Work Text:

BANG!

Tine wakes up in the sound of the door closing and several sounds of footsteps can be heard. Why can't these guys leave me alone.

“Oi Tine! Wake up, wake up.” Somebody removes his blanket from his body. He curves into fetal position. The blanket must be the cause of why he is sweating right now.

He continues to ignore his friend's protests.

Fong laughs and takes out his phone to take a picture of post-hangover Tine who is visibly annoyed by their presence through his furrowed brows and pout as he refuses to open his eyes.

“Tine, you didn't even take off your clothes yesterday.” Ohm tries to playfully remove his pants.

His day is officially a bad one when Tine slowly sits up as he's forcefully awakened. He's suddenly attacked with pinpricks of headache and dry throat as he slowly leans on the headboard of his bed. An unbearable hangover and annoying friends aren't his cup of his tea in this ungodly morning. He looks disheveled, hair is sticking out everywhere, face still a bit red, a seemingly permanent pout, and heavy eyelids that he doesn't have the energy to open itself.

“That was a hella party.” Phuak mutters while Fong nods.

“What do you mean?” Tine yawns while scratching his head, still his eyes are closed.

Ohm suddenly jumps on his bed, grabs him by the shoulder to shake him in disbelief. “You mean, you don't remember what happened yesterday?” Tine cracks his one eye open at the force of being shaken.

“Uhm do you want to see?” Phuak hesitantly fishes his phone out of his pocket to open his Instagram. He looks around to see the approval on Ohm and Fong's faces.

They both scratch the back of their necks as they agree to let Phuak show the video to Tine.

A bit dumbfounded at his friends, Tine looks at the IG video on Phuak's timeline.

Screw his hangover and sleepiness. Everything went down the drain when he sees the video of him and Sarawat fervently making out.

His eyes go into saucers as he sees in the video that Sarawat grabbed his waist to deepen their kiss as both of their tongues battle for dominance. He tilted his head for a better angle as his body arched towards him, arms wrapped around his neck and his fingers were buried in Sarawat's soft hair. He can definitely see that Sarawat was smiling in between their kisses throughout the video. Despite the good quality of the video, the sounds were awful because of the loud cheer of everyone, he can even see Man screaming at top of his lungs while cheering for Sarawat. The video is just about a minute but currently watching it makes Tine think that it was a very long kiss.

Shit! We made out. We kissed. Again. But this time it was in front of everyone at the bar.

“Shit!” He shouts and hastily stands up to run to his bathroom when he feels the urge to empty his stomach. He gives his everything out while hugging the toilet bowl.

Fong shakes his head while Ohm and Phuak try to hold their laughter at the scene in front of them.

Tine sighs dramatically and wipes whatever it is on the side of his mouth using the back of his hand after vomiting. Shit, shit, shit, he's sure the team Sarawat wives have put a large amount of bounty for his head. He shivers at the thought of getting beat up by those delusional girls.

He swears he will never touch or drink a single drop of alcohol ever again.

Nope, that's bullshit.

❤️

He squeaks as his friends walk faster than usual. "Hey! Wait for me." He runs after them while he catches his breath. “What's the matter with all of you, don't leave me alone. I don't want to get mugged by Sarawat's wives.”

Fong chuckles. “Don't worry, you are more powerful than them because you are Sarawat's wife.” Ohm and Phuak high fives Fong. He rolls his eyes at his friends, totally riled up with their jokes.

“Ai, Isn't that Sarawat and his friends? Looks like they are walking towards our direction.” Ohm points at the walking three figures.

Tine's whole body straightens up at the mention of the name who ruined his day. He gulps in desperation to think of his next action.

He abruptly pretends to smack his head. “I-I forgot… I have a cheerleading practice today. B-Bye! I'll meet you later.”

“Oi, Tine! You have no practice today.” One of his friends shouts, but he isn't sure who because he is currently running away from Sarawat who is coming their way and looking at him intensely.

❤️

Fortunately, he successfully avoids Sarawat throughout the whole morning. He just got out of his class when his phone rings. He almost drops it when he saw Sarawat's caller ID. Shit, there's no way he's going to answer that Saraleo.

Due to the hangover, Tine still feels his throat is dry as the Sahara desert and it's getting itchier. He needs to drink, he decides as he clears his throat multiple times.

Just to be sure, he looks around first before going down the stairs in case he spots Sarawat and his minions. As he's satisfied with his inspection, he enthusiastically goes down the steps while thinking of his favorite blue drink.

Mindlessly scrolling through his phone while walking down the stairs, Tine suddenly bumps into something broad and hard. Did he just bump into a column? But it's in the middle of the stairs. He looks up and is about to apologize when he sees Sarawat looking at him intensely with that charming smirk that makes him want to wipe it off of his face.

“So you've been avoiding me the whole morning.” Sarawat's expression looks annoyed–gorgeously annoyed.

“H-hey Wat, what do you mean I've been avoiding you?” He playfully jabs Sarawat's shoulder while refusing to make eye contact with him.

It looks like Sarawat wants to say something but a loud banshee screech can be heard from a distance. Now that's a lot of banshees. The excruciating noise came from the girls of Team Sarawat Wives who were screaming Wat's name at top of their lungs when they spotted him.

“Anyways… I have to go now, goodbye!” Tine reasons out in a hurry. Thank these girls for giving him a chance to run. However, Sarawat is about to grab him by his wrist when he steps on the wrong foot causing him to fall hard. Shit! What a day it is.

THUD.

“Tine!” He hears Sarawat's concerned voice after he falls onto the ground.

Tine groans in pain as he tries to stand up but Sarawat is faster to move by his side. He helps him sit up, and suddenly a hand brushes his hair off of his face, and the other hand is cradling his cheek. Sarawat's face is etched with worry as he inspects Tine's face for any wounds.

The girls are looking at the scene in shock, some of them are rolling their eyes while the others look troubled. However, he doesn't care about that, not when Sarawat's face is so near to him, he can even feel his hot breath fanning his skin. Due to their close proximity, he can literally smell the scent of his perfume that invades his nostrils. He smells so good, Tine admits internally.

His face feels warm when he looks at Sarawat's concerned face while the said man brushes the non-existent dirt from his face.

“I'm okay. Just an effect of hangover.” He tries to swat Sarawat's hands off of his face.

Sarawat helps him to stand up but the effort causes him another groan when he feels his right foot hurt. Great! He just twisted his ankle. He didn’t even notice that he’s leaning his whole body on Sarawat who puts his arms around his shoulder. “Let’s go to the university clinic.” He mutters while scowling at the Team Sarawat wives as a warning not to follow them.

❤️

“The nurse gave me an ice pack, she told me to apply this for 15-20 minutes.” Sarawat steps closer to him and applies the ice pack on his swelling feet. He is again in a blushing mess as the said man is softly massaging his sprained ankle.

As he lays on the bed, the silence inside the room is heavy between the two of them. Sarawat releases a chuckle then decides to address the elephant in the room. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Tine fakes a smile and acts dumb. “About what?”

Sarawat grins as he shakes his head. “You know you’re not a really good liar, Tine. I meant to ask why did you kiss me last night?”

He gasps and feels the shivers running down his whole body as he processes what Sarawat just revealed. “I DID THAT?” He replies a little louder, he’s glad the nurse has an errand to run to since gossip doesn’t only spread among the students but also the staff of the institution.

Sarawat snorts, but he can clearly see the disappointment on his face. “You’re so dumb, you know that.”

“I-I can’t remember anything that happened last night, all I know is that I woke up with the worst case of hangover I’ve experienced.” He scratches the back of his neck in embarrassment.

A deep sigh can be heard from Sarawat who stops applying the ice pack on his feet. The coldness then left his feet.

Suddenly, the ice pack is hurled in front of him just in time when Tine decides to look up to Sarawat. Luckily, he catches it on time. “Ai! What do you think you’re doing.”

“I have to go practice with the band.” He grabs Tine’s phone and starts to text his friends about his situation and location. After that, he carelessly tosses it back to Tine and leaves the room without a word.

Obviously, Tine is irritated with Sarawat’s sudden change of mood but the said man definitely looks much more displeased than him. What was that? He wonders.

He must know what really happened last night, he thinks he should start first with his friends.

❤️

“What do you mean you don’t remember it too.” Tine whines like a child at his friends who look apologetically at him. He splays out on his bed after his friends helped him to get back to his dorm

Ohm scratches his head. “We’re sorry ‘cuz we were shitfaced too that night. And those girls, we were dancing and talking to other girls from the other table then suddenly hollers filled the room and everyone took out their phones to take a video of you and Sarawat doing uhm… You know.”

“I know that!” He is hesitant but decides to share it. “And I think Sarawat is angry at me too for not remembering anything.” Tine sighs.

“If I were Sarawat, I’d be angry too because it seems that you’re the one who initiated it, looks like he really enjoyed it last night.” Fong butts in.

Tine ruffles his hair and sighs in frustration. He tried to call Sarawat after he got back but he didn’t answer. He rubs his temples as he currently tries to recall everything last night because his friends are useless as of now.

He remembers that Boss and Man invited them to a party because the exam week has just ended in which Ohm and Phuak totally agreed at the mention of hot girls from the faculty of political science are coming too. They eagerly dragged him and Fong to the bar after they finished their classes.

He isn’t that surprised when he gets to sit in the empty chair beside Sarawat as if it was reserved for him. He nodded in acknowledgment of Wat's presence. Throughout the night, they kept clinking their glasses and shouting ‘Cheers!’ as they celebrate a momentary freedom away from difficult exams. But he couldn’t totally party when from time to time, several girls kept coming at their table to ask Sarawat for a selfie. Why can’t they mind their own business, he sneered.

After several rounds of drinks, he remembers he’s about to slip off and bang his head on the table because of intoxication when Sarawat puts his hand down on the table resulting in Tine bumping his forehead on the former's hands instead of the cold hardwood of the table. He looked at him with hazy eyes and slurs an inaudible ‘Thanks’ to Sarawat.

He wants to go home, but his friends were drunkenly dancing on the floor with Boss and Man. The only ones left on the table are him and Sarawat. Someone cleared his throat beside him, a pair of lips got closer to his ear when Sarawat leaned too close and whispered “Can I touch your boobs now?”

His mouth gaped at Sarawat’s question. Swiftly, his hands come flying across to cover Sarawat’s mouth as he pushes him away. “Saraleo! You’re such a pervert.” He said in a drunken stupor while his heart skipped a beat. Despite his hazy vision and the blinding lights of the bar, he can see Sarawat is smiling at him, the kind of smile that he only sees when the said man is with him, genuine and full of fondness.

The moment was cut off when a group of girls with skimpy dresses sat on the empty seats left by their friends who god knows where.

And then everything was a blur after that, the last thing remembered was a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach and that’s it.

He couldn’t even remember what happened after that and how he got back to his dorm after that night.

He whines some more and throws a tantrum at his friends. “I couldn’t really remember.” He pouts.

“Maybe you should ask Man and Boss about it?” Fong suggests, raising his other brow.

Phuak agrees. “You’re such a genius, Fong! I thought you’re dumb when you failed to flirt with the girls yesterday.” Ohm snickers.

Tine starts to reevaluate his decisions in life and where he may have gone wrong for it seems that the universe is punishing him right now.

❤️

In the afternoon, he spent his remaining time cooped up in his room, because the nurse advised him to let his right foot rest for a while.

Doing a quick stretch, he stands up and tries to put some force on his left foot to balance himself properly so that he can go out to find Boss and Man.

A bit limping, he walks through the football field when he spots Man and Boss practicing without Sarawat.

“Look who appeared, it's the man of our night! You've caused quite an uproar yesterday.” Boss proudly pats his back while Man ruffles his hair. He tries not to get close at them not when they are dripping with sweat.

Tine sneers at the two in an effort to hide his red ears in embarrassment.

“Since Sarawat isn't here, I've got something to ask you two.” Tine says.

Boss juts his chin out proudly, hands on both sides of his hips. “Of course you can ask us anything.”

“Wait, is this about last night right?” Man interjects in a teasing tone.

He suppresses the urge to roll his eyes and sighs in defeat. “Sarawat is ignoring me right now because I can't remember what happened yesterday." He lowers his gaze. “My friends are useless because they're drunk too. Can somebody tell me what really happened or else…” Tine swallows heavily and touches his neck.

“Or else what?” Man asks.

Tine coughs at Man's question, seriously this guy knows how to make me talk. “O-or else... Team Sarawat wives might beat me up.” He tries to reason out.

He crosses his fingers mentally in hope that Sarawat's friends don't see through him.

Boss stifles a laugh while Man shakes his head. “You know my friend, you're too easy to predict.” He puts his arm around Tine's shoulder. He sighs deeply, deciding if he should change his shirt right now, it feels a bit icky.

“You mean or else Sarawat will continue to ignore you.” Man drops the bomb as him and Boss laugh at his statement.

Tine chews the inside of his cheeks as these buffoons laugh their asses off. But they were right, he doesn't like being ignored especially if it's Sarawat. Something inside him gets unsettling and the feeling of frustration wraps around his body whenever him and Sarawat have an altercation. That's why he chose to set aside the pain in his sprained ankle just to get this mission done.

“Okay, okay, I admit it.” Tine puts up his hands in defeat. “Now, can you tell me what really happened?”

“That night was a blast you know, we drank like a lot, then we intentionally left you at the table to dance. So you could… talk.” Man shrugs his shoulder as Tine snorts at his statement. Sarawat's friends must be the culprit of this ruckus he caused.

“So we're busy dancing with your friends and talking to a bunch of girls when I heard you raised your voice on Wat, we couldn't pick up what you said because of the noise inside the room. Then you stand up then walk wobbly on the other side to remove the girl who's clinging on Wat's arm. And then…”

“And then?” He looks daggers at Man who is obviously teasing him by cutting his story.

“And then you suddenly pulled him to stand and wrapped your arms around his neck to kiss him.” He shrugs again as if it's a normal thing to say. Boss nods too in agreement.

Tine gasps, obviously shocked by his actions. He rubs his temples as he slowly piece the stories together.

Then someone whistles, calling Boss and Man, it seems like their short break is over. They both comfortingly pat Tine on the back as if it's a good luck then proceeds to run to the field with their team members.

He slumps on the chair as his heart beats fast like it wants to get out of his rib cage, his lungs feels like it is struggling to find some air.

Tine tries to retrace again the happening last night.

So the girls with the skimpy dresses start to flirt with Sarawat by offering him drinks, asking him for selfies and even his Line ID. Tine feels out of place now that Sarawat's attention is not on him. He feels sick as his stomach churned with a weird surge of jealousy overcomes him.

Tine smacks his forehead at that thought. How can he be possessive when he's the one who keeps leading Sarawat on. He shakes his head again to pick up where he left off.

Maybe it's the alcohol talking when he whined and raised his voice to Sarawat. “Sarawat! I thought I'm only reserved for you, t-then you should only look at me and nothing else. If-if that's it then, y-you're only mine.” Tine spoke boldly while he struggled to speak straight.

Then he stands up like he's in a hissy fit and removes the leech of a woman off of Sarawat's arm.

He turned to Sarawat and looked at him intently.

Honestly, Sarawat looked at him like a deer caught in the headlights, totally shocked by Tine's confession. But before he could even process what Tine had said. He was being pulled up to capture his lips, roughly pressing it as Tine's hands snaked around Sarawat's neck up to his soft locks. The said man's eyes widen by Tine's action for he usually initiates the kiss, not his little buffalo.

Sarawat was quick to recover when he reciprocated the kiss and grabbed him by the waist to deepen it. He felt the warmth of Tine's body pressing against him as Tine hums in between the kiss, seemingly enjoying it. That's his cue to slip his tongue on him.

Tine gasped but continued to kiss him fervently, it was sloppy and hurried, both of them tasted alcohol. Some part of him is aware that his jealousy must've caused this behavior and the other blames it on the intoxication.

He thinks that Sarawat couldn't care less about everyone who hoots and hollered while they took their phones out. It felt blissful–heavenly as Sarawat explored his mouth, he felt connected to him more than ever as he caressed the said man's hair. Although his confession to Sarawat was not what he really planned, it was embarrassing, lacking of proper word but he pushed away those thoughts as he felt Sarawat smile in their kiss. Both of their bodies swayed in the melody of their humming and a bit of the club's loud music.

He only pulled away to catch his breath and looked at Sarawat who seemed to have his own dilemma as he whined to Tine when the press of the warm lips left him. Cute, Tine thinks. He was about to dive for another kiss when he felt bile rising up to his throat. Then he rapidly walked through the throngs of people to find the restroom.

“Shit! I did initiate it. I even enjoyed it too.” Tine ruffles his hair in stress at the revelation through his memories. He momentarily forgot that he's still sitting on the bench inside the field. He really needs to see Sarawat right now.

He slightly limps out of his way to the Music club's room. His day isn't going to end with an unspoken conflict, he promised himself.

❤️

Few students lurk the school building after the sun has gone down. Tine drums his fingers on his thighs as he patiently waits outside the school building while listening to Scrubb through his treasured earphones.

When he sees a petite woman coming out of the building with a guitar case thrown over her shoulders, he shouts. “Earn!” He immediately stands up and winces for a second when he feels the pain from his sprained ankle.

Earn turns her head to Tine who’s slightly limping his way to her. “Hey what are you doing here? Are you looking for Sarawat?” She asks.

Tine looks off guard with Earn’s statement. But she’s right though. Am I really easy to read nowadays, he sighs. That’s a minus point for Mr. Chic, he pouts.

“Ah, I forgot something in the music club’s room.” He says defensively while scratching his head.

Earn nods slowly but it looks like she isn’t convinced with Tine’s reasoning. “ Okay … Sarawat volunteered to arrange the instruments back today, I think he’s still there.” She says, choosing to let her suspicion slide, obviously she saw the video too.

Tine mouths a thank you to Earn before going up the stairs to meet Sarawat once and for all.

He hastily climbs up the stairs even if he lets out a small groan whenever his right foot hits the steps, the pain is the last thing in his mind when all he wants is to see Sarawat right now.

When he caught the sight of the club room without its light on, he tries to skip a few steps in hope to catch up with Sarawat. He’s almost near on the last steps when the pain shoots up a lot worse and slips.

He closes his eyes, mentally preparing himself for the impact of falling again for the second time of the day. But a pair of hands shoots up on his arm and shoulder to steady him, leading him to the aisle. Awfully familiar with the way the hands feel, he slowly opens his eyes to stare at him.

Sarawat has his gaze locked on him.

He’s smiling softly at Tine who’s still in his arms. The way he gazes on Tine makes his knee wobble and heat rise to his cheeks, he feels like he could melt right now. Tine is not joking when he feels that his heart beats in sync with the man who has everything Tine could ever want, the one chose to open his heart and gave it to him.

Tine clears his throat and pulls away from the arms that are caging him. He awkwardly fixes his shirt as he recovers his emotions from the Sarawat looks at him.

“You’re the clumsiest man I’ve ever met.” Sarawat rolls his eyes.

He turns his head to look at the empty corridor behind Sarawat in an effort to avoid Sarawat’s eyes on him.

“By the way, what are you doing here?” Sarawat cuts the heavy silence as the sound of the leaves of the trees swaying from the cold wind can be heard.

Tine closes his fists and lets out a heartfelt breath. This is it. “I-I remember everything now. I’m sorry if I can’t recall it at first.” He says as he keeps his gaze lower. Blush dusts his cheeks like a schoolgirl right now, he can’t even imagine that Mr. Chic will be in this position one day.

Sarawat lets out a sigh in relief as he steps closer to Tine. “It’s okay, it’s not like I’m disappointed or wha-.”

“I do mean it, everything–what I just said.” Tine passionately confesses. This time, he’s the one who’s letting his guard down and opening his heart genuinely to Sarawat, who turned his whole world upside down when he accepted his ridiculous offer to be his fake boyfriend just to get some admirer off his back.

So this is what it feels to genuinely fall in love with someone.

A heavy but exhilarating sensation blooms in his chest as his heart pounds.

Tine has never felt so brave in his life until this moment.

He couldn’t decipher the look on Sarawat’s face right now, he looks blank but overwhelmed. He makes another step closer to him to examine Sarawat’s face even more.

Sarawat laughs in disbelief but Tine stops him by gently placing his hands on his cheeks. He couldn’t believe that he would get a chance to get this close to him on his own accord. Sarawat’s eyes flutter as he looks at Tine, it glimmers in wonder, his cheeks flush in pink, while his mouth is slightly open in astonishment.

“Listen well, you’ll probably hear this one time only.” Tine mumbles while keeping his gaze on him.

“The truth is I feel restless when I’m not with you, I feel immensely empty when we have misunderstandings. You’ve changed me, my life is never the same, I don’t think I can stand any day without you by my side. I am reserved, right? I am always yours, as you’re mine, I like you.” Tine confesses softly. Sarawat’s eyes are wet by the time he pours out all of his affection on him, he rubs his thumbs on his tears as he smiles fondly at him.

Tine closes the distance and molds their lips together. “Me too, me too.” Sarawat throws his arms around him and mumbles in between their kisses. Chills run down his spine when the warmth inside him bursts like fireworks. He angles his head to deepen it as he pours his heart out to Sarawat.

Realization struck him, this is what Tine wanted all along.

When Sarawat pulls away from their passionate kiss, they both look at each other, their eyes are full of adoration, gazes that exchange sweet nothings. Sarawat chuckles heartily and nuzzles against his neck, still his arms around him, their chest pressed together, and hearts sighing in content.
