   Summary

   Shinra Kusakabe was broken. It was an undeniable fact that he had come to terms with, considering everything he had gone through. Haijima had torn him apart, mentally and physically, and he knew there were no chances of him ever being put back together. Three years after being abandoned, Shinra finally graduates from the academy and joins Special Fire Force Company Eight. It’s his chance to be the Hero he always promised to be, and yet, his first official dispatch ends in failure. It takes him a while, but he eventually realizes that maybe his friends need him more than his work does. And maybe he needs them too.
