Work Text:
Izuku stood on the stage behind a curtain listening to the whole school talking. He may be scared, but if he doesn't speak up for the Quirkless then who will? Taking a deep breath, Izuku walked into the stage and cleared his throat into the microphone, capturing everyone's attention. "I know that most of you don't care, but being born without a Quirk can happen to anyone. Regardless if one of your parents has a Quirk or both of them do. I should know because I was originally Quirkless, but someone gave me my Quirk. I've been abused, shunned, even suicide baited just for being Quirkless. How would you feel if you were Quirkless and your peers treated you this way? Choose your words carefully, because not everyone is mentally and/or emotionally stable. I hope this song will change your view of Quirkless people. Because, what you mean is not like you," Izuku explained before starting to sing.
"You think I'm an ignorant savage. And you've been so many places, I guess it must be so. But still, I cannot see if the savage one is me. How can there be so much that you don't know? You don't know...."
By now, he could tell that he had everyone's attention, so he continued singing the song.
"You think you treat us however you see fit. We're all just pawns in your game. Listen to the spirits of the forest, and learn from them. Walking in the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew. Have you ever heard the Quirkless cry for help? Or asked the crying child why she cries? Can you sing with all the echoes of the valley? Can you dance with all the colors of the wind? Can you dance with all the colors of the wind?"
Now, Izuku was utilizing his ice powers to aid him in acrobatics. He was flipping, spinning, and dancing on the ice like a professional figure skater. Some of the students, like Monoma, were starting to feel guilty about their view for Quirkless people. How could Class 1-A's cinnamon bun be treated in such a horrible way?
"Come run the hidden alleys of the city. Come hear the screams and cries of the kids. Some children don't have the best, parents in the world. What in the world are friends for? Ochaco Uraraka is my sister, Tenya Iida is my friend! And we are all connected to each other, in a circle, in a hoop that never ends. How far as All Might come? If you shoot him down, then you'll never know. And you'll never hear the Quirkless cry for help. For whether, a hero or not. We need to sing with all the echoes of the valley. We need to dance with all the colors of the wind. You can be a hero true, look inside yourself. And soon, you will see, that having a Quirk. Matters not,"
