Work Text:

The flashing lights of the paparazzi cameras were never as bright as the smile of the man they were constantly trying to get pictures of. Amongst the screaming fans and news reporters, Klavier Gavin stepped out of the courthouse and made his way toward his motorcycle, all smiles and waves to those waiting to greet him. The Rockstar Prosecutor had recently released some new music to start off his solo career, and with all the cases he was deciding to take as of late, the press knew just where to find him in order to try and get some info out of him.

Apollo Justice followed him out, taking note of how everyone’s eyes were always on his boyfriend, despite how he himself had been winning many cases and really making a name for himself in the eyes of the law. He wasn’t jealous of the attention Klavier was getting, the man deserved it. Besides, he only needed the recognition of the man who was currently holding his hand anyway.

But even though Apollo wasn’t jealous of the screaming fans and press, there was one thing that seemed to really push his buttons when it came to Klavier…

Someone managed to ask a question that piqued Klavier’s interest, which wasn’t unusual, but the reporter caught Apollo off guard. She was young and gorgeous, her body language flirtatious as she spoke with his boyfriend. He watched as Klavier laughed and blushed at the compliments she gave him. Apollo knew Klavier was pansexual, he probably found her incredibly attractive, and that usually wouldn’t bother the attorney, but he found himself scowling as Klavier chuckled and ran his fingers through his bangs, smiling brightly at the woman.

His hand tightened on Klavier’s, which seemed to get the message through. Klavier apologized to the reporter, but explained that he had somewhere to be, and pulled Apollo through the rest of the crowd, only stopping once they actually got to his bike. Once they were alone, the blonde turned to face his love, a twinkle in his eye.

He reached out, cradling Apollo’s jaw in his hand, “Herr Forehead, was I detecting a bit of jealousy back there?”

Apollo was blushing in embarrassment, batting Klavier’s hand away as he refused to meet his gaze, “N-no… why would I be jealous?”

Klavier laughed softly and leaned in close, “Well that’s what I’m trying to figure out… you know you have no reason to be, ja?”

He cupped Apollo’s face in his hands and kissed his forehead, causing the attorney’s face to turn even redder.

“Liebling, you have no reason to ever be jealous. You should know by now that I only have eyes for you.”

All it ever took were those words of reassurance and the jealousy quickly faded from Apollo. He nodded and kissed Klavier sweetly. He knew those words to be true.

Sometimes it was a very bold, very rude fan. They were rare, but they were annoying all the same, and they had a tendency to pop up literally anywhere! Including while Apollo and Klavier were on dates.

While standing outside their favorite restaurant, waiting for their name to be called, a fan called out to Klavier and walked over. At first they seemed to just be a normal fan, wanting an autograph, maybe a picture. Apollo didn’t mind, he was used to it at this point.

What he wasn’t used to was said fan leaning awfully close to Klavier, them reaching out to playfully hit his shoulder, and them offering him a drink once he got to the bar inside.

Apollo was fuming, his chest tight with anger, but just as he was about to step in, Klavier held a hand up to the intruder, his other hand snaking around Apollo’s waist and pulling him close.

“You must excuse me, but I happen to be here with my lovely boyfriend, Apollo Justice.” Klavier said cooly, “Since you’re such a big fan, you must have heard about him already, ja? I mean, I’ve written so many songs about him! There’s no way you haven’t!”

Apollo was suddenly blushing brightly. Klavier was clearly shoving his point right into this person’s face so that, no matter how oblivious they may have been up that point, they had to understand now that Klavier was pretty much, in the nicest way possible, telling them to get lost.

The fan stood in shock, jaw hung open as Klavier walked past them, arm still lovingly wrapped around Apollo. Thankfully, they just happened to be called inside then, and they were led to a table in the back of the restaurant. Apollo’s cheeks were still red as they sat across from each other, only illuminated by the room’s dim lighting and the candle in the middle of their table.

“I have to apologize, Schatzi.” Klavier said as soon as their waitress left them alone, “I never imagined a fan would be so bold. Not in front of you anyway.”

“No, no, it’s oka-” Apollo paused, “Not in front of me? Are they usually this forward when I’m not around??!”

Klavier chuckled, albeit a little nervously, while running a hand through his bangs, “Ach, Liebling, some may be so bold, but they all know that I am taken.”

Apollo knew he was right, and that Klavier would always let people know he had a boyfriend, but he still frowned. It still bothered him.

“Apollo,” Klavier reached across the table for his hand, “You know I only have eyes for you, ja?”

Apollo nodded, taking Klavier’s hand, “I do, but… I just hate seeing it. I… I don’t like it when people flirt with you.”

Klavier smiled softly, running his thumb over Apollo’s knuckles, “I know, and I’m sorry you have to deal with it. Believe me, if I could stop it completely, I would.”

“I know.” Apollo said.

Klavier leaned over the table, bringing the back of Apollo’s hand to his lips and kissing gently. When he pulled back, he looked at the attorney with a small smirk, “I must say, though, Mein Liebster… you do look quite adorable when you’re jealous.”

Apollo looked away, grumbling, “It’s not jealousy, I just don’t like it!”

Klavier tossed his head back and laughed, “Whatever you say, my dearest Forehead.”

Another court case win in the books for Apollo Justice, and despite Klavier losing, he couldn’t be more proud. After all, the truth had been brought to light, and that was what mattered most.

Klavier made his way to the defense lobby to congratulate his boyfriend and maybe tag along with him and the Wrights to Eldoon’s, but when he walked in, what he saw made him forget the greeting he was going to say.

The defendant, Apollo’s client, was standing very close to Apollo. The look on his face was very familiar to Klavier, as well as the body posture: relaxed, playful, and much too comfortable.

Klavier stood and watched for a moment as the man laughed loudly at something Apollo said and reached out to place his hand on his shoulder. A shudder ran through Klavier and he suddenly felt an emotion he definitely wasn’t used to. One that he was constantly picking on Apollo about.

Jealousy.

It also didn’t help that Apollo didn’t seem to realize what was happening. Klavier attributed that to the man’s unfortunate low self-esteem, which was something he didn’t understand. Apollo was an amazing person, he could get anyone he wanted easily, and whoever had him should consider themselves the luckiest person alive… Klavier sure did.

It was when the man pulled out his phone and started to hand it to Apollo when Klavier rushed forward, wrapping an arm around his boyfriend’s shoulders.

“Ah! Here you are, Herr Forehead! I was hoping I’d catch you before you left!”

Apollo squeaked in surprise and was about to say something when Klavier leaned down and captured his lips in a passionate kiss. The smaller man made another small noise before kissing Klavier back. He was never one for public displays of affection, but it wasn’t like they were outside in actual public or anything. There were maybe four people in the lobby, including the two of them.

Klavier smiled to himself when he pulled back, seeing Apollo at a loss for words and blushing madly. He turned to look at the defendant and feigned surprise with a gasp.

“Oh! I am so sorry! I didn’t realize you were standing there!” Klavier said, pulling Apollo close to his side, “Congratulations on your not-guilty verdict, but I’m afraid my boyfriend and I are late for our date tonight!”

The man stared at him wide eyed, sputtering as he tried to make conversation once more. Klavier didn’t give him the chance though, and made a small wave at him before pulling Apollo out of the lobby and down the hall.

“K-Klavier! What was that about?” Apollo asked as he finally found his voice.

Klavier didn’t say anything as he continued walking.

Apollo glared and firmly planted his feet on the ground, pulling back against Klavier, “Hey! Stop it!”

Klavier paused as soon as he felt the resistance. He turned to face Apollo, “Liebling, I thought you’d want to go eat with Fraulein Magician to celebrate your win. There’s no use in waiting around here.”

Apollo’s brow furrowed in confusion. He stared at Klavier, pulling his hand away from him to rub at the spot below his bracelet.

“What is going on with you, I was talking to my client!”

Klavier waved his hand dismissively, “Ach, I’m sure he was just thanking you for doing such a wonderful job of defending him, ja?”

Apollo squinted as he stared at his boyfriend, “Actually, he was talking to me about… wait-”

Klavier felt himself start sweating as he could practically see gears turning in Apollo’s head. He was pretty sure he stopped breathing when realization flashed in his eyes, and smirk appeared on his lips.

“Oh my god… you were jealous!

Klavier gaped at him, a hand immediately moving to where his hair rested on his shoulder. “I was NOT! I have nothing to be jealous about!”

Apollo’s smirk deepened and he chuckled, “Gotcha… you always play with your hair when you’re nervous, Klavier. You know you can’t hide that from me.”

Klavier’s hand moved away from his hair as though it had burned him. His cheeks tinged pink.

“Ach! I just… don’t like the vibe that guy gives off is all!”

Apollo chuckled and shook his head, taking Klavier’s hand once again. He stepped closer and reached up with his other hand, cupping Klavier’s cheek.

“Klavier… you have no reason to be jealous. You know I only have eyes for you.”

Klavier blushed brighter and grumbled under his breath as Apollo repeated his own words back to him. Words that he’d told him several times, and meant them. To hear them now from his boyfriend was embarrassing… but somewhere behind all that, he couldn’t deny it was comforting.

“Though I can’t lie, you do look cute when you’re jealous.”

He laughed as Klavier rolled his eyes and muttered something unintelligible.

“Still,” He continued, “Green isn’t your color, Klavier.”

Apollo stood on his toes to kiss Klavier softly before smiling and leading them out of the courthouse.
