Peace and quiet.
What simple things they are, when you have them you don’t think twice. When they are gone you miss them terribly.
Tsuchigomori used to be like that, taking the peace and quiet for granted. Ever since Honorable No.7 and his assistant came and destroyed his yorishiro his life has been nothing but loud. Plus the smaller Minamoto adding to the chaos that now surrounds his life.
Sitting in his office gazing out his window, relishing from the calm that surrounded him. That is until his door flies open revealing Kou Minamoto, one of the main causes of chaos in his life.
Ever since the young exorcist found out about Yashiro Nene’s impending death, he’s taken it upon himself to come and bother Tsuchigomori everyday to let him read her book. Or demanding Tsuchigomori help him to stop it.
It isn’t like he has anything against Yashiro, but he knows that you can not change fate. If her book says she is going to die she will die, end of story. Though the young exorcist still hasn’t come to terms with that.
Sitting at his desk trying to ignore him calling him Spider-face gets harder everyday, mainly for the fact that no matter how many times he corrects him he still says it.
The worst day was when he brought a box of bugs to his office thinking that was going to persuade him to change his mind. Good thing Yashiro was there to take them away, though he fears she kept them for some odd reason.
After yelling at Kou and literally kicking him out of his office then for good measure slamming the door closed behind him quiet falls over his office again.
Finishing up on his classes for the day means he can go back to his office and be alone, or that's what he was planning. Noticing that his door was slightly opened he knew one of them was going to be there now, it was just a guess on which one.
The moment he is through the threshold a weight is dropped on him, one that he is painfully familiar with. Walking straight toward his desk with Honorable No. 7 on his back not even taking the time to question his sudden appearance in his office or his need to jump on his back.
Whining that he isn't any fun, No. 7 hopes off his back and starts wandering around the room, touching everything and picking up everything that wasn’t bolted down. He has been coming in here far more than before; Tsuchigomori assumes it has to do with Yashiro but knows not to ask.
After an hour and a half No.7 finally decides to leave, with only destroying 55% of the order in the office. Broken beakers litter the ground crunching with every step he takes.
Saying that Honorable No.7 left on his own would be a lie.
Tsuchigomori chased him around the entire office screaming at him to clean up the mess he made. In the end he ran out laughing, shouting he was far too busy to clean it up, but maybe next time.
Turning toward his office to see the full extent of damage was shocking to say the least. Anything made out of glass was broken and scattered about, on the table and floor papers were thrown about from the chase.
The candy that he normally has hidden in his desk drawer are now everywhere causing a group of Mokke to appear behind him at the door. Those murderous pink demons know not to enter Tsuchigomori’s office without permission, so they are all just hovering at the entrance, waiting.
Knowing he isn’t going to be able to fix this mess he just walks out, waving the mokke to do as they please while he gets some air.
His entire walk he was ranting about all of his new grievances and annoyances, and about how he can never get any amount of peace and quiet. The campus is silent with most of the students having just finished club activities and headed home.
Glancing up at the sky seeing the array of colors bleeding together he knows it is past five o’clock. His walk has been almost two hours long, and he can’t avoid the mess in his office for much longer.
Spinning on his heel to head back the way he came, grumbling in annoyance at No.7 for causing the mess and how he should be the one to clean it up. Though the moment he thinks of it he knows for a fact that he would never clean it up himself.
Coming to terms with the fact he was on his own with the mess, Tsuchigomori slides open the door.
Though what he sees shocks him, or what he doesn’t see. Leaning back and checking the name plate over the door making sure it was in fact his office and turning back to what is inside in utter shock.
There was no longer any glass on the floor and not a single paper out of place, the chair he had knocked over from chasing No.7 was back upright and tucked under his desk, plus not a single Mokke lingered about either.
All he could think about was how this all happened and in only two hours it was back in perfect order, aside from the missing breakers and tubes he had.
Still in complete shock over it all he finally notices a note with a package next to it. Knowing that this wasn’t here before Tsuchigomori reaches for the note; to his surprise, it is from Yashiro.
The note states that she is sorry for the mess that Hanako made and that if he does it again she will make him clean it himself, plus she had left over donuts that she made earlier she left for him. Still in shock over the fact that she went and not only cleaned all of it up but got the Mokke out of his office in only two hours.
The most shocking thing was that she cared enough to do it and to leave him donuts as an apology.
Thinking back on the day's events which are filled with noise and chaos he can’t help but think of how it used to be. Thinking back on the calm stillness that used to always surround him and how cold it used to feel.
Now he rarely feels like that, given some of the chaos and messes are unwanted, it does liven up his day. Peace and quiet can be good sometimes, but having a little bit of chaos isn’t always a bad thing either.
Settling down at his freshly cleaned desk, he takes a donut out of the package that Yashiro had left behind and just as he takes a bite a familiar chill creeps down his body. Glaring over his shoulder to confirm it is those pink annoyances crowding in his doorframe waiting for a cause to steal his sweets.
Holding the donut in the air in a taunting manner he sinks his teeth into it grumbling a no to be rewarded with a chorus of sad whines from the Mokke. It shouldn’t but their complaints make him smirk knowing that he can at least control one problem in his life.
