Work Header

my muse, my canvas

Summary:

Art student Jungkook has been using Hoseok as his muse for a couple years now. He’s been falling more deeply in love with him with every new drawing he made of the older. But lately, it’s become harder and harder for Jungkook to concentrate on the task of drawing and not on the strong desire to kiss Hoseok’s pouty lips.

Notes:

This idea popped in my head while I was trying to sleep and I somehow got really invested into it. I hope you enjoy this little one-shot.
Also little waring so it's not confusing: there will be many time skips; these are just some small peeks at how they fell in love throughout the years.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Jungkook has been drawing since he was thirteen. Well, he’s loved drawing since he was a little kid, but at thirteen he found out what making art really meant.

The first time he had realized what real art was was when he had overheard his best friends, Taehyung and Jimin, talk about an art exhibition. Taehyung has always babbled about art, but Jungkook had never really cared about art exhibitions and things like that, so he didn’t pay much attention to what he had been saying.

But this time, Jungkook got a little bit offended because Jimin and Taehyung had been planning on going to that art exhibition without him. In the end he tagged along, not keen on missing spending more time with his closest friends.

That simple decision, made probably out of the fear of being left out, changed his life drastically.

He discovered this different world. He loved the colors and how abstract art could be. How much depth there was to it, how you could interpret art in many ways, depending on your mood, your personality or your experiences.

That day, when he had arrived back home, he went directly to his mother and asked her to buy him art supplies. She was surprised at first, but the next day when Jungkook got home from school, his bed was full of drawing pencils, markers, watercolors, different types of brushes and drawing blocks.

Since then, Jungkook had found his passion. He tried different styles, different methods of making art.

His favorite remained simple pencil drawings.

He always had his sketchbook with him, making little drawings on the white pages whenever he felt like it.

That’s how he met Hoseok.

One day, while Jungkook was seated in a booth at his favorite small coffee shop, sipping slowly from his favorite sweet beverage, he got bored waiting for Jimin and Taehyung. He got a pencil and his sketchbook out of his bag and silently looked around, trying to find something to draw.

His eyes landed on a joyous heart shaped smile. Jungkook’s heart warmed at the sight. His gaze traveled over the boy’s face with curiosity. The boy was smiling so big his eyes turned into small crescents, crinkles forming at the edges; it made Jungkook’s lips stretch into a smile unconsciously. His brown hair was messy from the boy pushing his hand through it too many times, but it made his appearance look even softer.

Without thinking much about it, Jungkook started drawing the beautiful boy. He tried his best to not be too obvious, taking small peeks at the boy from time to time to make sure he got the details right.

At some point the smiling boy got up from his table and went to the bathroom, but by that time Jungkook was almost done with his drawing.

He was concentrating on the final touches, when he felt a presence lurking behind him.

A heartbeat later, a joyful voice spoke. “Wow, that’s really beautiful!” the male voice exclaimed.

Jungkook was a little startled, but he regained his composure quickly and turned towards the boy.

His eyes widened when he came face to face with the beautiful boy he had just been drawing. A deep blush spread over his cheeks. “O-oh,” he stuttered. “I’m sorry if this seems creepy. Your smile was just really beautiful and I couldn’t help myself,” Jungkook blurted out then bowed his head in embarrassment.

The boy before him chuckled at his behavior. “It’s fine,” he assured in a soft tone. Jungkook raised his head to see the boy flash him a big smile. “You’re really talented,” he complimented, making Jungkook blush even more.

“Thank you,” Jungkook murmured, still embarrassed.

The boy took another look at the drawing, then back at Jungkook, the smile never leaving his face. “I’m Hoseok,” he introduced himself, raising his hand towards Jungkook.

The moment Jungkook took a hold of Hoseok’s warm hand, the nervousness he had felt before left his body, making a fuzzy feeling bloom inside of his chest.

“I’m Jungkook.”

And they became friends.

Really close friends.

Jungkook introduced Taehyung and Jimin to Hoseok when they arrived a few minutes later and they immediately loved Hoseok’s bubbly personality.

Then, after hanging out with Hoseok a few times, the older introduced Jungkook to his roommate -Namjoon- and friends -Seokjin and Yoongi-.

And they’ve been seeing each other almost daily since then.

Freshman year of college has been going pretty well for Jungkook. Being an art student wasn’t really the easiest thing, but it was Jungkook’s passion after all, so Jungkook really didn’t mind drawing and learning things about art for hours.

But at some point, Jungkook felt like he lost inspiration.

He had to finish this drawing by the end of the week and he couldn’t even decide on what to draw yet. And it was Wednesday.

The theme was happiness.

Jungkook tried walking around in the park, watching kids playing around or adults happily talking; but it didn’t make him feel anything. It wasn’t personal enough, so Jungkook’s hand didn’t even move over the paper at the sight.

Jungkook has learned during the years he’s been passionate about art that his best work came when it was made with emotions. Whatever he was drawing had to make him feel something to be good enough.

He’s been looking around in his room for hours, a mess of crumpled paper around him because of how many drawings he’d started but didn’t like in the end.

Jungkook realized that he wasn’t getting anywhere this way. He was frustrated and nothing satisfied him.

He needed to relax for a bit.

So he called Hoseok to come over, the boy accepting the invitation immediately.

Fifteen minutes later, Jungkook heard a knock on the door to his apartment. He opened it for Hoseok, who entered swiftly, greeting Jungkook with a joyous smile.

Jungkook’s mood immediately picked up.

Hoseok brought with him takeout, always making sure the younger was eating properly and not just living off of instant ramen.

Both boys were lounging on Jungkook’s couch, the younger listening to Hoseok talk animatedly about something that had happened to Namjoon while he was over at his parent’s house.

And in that moment it hit Jungkook. While watching Hoseok move his hands around, smiling brightly at the funny parts of his story; Jungkook felt a wave of inspiration wash over him.

He jumped from the couch, startling the other boy in his rush. Jungkook disappeared to his room for a few moments then came back in the living room with a big drawing block and a box full of different pencils held tightly in his hands.

Hoseok watched him curiously, not saying anything yet. He waited for Jungkook to explain himself first.

“Hyung, do you mind if I draw you?” the younger asked when he sat back down.

Hoseok was surprised by his request at first, but then chuckled and softly shook his head. “Go ahead,” he permitted, Jungkook immediately beginning to work.

His hand flowed over the white paper so easily, the emotions he had been missing these past days pouring down through his pen.

Hoseok didn’t talk much after that. The boy just sat there on the couch, watching Jungkook do his thing with soft eyes, full of fondness.

The drawing ended up being really beautiful and Jungkook was satisfied with it. And so was his professor when Jeongguk submitted it the next day.

Since that day, Hoseok became Jungkook’s favorite person to draw.

Whenever the two were hanging out, Jungkook found himself taking out his sketchbook and drawing the other boy. Hoseok didn’t mind at all; he was actually quite endeared by Jungkook’s enthusiasm.

“You know, you should pay me for posing for you for so many hours,” Hoseok suggested one day while he was posing on Jungkook’s window sill –at the younger’s request-, his tone teasing.

Jungkook laughed out loud at the older’s words. “Yeah? With what money?” he said, raising his eyes from the drawing to meet Hoseok’s amused ones. “Did you forget I’m the epitome of broke college student living solely on instant ramen?” he asked, amusement laced with his words.

Hoseok shook his head, laughing softly. “There are other methods of payment.”

Jungkook raised his eyebrows in question. “Like?”

The older stopped for a second, thinking about his preferred payment. His nose scrunched, lips stretched in a line making his dimples appear; Jungkook’s heart melted at the sight.

“The payment might change each time. I’ll think more about it,” he answered in the end.

Jungkook nodded in response, an amused smile playing on his lips.

After he finished adding the last bit of details to the drawing, he raised his eyes to watch Hoseok stretch his arms.

“I guess it’s time for pay up?” Jungkook wondered.

Hoseok turned his head towards him, giving him a nod. “Let’s watch a movie and cuddle,” he commended, already taking a seat on Jungkook’s couch and looking for a good movie. Meanwhile, Jungkook walked to his bedroom and took a blanket from his closet.

He came back and sat next to Hoseok, placing the blanket over their legs. Somehow during the movie Jungkook ended up pressed to Hoseok’s side, his head resting on the older’s shoulder, their legs tangled together.

Jungkook was engulfed in warmth, his heart content.

Whenever Jungkook was bored, he ended up at Hoseok’s door. The older got used to it, always happy to have Jungkook keep him company.

Namjoon also loved having Jungkook around, the younger making the atmosphere in their apartment even brighter.

On this particular day, Hoseok opened the door for Jungkook and greeted him with a tired smile. Jungkook noticed right away the dark bags under his eyes and his slumped shoulders, becoming concerned.

“Hyung, are you okay?” he inquired when they entered Hoseok’s bedroom.

The bed was full of scattered papers, some of them having fallen on the floor when Hoseok hurried out of bed to let Jungkook in.

“Yeah,” Hoseok answered. “Just a bit tired. I was up all night researching for a project.”

Jungkook nodded in understanding. He took a few steps closer to the bed, taking a peek at the writing on the papers.

“You know, I’m happy that I decided to major in biology,” Hoseok started, making Jungkook turn his eyes to him. “But man, microbiology has been kicking my ass lately,” he complained, plopping on the bed and making a bigger mess out of it.

Jungkook chuckled and helped him get the papers in order.

After that, Jungkook took a seat on the chair that was in front of the desk, his legs stretched until they reached the bed. The sketchbook was in his lap, a pencil ready in his hand.

Then his eyes wandered to the boy seated on his stomach on the bed, his eyes concentrated on the papers in front of him.

Hoseok’s beautiful brown eyes were moving quickly over the words written, his lips moving without any sound coming out, a constant pout on them. The sight was so endearing it made Jungkook’s heart clench in his chest.

He started drawing to distract himself and to get rid of that sudden weight that overlaid his heart.

An hour later, Jungkook heard shuffling from the bed so he raised his eyes to check on Hoseok.

The older was now on his back, looking at the ceiling and stretching his limbs.

“Sorry I moved. I couldn’t stay in that position anymore,” Hoseok said, his voice raspy.

“I finished the drawing a while ago,” Jungkook told him and Hoseok’s eyes turned to him, confused.

“Why didn’t you say something? You were probably bored just standing there.”

Jungkook shook his head, a small smile on his lips. “It’s fine. I didn’t want to interrupt your study.”

Hoseok sighed. “I still have so much more to do for this project.”

“Can I help you with anything?” Jungkook offered, walking to Hoseok and joining him on the bed.

Hoseok looked at him and thought for a moment. “Hmm, maybe you could do some drawings,” Hoseok thought out loud. “Yeah, that would help me a lot,” he nodded, already up and searching for what to give Jungkook to draw.

Jungkook took the drawing block out of his bag then took a seat at the desk, his back turned to Hoseok. He started drawing all these weird microorganisms –as Hobi called them-, while Hoseok went back to reading.

Another hour passed like that and Jungkook finally finished drawing Hoseok’s microorganisms.

He turned in the chair to see if Hoseok finished reading too, but was met with a sleeping Hoseok sprawled on the bed, his head resting on some of the papers.

Jungkook couldn’t help the smile that appeared on his lips, his heart fluttering in his chest.

He walked to the bed and took away the papers from it, stacking them neatly and placing them on the desk, next to the drawings.

With a little struggle, he arranged Hoseok on the bed in a more comfortable way, covering him with a blanket. He watched Hoseok’s peaceful face for a minute, the way puffs of air were getting in and out through his pouty lips. Jungkook reached his hand and pushed a strand of Hoseok’s hair behind his ear, his heart beating a little bit faster in his chest when the older leaned into his touch.

After collecting his stuff, he walked out of the room in silence.

Namjoon was seated at the kitchen table, drinking a cup of what smelled like jasmine tea. He turned his eyes to Jungkook when he heard the click of Hoseok’s door closing, his eyebrows rising in wonder.

“Where’s Hobi-hyung?” the older questioned, his eyes wandering to Hoseok’s door for a second.

“He fell asleep. He was really tired,” Jungkook explained softly while he put on his shoes, getting ready to leave.

“Oh. Yeah, he’s been studying really hard these days,” Joon affirmed, nodding in understanding.

“Yeah,” Jungkook smiled. “Well, I’m going home. See you, hyung!” he added, opening the front door.

“Bye, Jungkook-ah!” was Joon’s response before Jungkook was out of the apartment.

On the way home, the image of Hoseok’s adorable sleeping face was stuck in his head; and Jungkook couldn’t even be mad about it because it made warmth seep through his body and melt his heart.

Jungkook opened the door to his apartment, Hoseok walking in with a plastic bag in his hand and a takeout bag in the other.

“You got me food!” Jungkook exclaimed, touched. His stomach growled in response to the delicious smell that spread through the room after Hoseok entered.

Hoseok put the bag with food down on the small table in the living room. Jungkook jumped on the couch, excited to finally get something into his stomach.

“Of course I got you food. You would die without me,” Hoseok said in a scolding manner, making Jungkook huff, but still smile.

“How was lunch with Yoongi-hyung?” Jungkook inquired, already having opened a box of stir-fried noodles and another one of marinated beef barbecue and eating with great appetite from both of them.

Hoseok watched the younger swallow, eyes full of fondness; even though he was kind of eating like an animal at the moment. “It was great. He told me about this new song he’s been working on recently and asked me to go over on Friday to check it out and maybe help him with some new ideas,” Hoseok explained nonchalantly, resting his head on the back of the couch while still looking at the younger.

“Woah, that’s great,” Jungkook beamed, his doe eyes shining in the light.

Hoseok smiled, the younger’s excitement completely endearing to him.

“I got you something,” Hoseok remembered after a few moments of silence.

That made Jungkook raise his eyebrows in surprise.

Hoseok reached into the plastic bag he abandoned near the couch –Jungkook forgot about it- and got two packs of banana milk out of it.

“Hyung!” Jungkook shrieked in delight, already reaching towards one of the packs and taking a bottle out.

Hoseok got another pack out of the bag, this time chocolate milk; Jungkook remembered how the older said he doesn’t like banana milk when Jungkook offered it one day when he came over.

“Cheers!” Hoseok said as they clinked their bottles together.

Both boys lazed around on the couch for a while, talking about random things. Jungkook watched Hoseok talk, but his mind didn’t really register the words the boy was saying.

A few moments later, Hoseok turned his head towards Jungkook, this time talking directly to the boy.

“What?” Jungkook asked when he realized that Hoseok told him something and was expecting an answer from him.

Hoseok chuckled softly. “You can draw me if you want,” he repeated.

Jungkook’s eyes widened, embarrassed.

“I noticed you looking at me like you want to draw me,” Hoseok explained, seeing that Jungkook was at a loss of words.

The younger cleared his throat, turning his head away from Hoseok’s gaze.

“It’s okay, Kook-ah. I don’t mind,” he assured, touching Jungkook’s knee to get his attention.

Jungkook felt his skin burning under Hoseok’s touch.

He got up from the couch, Hoseok’s hand falling from his knee in the process.

Jungkook got his drawing block and pencils from his desk, but before returning to the living room, he stopped to take a breath. He tried to push back down these feelings he’s been having since a few months ago whenever he was in Hoseok’s presence, but it was getting harder and harder to ignore how his heart fluttered every time he smiled or how nervous he got whenever Hoseok touched him.

He urged his heart to calm down then walked back into the living room.

Hoseok was watching something on TV, his head propped on one of his hands that was resting on the backrest. The boy’s eyes turned towards Jungkook when he noticed that the younger returned, giving him a small smile.

Jungkook internally scolded his heart for reacting at the simple gesture.

“Do you want any special pose?” Hoseok wondered.

Jungkook took a seat on the other side of the couch, preparing his utensils.

“Just do whatever,” he answered, nonchalant.

Hoseok nodded, his eyes returning to the TV; there was playing an episode of some tv show Jungkook didn’t recognize.

Jungkook started drawing him, eyes intensely scanning the way Hoseok looked at the moment. He was wearing a white sweater, a few sizes bigger, and a pair of black cargo pants. There was a long silver necklace dangling around his neck. He had a pair of black retro spectacle glasses on his face and a brown beanie covering his head, only a few strands of dark hair being visible.

Jungkook’s hand continued to move over the paper, tracing the lines of Hoseok’s body easily, almost from memory only.

But then he started adding details to his face and Jungkook was completely enamoured. Hoseok’s golden skin shined under the light, making Jungkook’s fingers itch to touch it. His beautiful heart shaped lips kept turning into a smile whenever he liked something that happened on the show, making Jungkook think about how it would feel to press his own lips against them.

Jungkook didn’t even realize he stopped drawing and just stared at the older for a few minutes, making Hoseok feel his intense gaze on his skin.

“Jungkook-ah, is there something wrong?” Hoseok asked, curious.

Jungkook blinked a few times, barely registering the other’s words. The moment he realized he'd been caught staring, his eyes widened and a deep blush appeared on his cheeks.

He cleared his throat. “No, sorry,” he answered quickly.

“Then why are you looking at me like that?” the older pressed, turning his whole body towards Jungkook, making the boy flustered.

“You’re just really pretty,” Jungkook blurted out before he could stop himself. He averted his eyes in embarrassment.

Hoseok just smiled in return, but there was a tint of red on his cheeks now.

Jungkook was too embarrassed to say anything anymore, so he finished his drawing quietly, not taking another look at the other boy.

When Hoseok noticed that the younger put down the finished drawing, he leaned over the couch to take a better look at it.

“I really like this one,” he complimented.

“You can have it,” Jungkook offered, still avoiding looking at the boy.

“Thanks, Jungkook-ah.”

Then silence fell over the room, making Jungkook cringe because he was to blame for the awkward atmosphere.

“Let’s go for a walk,” Hoseok suggested, already getting up from the couch.

Jungkook closed his eyes, letting his head fall dramatically on the backrest. “I’m not in the mood,” he protested.

“Well this is my payment, so you don’t really have a choice.” the older chirped.

Jungkook groaned, but still followed Hoseok out of the door and to a small ice cream shop near the Han River. And even though Jungkook was supposed to be the one ‘paying’ Hoseok for posing for him, the older ended up buying Jungkook two cones of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Jungkook’s feelings for Hoseok have become too overwhelming for the boy.

He met with Taehyung and Jimin to try and distract himself from his thoughts about Hoseok, but they ended up making it even worse because the two asked about him and Jungkook’s mouth started running, letting too much out.

His friends weren’t oblivious at all so they immediately picked up on Jungkook’s blooming feelings for the older. They teased him at first, but then they encouraged him to confess.

Jungkook would lie if he said the idea didn’t pop into his head at some point during the last few weeks. He was just too scared to do it.

After thinking about all of that again, his mood dropped drastically. The other two realized that it was a sensitive subject for Jungkook, so they dropped it and tried to bring the smile back to the younger’s face.

He was glad he spent some more time with his other friends beside Hoseok. It was like a breath of fresh air, because Jungkook’s been feeling like he was suffocating these past weeks while he’s been falling more and more for the beautiful brown haired boy.

Still, he couldn’t go too much without feeling the overwhelming need to see Hoseok.

So that evening, after he arrived home from his hang-out with Jimin and Taehyung, he called Hoseok over.

One hour later, Hoseok was seated on his couch, looking a bit lost in his head. It was unusual for Jungkook to see him like this, but he didn’t question it.

He kept drawing in silence, his eyes swiftly moving between Hoseok and the paper.

That was until he got to draw Hoseok’s hair and he wasn’t satisfied with the way it looked. He stopped drawing and glared at the boy’s hair, trying to imagine it the way he wanted.

“What?” Hoseok asked when he noticed the way Jungkook was looking at his head.

“Your hair is just a bit weird,” Jungkook explained, trying not to sound rude.

Hoseok snorted in response. “Then come here and style it however you want,” he said, beckoning Jungkook to come to him.

Jungkook placed his utensil on the coffee table and crawled over the couch until he was by Hoseok’s side, the other watching him expectantly. Jungkook brought his hands up to Hoseok’s hair, carding his long slim fingers through the brown locks, trying to style them in the direction he desired.

Meanwhile, Hoseok closed his eyes, feeling a surge of pleasure and comfort at the way Jungkook was tugging at his hair. He sighed, biting his bottom lip.

After a few seconds, Jungkook noticed how close he was to the boy. He detached from Hoseok, his hands falling limp in his lap. His eyes scanned over Hoseok’s features, trying to gauge what the other was feeling at the moment.

“What are you thinking about?” Jungkook asked in a whisper, cautious.

Hoseok opened his eyes at the sound of Jungkook’s voice, looking directly into his chocolate doe eyes. “Kissing you,” he responded, softly.

Jungkook was perplexed. “O-oh,” he stuttered out in response.

Hoseok was already closing the distance between them, Jungkook’s senses being invaded by the sweet smell of his cologne. “Can I kiss you, Jungkook-ah?” he asked for permission, voice barely above a whisper.

Jungkook’s breath hitched in his throat. He was frozen and it felt like his heart stopped beating, then it went into overdrive, the boy hearing it’s powerful sound boom in his ears. He was looking Hoseok directly in the eyes, their softness warming his heart.

“Jungkook-ah,” Hoseok whispered after a minute in which Jungkook hadn’t given him any answer. He placed a warm hand on Jungkook’s cheek, caressing it tenderly with his thumb.

Hoseok’s raspy voice made goosebumps rise on Jungkook’s skin and his gentle touch brought him back to reality. “Please,” Jungkook finally breathed out. “Yes, please.”

Hoseok didn’t waste any more time, leaning forward and attaching his lips to Jungkook’s. The kiss was gentle and careful, Hoseok cupping Jungkook’s cheeks between his soft palms.

After a few seconds, Jungkook parted from him, feeling light-headed from how hard his heart was beating in his chest.

Hoseok pushed a hand through Jungkook’s hair, softly tugging at the strands until Jungkook’s breathing calmed down.

Jungkook suddenly pressed his lips back to Hoseok’s, taking him by surprise; Hoseok wasn’t complaining though. This time Jungkook pressed harder against the other, deepening the kiss. He parted his lips, inviting Hoseok to let his tongue wander into; Hoseok didn’t hesitate to do just that.

Jungkook finally built the courage to move his hands towards Hoseok’s body, tugging him forward, wanting him closer. Hoseok understood the message. His hand descended from the younger’s cheek to his thigh, moving Jungkook’s right leg over his own legs, making him straddle his lap. Jungkook sat on Hoseok’s fit thighs, letting out a satisfied moan escape through his lips and into Hoseok’s mouth at the feeling.

The kiss was passionate, all the hidden desire pouring out through their desperate touches.

Hoseok parted from Jungkook’s lips to let themselves breathe for a moment, but he couldn’t stop the overflowing of emotions he felt for Jungkook. He pressed his lips to Jungkook’s jaw, trailing small and wet kisses down to his neck, making Jungkook arch his back in pleasure.

“I want to take you out on a date,” he whispered against Jungkook’s skin.

Jungkook opened his eyes in surprise. He turned his head down, making Hoseok part from his neck and rest his head on the backrest.

“Are you serious?” Jungkook asked, watching Hoseok’s expression intently.

Hoseok smiled, bringing a hand back to Jungkook’s cheek, the boy leaning into the touch.

“I’ve been meaning to ask you out for quite some time. But I always chickened out in the end,” Hoseok confessed, letting out a small laugh at the end of his sentence.

Jungkook could swear his heart was going to burst with the amount of happiness he felt at the moment. He couldn’t even let out any words. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to Hoseok’s in a tender kiss, the older responding immediately with the same sentiment.

“Wait,” Hoseok interrupted, leaning his head backwards to look into Jungkook’s eyes. “You didn’t respond to my proposal,” he insisted, pushing a strand of hair out of Jungkook’s beautiful orbs.

Jungkook smiled. “Yes, I’d love to go on a date with you.” Then his lips were back on Hoseok’s.

Jungkook was really excited for their date, but also anxious. His mind kept wandering to all the things that could go wrong, doubting that Hoseok’s feelings for him were as strong as his.

Taehyung and Jimin came over before his date, helping him prepare and also erasing all these stupid doubts that had haunted him in his sleep the night before.

“Kook-ah, the boy has been letting you draw him all the goddamn time for two years, without complaining even once. He’s so whipped, it’s unreal,” Taehyung commented while he was choosing Jungkook’s outfit.

“Tae’s right. Stop doubting him,” Jimin agreed, styling Jungkook’s hair with diligent hands. “And stop doubting yourself,” he added, stopping his ministrations for a moment to make eye contact with the younger in the mirror.

After spending some time preparing with his friends, he felt a little bit more relaxed.

When Hoseok came over to pick him up, Jungkook didn’t have that anxious voice in the back of his mind telling him about what could go wrong; instead there was this warmth engulfing his body at the sight of the boy and excitement for what the night will bring.

Their first stop was at an art exhibition.

Jungkook’s been to a lot of exhibitions, but this one has really captured his interest and his heart. The exhibition was called Beyond The Scene and it was created by a beautiful lady named Kang Yiyun.

Jungkook was completely enamoured by what he was seeing. It was a wonderful intersection between art and technology; and everything was about movement, giving a beautiful experience to the person visualizing it. There were large scale projections of silhouettes on white fabric, their movements sharp and also abstract, bending in different shapes through the space.

While it wasn’t exactly in Jungkook’s area of expertise, the boy tried to explain to Hoseok his interpretation of the art they were seeing. Hoseok came with his own interpretation, inspired by his years of dancing before college. He explained that the movements gave him the feeling of a chaotic and emotional dance.

The entire experience made them go into more depth about their personal lives before they met each other, delving deeper into Jungkook’s passion for art and Hoseok’s past as a dancer.

Their conversations continued over dinner at a small restaurant, the boys feeling their hearts connecting even more than they were before.

“I started teaching a dance class for children last week,” Hoseok announced, a proud smile plastered on his face.

“You decided to do it after all?” Jungkook inquired, his eyes shining with interest.

Hoseok nodded cutely. “It was really great. They offered me to work there full time,” he said then took a sip from his glass of water.

“That’s great, hyung,” Jungkook beamed. “Are you going to accept?”

Hoseok placed the glass back on the table, tilting his head in thought. “I think so. The kids were all adorable and polite. The money’s also pretty good,” he answered. “I’ll just have to see how I can manage my time between college and the dance classes,” he added, scratching the side of his head with slight frustration.

“You’ll do great,” Jungkook encouraged him, taking a hold of his hand over the table.

Hoseok’s smile became brighter with the comforting touch. “I’ll also have to make time for you,” he said, his tone playful.

“You better,” Jungkook threatened, playing along.

Hoseok chuckled. “You can also come over at the dance class,” he offered. “Draw me while I teach,” Hoseok added in a sweet tone.

Jungkook agreed without hesitation. He wouldn’t pass an occasion to draw Hoseok.

The date went great, both boys content and happy to have spent such a wonderful evening together.

Later that night, Hoseok took Jungkook back home. He came upstairs to the apartment to use Jungkook’s bathroom before he went back to his own apartment.

But Jungkook didn’t want him to leave. Maybe it was rushed, but he’s been holding back for so long. He just wanted to have Hoseok close to him.

When Hoseok exited the bathroom and gently ruffled his hair, Jungkook swallowed his nerves.

“Can you please stay?” Jungkook said softly, afraid to speak louder.

Hoseok stopped moving for a moment, watching Jungkook’s nervous state for a second. A beautiful smile spread on his lips. “Of course. If that’s what you want,” he answered, taking a couple steps until he was in front of Jungkook.

Hoseok tilted Jungkook’s head to connect their lips together in a small peck. “My shy baby,” he cooed, tenderly stroking Jungkook’s cheek. Jungkook blushed, softly hitting Hoseok’s bicep in protest; that just made Hoseok laugh at how adorable he was.

Jungkook took Hoseok’s hand and directed him towards the bedroom.

Hoseok’s been in Jungkook’s room before, so he immediately noticed the new addition to Jungkook’s bedroom wall.

His mouth opened slightly in surprise, his pouty lips forming a small ‘o’. “When did you put this up?” he asked after a minute of staring at the drawing on the wall.

The drawing of him. The drawing Jungkook had made when Hoseok came over and he was hit by inspiration. The drawing that started this unsaid agreement between the two; it brought them closer, ultimately falling for each other in the process.

Jungkook scratched the back of his neck. “A couple weeks ago,” he answered truthfully.

“Why?” Hoseok wondered, taking steps towards the wall. The drawing brought back a wave of happy memories.

“I realized why you became my muse back then,” Jungkook said. Hoseok turned his head towards him, raising his eyebrows in question. “My drawings are always better when they’re made with emotion,” he started, coming to stand behind Hoseok. Jungkook’s arms wrapped around the older’s middle, bringing him closer to his body, his head resting on Hoseok’s shoulder. “You make me feel so many emotions, hyung, they just keep pouring out through my art.”

His confession made Hoseok’s heart flutter. He turned around into Jungkook’s embrace and passionately pressed his lips to Jungkook’s soft ones.

Jungkook walked backwards until the back of his legs hit the edge of his bed. He let himself fall on his back, hitting the mattress with a small thud. Hoseok climbed in his lap, continuing to press kisses all over Jungkook’s face, making him giggle in delight.

After a few more minutes of making out, they ended up fast asleep; Jungkook’s back pressed flush to Hoseok’s chest, the older’s hand thrown over his slim waist, keeping him close –exactly the way Jungkook desired.

Jungkook and Hoseok have been dating for over a month now.

Both boys were beaming with happiness.

This evening, Hoseok surprised Jungkook with a small indoor date. He came over to Jungkook’s apartment, both hands holding bags full of ingredients necessary to prepare a delicious dinner.

He started cooking immediately, Jungkook helping him with whatever Hoseok would let him do.

They ate on the couch, making small talk in the process.

“How’s it been at work today?” Jungkook asked after he swallowed his food.

“It was tiring. One of the kids started crying because he couldn’t do one move,” Hoseok sighed, placing his now empty bowl on the table. “But in the end he got it right and everyone was happy.”

Jungkook chuckled and pressed a small kiss to Hoseok’s cheek. “Thank you for dinner.”

He got up from the couch and disappeared into his room, Hoseok already knowing what was coming.

When Jungkook entered the living room with the sketchbook in his hand, Hoseok just gave him a small smile.

Jungkook started drawing, Hoseok continuing to converse with him. He talked about meeting Yoongi to help him with some songs again, Jungkook insisting that Hoseok has to convince Yoongi to let him listen to the songs too. Hoseok promised that he’d try.

“I’m going to let you know that the payment has been upgraded,” Hoseok announced, trying to put a serious business front.

“Upgraded? Shouldn’t there be a discount since I’m your boyfriend now?” Jungkook asked, feigning being offended.

“No discount for you, mister,” Hoseok refused, his tone playful now.

“Okay then,” Jungkook agreed with a huff. “What shall be the payment on this fine evening?” he asked, professional.

“Kisses,” was his lover’s request, which he complied with without second thought.

Jungkook dragged his lips over Hoseok’s neck, the older moaning at the feeling.

“Let’s go to the bedroom,” Hoseok commended, already standing and tugging Jungkook to follow him.

They made love that night, slow and passionate, their desire and adoration pouring through every gentle touch and every tender kiss. Jungkook felt all his senses being invaded by Hoseok, his smell and his touch, making Jungkook’s mind fuzzy and his heart tremble with so much emotion.

Hoseok fell asleep soon after, tired from having been at work and college all day.

Jungkook just stood there, watching him peacefully sleep, his lover’s chest rising and falling with his every breath.

He wasn’t tired enough to sleep yet, so he put on a pair of boxers and moved to sit on the chair next to his desk. He took out his drawing block, bending his knees to support it; and he started drawing Hoseok.

With every trace of Hoseok’s bodyline and his gorgeous features, Jungkook felt his heart fill with so much love. He’d never felt so connected to someone, in every way possible, in mind and soul, in body and heart. Hoseok wasn’t just his muse anymore, he was the love of Jungkook’s life. And Jungkook couldn’t be happier about it.

“Jungkook-ah.” He heard his lover call out his name from the bed, making him swiftly raise his gaze in that direction.

Hoseok’s eyes were open, half lidded and still sleepy. His brown hair was a mess, but paired with his confused expression, it looked completely adorable.

“What are you doing there, baby?” he asked, voice raspy.

Jungkook stood in silence for a while, eyes never leaving his lover’s face.

Hoseok frowned at not receiving an answer, concerned. “Jungkook,” he tried again, his tone careful.

Jungkook’s heart was full of so much love, it overflowed. “I’m so in love with you, Jung Hoseok,” he confessed, voice quivering with emotion, but also full of conviction.

Hoseok was frozen at first, but then a smile broke on his face. “Come here,” he beckoned Jungkook to move back in bed with him.

Jungkook complied, already missing being close to Hoseok’s warmth.

He laid on the mattress, Hoseok’s hand snaking around his naked waist and bringing him closer, their foreheads touching. “I’m in love with you, Jeon Jungkook,” he said in the sweetest voice. “I’m in love with your pretty smile, your adorable laugh and gorgeous face. I’m in love with your kind soul and wonderful personality,” he confessed, caressing Jungkook’s cheek in the process. “I’m in love with your beautiful doe eyes that hold all the stars of the universe in them.”

Jungkook felt like crying, his smile so big it felt like it was going to break his face.

“I love you,” Jungkook repeated, kissing Hoseok’s lips with fervor.

When they parted from the heated kiss, Jungkook placed his head on Hoseok’s chest, listening to his heartbeat to help him calm his own heart.

He rolled over Hoseok’s body, sustaining his weight on his elbows while he pressed tender kisses all over Hoseok’s naked chest. “I want to create art on your skin with my lips,” Jungkook whispered against his lover’s golden skin.

Hoseok hummed, content. “So I’m not your muse anymore. I became your canvas?” he wondered, his hand gliding through Jungkook’s dark locks.

Jungkook smiled, a surge of warmth swelled in his chest at Hoseok’s gentle touch.

“You will always be my muse, but you can also be my canvas.”

Hoseok loved the sound of that.
