He doesn’t say, please take me back. Doesn’t say, sometimes I wish you’d taken me back with you all those years ago.
But Lan Zhan shakes his head, small and deliberate, the tiniest, most devastating shift in the world. Wei Wuxian exhales audibly.
"Wei Ying. I have come to ask you to take me away with you."

“Why?” Lan Zhan blurted out as heart lurched uncomfortably in his chest.
“Wow, okay.” Wei Ying startled, eyes going wide. “That inspires confidence in my choices.”
“I did not mean it that way. I was simply surprised.” People rarely moved to his city unless they were taking a job with the state. What were the odds that the first man he’d been attracted to in years, outside a movie screen, had just moved there?
Something must be horribly wrong with him. Lan Zhan’s luck was not that good.
Lan Zhan meets a cute boy, misinterprets Wei Ying's attempt to ask him out, and spends months pining for his own boyfriend.
