Summary
“I'm not angry, least of all with you,” Yeong-shin admitted, his head still bowed. Mostly he felt sorrow, for they'd lived in peace for so long that he'd been lured into a profound sense of contentment, and now he saw that fantasy for the fallacy it was.
Chang continued to stroke Yeong-shin's arms and shoulders, not pressing him, and when Yeong-shin finally lifted his head he saw that Chang continued to watch steadily, not shying away from the display of emotion as most men would.
“Let us part as friends” Chang said, “instead of wasting our hours.”
Yeong-shin just nodded, because there was sense in that as well, and he did not want to part with regrets.
