Summary
They could have played for longer. They deserved to play for longer.
Luka doesn’t know why he expected basketball to be fair—it’s all the more infuriating because it is the fairest sport in the whole world. Two teams. Two hoops. Five players on each side, none of which get to hold the ball for more than twenty-four seconds at a time, and those seconds mean everything.
They deserved to play for longer. But, Luka thinks, probably every single person of every team that they beat in the past months is thinking exactly the same.
In which Luka and Kyrie talk after the world ends. Or after they lose Game 5 against the Celtics. It's all a matter of semantics, really.

Summary
His school doesn’t have an orchestra, but that’s only half the problem.
The other half is that Hinata doesn’t know how to play the violin. The other half of that half is that he doesn’t have anyone to teach him. The other half of that half is that his mom can’t afford to pay for a teacher.
Hinata realizes that realistically, he can’t have more than two halves to his problem, but he reasons with the fact that his big problem is so big that it’s necessary. His big problem is this: he qualifies for the Miyagi Orchestra in three years, the summer he turns sixteen.
That’s three years to master the violin, to go up against people who have been playing since they could stand, and Hinata doesn’t even know where to begin.

Summary
Tobio drops his hands from his face at Hinata’s bright voice and looks down. Hinata beams up at him, wide and blinding, a ball of sunshine on a gymnasium floor. Tobio kind of feels like he’s burning when Hinata looks like this – sunbeams personified – but that’s okay.
He’ll happily spend the rest of his life getting burned by Hinata Shouyou.

Summary
Kageyama Tobio met a boy when he was 15. He was loud, greedy, and selfish in all the ways possible. He was demanding, impatient, reckless, and everything Kageyama wanted nothing to do with.
Hinata Shouyou has always lived on a parallel with him, forever on the same trajectory—yet never intersecting—that is, until he finds himself repelling, attracting, bending, until their lives intertwine so deeply that Kageyama cannot tell his story without him.
This is how he met Hinata Shouyou when he was 15.
