   Summary

   A courier walks the Mojave, always two steps ahead of the reaper, the black dog. She would give anything to forget what she's running from. When it finally gets its jaws around her throat, her wish is granted - but it's not all she'd hoped it would be.

   Meanwhile, Boone can't embrace death fast enough. Stuck in the past, desperately waiting for something, anything, to change, but unable to change himself.

   Fate crosses their paths. Two broken people going in opposite directions who meet in the middle to seek revenge. Instead, they find something else.
