the world is a cruel place. you know that all too well, even as you are dropped back in with no memories, nothing but a sword, and the skills to use it.

Chapter 1: prologue

Chapter Text

You didn't feel anything at all.

Then suddenly, you did.

The morning sun's radiance beamed upon you, covering your body in a gentle warmth. That managed to stir you from the coma- no, perhaps the slumber, you were in. You could feel your eyes flutter open, taking a moment to adjust before you were truly able to see. You were lying down, that much was obvious. The floor beneath you felt like a sort of futon, but it was quite clear it had been quickly prepared on top of a wooden deck. A white blanket had covered you almost immediately after you felt yourself awaken, and that was when you realized you were unclothed.

Another realization came to you shortly after, the realization that there were several pairs of eyes on your form. If you knew what was going on, you would have felt embarrassed to be in such a state. Turning your head, feeling almost too.. exhausted to get up, you saw several figures.

The most striking to you was a man with shoulder length raven hair. His eyes were a milky violet hue, and his lips were curled in a small smile. His skin from his nose up was purple, cursed, it was clear to see. He didn't speak, giving you time to assess the other figures and your current situation.

The woman next to him had pure white hair, large eyes on her almost unbelievably beautiful features. Beside her were several children, all of which had white hair cut in the same bob, save for one with the same raven as her father. They certainly had to be family, every one of them.

After one last glance, you looked to the cursed man in the center. His Buddha-like smile seemed to grow ever so slightly, your gaze being affirmation enough for him to speak.

"Welcome to the Ubuyashiki Estate."
