“Is it almost done?”
“98 percent left.”
“Fuck, why is your wi-fi so slow?”
“I’m sorry. We’re not exactly in a luxury hotel. We have to make do.”
“Fuck you. LOOK IT’S AT 99 PERCENT NOW!”
“You don’t have to yell into my ear!”
“100 PERCENT!”
After five long hours, ten shots of vodka, and a computer crash later, their first video finally uploads to the internet. It’s a surreal feeling to see it displayed proudly on the screen. Everyone told them that no one is going to notice them even if they tried but they persevered. They slaved away hours in front of the computer creating the perfect introductory video.
!! NOT CLICKBAIT !! MEET THE SHINY NEW VILLAIN PAIR IN TOWN (BOYFRIEND TAG!!)
It’s a brilliant scheme of epic proportions. Up and coming villains making a name for themselves by uploading their crimes on the internet. Ever since Gentle Criminal was thrown behind bars, many (no one) were wondering who would take his place as the new Viral Villain (Gentle was never one to begin with). But everyone (literally no one) overlooked the key factor to Gentle Criminal’s untimely arrest.
It’s that he was a grade A boomer.
He had to seek help from a child who grew up with the internet. But not the two of them. No. Katsuki and Shouto have been planning to overtake the (non-existent) mantle of the most viral villains of all time. They’ve got the charm, the looks, and most importantly the power that Gentle never had. They are a villainous duo that will take over the world, one video at a time.
“Did we edit it too goofy?” Shouto asked as he went and replayed their introduction video. He rather thought that the faerie lights in the background were a nice touch. It gave them a little touch of softness to their otherwise hardcore villainous personas. “What if they don’t take us seriously?”
“We kill them. Plain and simple.” Katsuki said, shrugging his shoulders as if it was the most obvious solution in the world.
Shouto nods with a wide grin. “Of course. You’re so smart, Katsuki.”
“Better keep up, babe.”
They continue to watch their video, laughing at their own jokes and simultaneously taking note what could be improved on in their next video. It won’t be perfect right off the bat. They admit that fully. But they will rise up. They will take over the world through the camera lens and everyone will remember their names after just one click.
After a few more rounds of viewing, Shouto shuts the laptop off, satisfied with their handiwork. Katsuki hands him a can of soda from their mini fridge (which they stole of course) and he proposes a toast to the two of them. To their newfound life of crime together. Shouto raises his own can to clink Katsuki’s and they laugh as they discuss their plans for the rest of the week.
“What should we do first, Katsuki?”
Katsuki takes a long gulp from his soda can, smacking his lips into a knowing smirk. Shouto smirks back. They both look to the corner of the room, where a block of ice rests, and inside the block of ice is their next big video project. Katsuki approaches the corner and takes a long strip of cloth from his back pocket. He bites his lip, barely able to contain his excitement. If they don’t go viral with this then he doesn’t know what will.
“Let’s start off with everyone’s favorite hero, hm?” Katsuki takes the long strip of cloth and wraps it around their prisoner’s mouth. His eyes widen and Katsuki is staring down at confused yet mildly terrified emerald green. “Mind if I introduce you to our viewers… Number one hero?”
At that statement, Deku, their special guest for the day, struggles in his frozen prison while Katsuki laughs at his misery. Shouto finishes setting up the camera on the tripod, his grin matching Katsuki’s manic expression.
This is going to be good.
“Smile for the camera, Deku!”
Izuku wakes up in his apartment in a cold sweat with a little note stuck to his forehead. For some reason, he half expected this exact scenario but it doesn’t make it any less terrifying. With shaking hands, he takes the note and reads it.
