Wei Ying falls in love with the man at first sight. He had been wandering around until he saw the man playing with rabbits in the meadow on a warm, autumn day. This man was quite possibly the most beautiful person in the universe. It was then, that Wei Ying decided to make this man his bride.
See, Wei Ying was ruler of the underworld. Many creatures hesitated to approach him because of this title, but Wei Ying didn’t think he was all that bad of a person. His parents died while he was younger and ever since then, he had been the ruler.
Granted, when he was younger, he made a lot of questionable decisions. But he’s past that stage!
So, like any normal god would do, he captures the man in the garden. He throws him into his chariot as delicately as he can. Then stares the very pretty man down.
“You’re gonna be my bride.”
The man just stares at him, without blinking. This gives him the prime opportunity to look at his beautiful face. His long, dark hair flows down his back pinstraight. His eyes are a warm golden tone and he feels like he is staring the sun down.
His sun.
“I just saw you and you were so beautiful, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity. Everyone is so mean to me because I’m the ruler of the underworld. I didn’t even do anything! I just took on my parents’ job when they passed.” He scoffs, “so anyway, do tell, what is your name?”
The man’s eyebrow furrows slightly and his hands that are resting delicately on his lap tense. “Lan Zhan.”
Wei Ying purrs, “Lan Zhan, oh, Lan Zhan! What a beautiful name. Lan Zhan, you’re going to be my wife. We’re going to rule the underworld together, you won’t mind, will you?”
Lan Zhan frowns slightly, “You don’t talk much do you, Lan Zhan? That’s alright. I’ll talk enough for the both of us.”
Eventually, the arrive at the underworld. His minions greet them and they shout in joy as he announces his wife.
“I’m not your wife.” Lan Zhan says, as he frowns. Wei Ying simply takes his hand and drags him along.
“Hm. Lan Zhan, you don’t seem to like me very much.” Wei Ying pouts, searching the other man’s eyes for a reaction. Lan Zhan’s eyes widen the slightest bit. “How about this,” he pulls out a pomegranate. “If you don’t eat any of these pomegranate seeds, then I will return you to where you came from.”
He grasps the man’s hand and puts the pomegranate seeds in his hand and waits.
Lan Zhan frowns at him, before eating all the pomegranate seeds in his hand.
“I’m not your wife. I’m your husband, Wei Ying.” Wei Ying giggles at the man.
“I know, I know, Lan Zhan. Ah, how I missed you!” He grasps the man's waist and winks at him. “Are you sure you don’t want to go back,” he says while wiggling his eyebrow at the man.
He frowns. “No. I love Wei Ying.”
