The guy shuts his phone off and reaches up to his ear to pull out an earbud. He shoots Will a grin, which does not help the whole blushing-crimson thing. “Hey,” he says coolly, and Will admires his composure while he wills the earth to collapse beneath him.
The guy quirks an eyebrow at Will when he doesn’t look away, then seems to take in his slightly disheveled and paint-stained appearance - he’d had his painting and drawing class just before he’d gone home, and had managed, as he always does, to get paint everywhere - because his smile grows a little softer, a little fonder. His shoulders relax against the bench, and Will lets out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “You get sexiled?”

Summary
With the tensions and eventual war between the Ferngill Republic and the Gotoro Empire, Eva Lang found herself unable to return home. She made the best of it, setting aside her dream career for the lucrative job at Joja Corporation. But the successful life she had built came crashing down, thanks to Morris, leaving Eva scrambling. She finds herself as the owner of Mistwood Farm in Pelican Town as she struggles to make sense of the world that has little love for a Gotoran, worries about her father serving in the Imperial military, and tries to settle into a new life in the small town. Along they way, she vows revenge on Morris and his Joja Corp backed plans for the valley town she starts to call home.

One of the more plot heavy/fleshed out stardew valley fics. Loved how they expanded on the war and made her dad more of a main character and loved how they made her a very fleshed out character. Not like all the other stardew fics. This was so refreshing
