Summary
Sixty-seven years after its maiden voyage, your grandson invites you to tell its story, ostensibly on his dime. He and his cohorts have spent the last three years searching for the Red Stone of Aja, a valuable gemstone said to be worth more than the Hope Diamond. You never told him you were a survivor, and you can only imagine that he wished he had found out in any way other than that picture — that damned picture. When you close your eyes, you can still remember laying down to have it done. You remember those shimmering green eyes as they roamed over your body, committing its lines to memory and paper. You never spoke of those eyes, nor their owner, to anyone before. There is, of course, a first time for everything.
