    Summary

I’ve thought about how I’ll die.
Everyone in our work does. I always assumed I’d die bloody, and it was fine by me, so long as it was with blood on my knuckles, a gun in my hand, and the thing that got me lying at my feet.
I’d considered demons and ghosts and werewolves and revenants. I’d assumed a quick and painful death at the blade of a claw or the point of a fang, and I was at peace with that.
    Well, no.
I was at peace with that when I was staring at it from the bottom of a bottle. But I’d accepted it.
Instead, I died slowly - almost painlessly - at the hands of the one person I loved most in this world. The one person I trusted with more than just my life.
I stared across the darkened room into the eyes of the hunter, and he looked pleasantly back at me.
Even standing at the mouth of the abyss, I couldn’t be angry at the betrayal.
It's exactly what I would have done to protect the people I loved.

This is not a Twilight fanfiction. Rather, this is a Supernatural fanfiction set to the tune of Eclipse. It follows a very alternate Canon for both beginning about eight episodes into Season 2 of SPN and works as an entire rewrite of Book 3.
