Summary
“Like most of the younger generation Jungkook had grown up in a divided city as a child, and he continued to live in a divided city as an adult. Because fear and distrust on both sides kept the city divided, even if not physically.
Jungkook had grown up with all the stories and rumours and the city’s bloody history. He had grown up with fear in his heart and his mother’s words of caution in his mind: Beware of the West, beware of the Others.”

The river divides the city into East and West, Human and Other, the two sides only connected by the giant drawbridge in the city center. During the day, the bridge remains down, and both sides are able to travel freely — but all humans know never to stay on the west side past nightfall, when the bridge raises.
After an incident, human Jungkook gets locked in the West, which is the beginning of a series of fateful events. He finds friendship, love and deceit, soon coming to realize that ‘monsters’ can be found on both sides of the bridge.
