerous rays. Momo fiddled with her gloves under the table and closed her eyes.
Why did feeding have to be such a complicated event?
Why did Omega have to smell the best of everyone?
Alpha blood tasted horrible. Beta tasted bland and didn’t keep her filled for nearly as long. Neither was worth the effort it took to feed off them.
Other Vampires didn’t have this problem.
They didn’t have to deal with Omega shoving Momo away, afraid of commitment and bonding bites. Those Vampires didn’t respect the wishes of their victims. They cornered their prey, subdued them by force, fed, and then went along their merry way.
But Momo couldn’t stand that flash of fear that dripped from the Omega’s delicious scent. It ruined her appetite and the fear in their eyes made her feel like a monster.
The other vampires, however, were the ones with full bellies.
“Why is getting an Omega so hard?” Momo sat up in a rush, slamming her fists on the table. “This would be so much easier if I was a brute!”
“You’re a few centuries too late if you think any Omega would find that appealing in this day and age.” Behind her, an Omega with messy blond hair and bright red eyes stared her down. He slouched with hands in his pockets and snorted before he strolled over and sat across from her. “That’s an old fashioned desire, isn’t it?”
Momo forced her shoulders to relax and licked her lip. Her empty stomach made his already delicious scent even more appealing. “Oh?”
“Omega these days want a gentle touch and are sick of the machismo that came along with Alpha acting like brutes,” the Omega said. He dropped his head onto the back of his and slid down in his seat. “It’s funny you’d want to emulate that. Most Alpha are too scared to play rough out when there’s a chance their Omega will sprint for the hills to get away.”
The Omega sounded bored.
But he sat down.
He was interested.
“What about you?” Momo asked. She dropped her elbows on the table and rested her chin on the back of her laced fingers. She watched the other Omega through the dark lenses of her sunglasses and smiled. “Is that what you want? A meek and gentle Alpha?”
“Hell no,” the Omega said, grinning bright. “In fact, the rougher the better.”
Momo bit her lip. “What do you think about biting?”
The Omega pulled down the edge of his shirt, revealing a slew of Marks. “I collect them.”
Momo snorted and covered her mouth to hide her elongated canines. How fortunate! What a delightful little treat had fallen into her lap—she should vent her frustrations more often.
“Do you want to get out of here and teach this meek little Alpha to play rough?”
“I know just the place.”
Momo stayed the night.
The pleasure had been intense and the taste of his blood divine. She’d forgotten the sheer joy of her fangs breaking skin and the cry of a pleased Omega as she drank. Momo left a hickey over the incisions after her meal, happy to leave a lasting mark on such a wonderful bedmate.
She stretched under the sheets and rubbed a hand over her full stomach. Momo watched her hand, the skin flush and warm and full of life.
Katsuki stirred beside her when the morning light fell on his half of the bed. He sat up and yawned, mouth wide and eyes full of sleep. He rubbed it away before scratching his chest.
“Morning,” Momo said. She rolled on her side and grinned into the pillow. “How are you feeling?”
She expected lethargy and dizziness. Momo may have taken more than she should, and wanted to make sure that her adorable—delicious—Omega was all right.
“Awesome,” Katsuki said. He cracked his neck and swayed as he moved, dizzy as expected. He recovered quickly and scooted to the edge of the bed. “You’re stronger than you look.”
“I am an Alpha,” Momo said. Being a vampire didn’t hurt, either. “But I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.”
Katsuki grunted and stood. He held his arms out to steady himself before slapping both cheeks with his palms. Momo kept an eye on him in case she needed to catch him, but he got it together and shuffled to the attached bath.
Momo closed her eyes and listened in case he fell. She continued to enjoy the feeling of fullness and her own brand of laziness that came from good food and good sex.
“Hey!”
The shout from the bathroom startled Momo and she shot up. She held the sheet over her chest and stared at the angry Omega in the doorway. “What? Are you okay?”
“Where the heck is my mark?” Katsuki pointed at his neck, waving his finger at the hickey. The small incisions from her drinking bite had already healed over, fading to nearly nothing. “You bit me!”
Momo covered her mouth and laughed, falling back into the pillows.
The Omega tackled her on the bed, demanding to know where his newest collector’s mark had gone. Momo grinned and grabbed his wrists, flipping him over to pin him to the bed.
The show of strength took his breath away and she leaned down to nuzzle his nose. “Why don’t I fix that for you?”
She tilted Katsuki’s head back and sunk her teeth into his neck, careful not to take more blood than what dribbled free from the cut skin. Katsuki moaned under her and she pulled him closer.
Katsuki’s fingers dug into her back; he asked for more.
Momo decided to keep this one and left the bonding bite her Omega wanted.
