Chapter Text
She hates her condition ...
She hates her Herculean strength, she hates her birthmark on her neck, she hates her gargantuan appetite, she hates the pink ends of her hair, she hates her pink eyes… All her brothers and her sister inherited the red eyes from their father, she is the only exception, as if to say that she was an anomaly.
She takes great care to hide her mark by keeping the collar of her kimono high enough, not a lock of hair protrudes from her perfectly styled bun and she takes particular care to keep away from any physical task so as not to arouse suspicion on her strength, appearing frail and delicate instead.
She forces herself to eat little, firmly ignoring the pleas of her stomach while her brothers and her little sister tirelessly offer her part of their respective meals, which she systematically refuses. It is up to her, the older sister, to ensure that the youngest have a full stomach!
She considers herself fortunate to have been born in such a loving family, the only reason why she did not hate herself completely.
And, the day a hideous creature emerges in their humble house in the middle of the night, seeing the body of her adored big brother falls heavily on the ground, bloodied, while the youngest of her siblings tries to hide behind her, meeting his terrorized gaze, she felt an immense rage take hold of her body and, seizing a kitchen knife, she threw herself on the monster, pushing the blade deeply into the neck.

Since joining the ranks of Demon Slayers, Mitsuri had seen a fair amount of oddity of all kinds. Since demons can develop powers as varied as they are strange, you were not immune to seeing the strangest things happen. Well, when you fight creatures that only come out at night to feed on unlucky humans, that was pretty much the norm ...
However, despite all the oddity witnessed by the newly named Pillar of Love, the spectacle before her was no less surprising.
A demon, or at least what was left of it, was nailed to the ground by two uprooted trees. Branches had been firmly planted in its limbs, when they had not been purely torn off and immobilized further, also by branches or tools, such as a shovel or an ax.
An imposing rock stood in place of the head, which must have been promptly crushed, judging by the abundance of blood covering the snow.
Mitsuri could hear the monster drop a complaint from time to time, limbs sometimes spasm.
Whatever had happened, this demon must have had a really bad time ... And honestly, she was a little sorry for him.
After quickly finishing it off, the young woman headed for the house in the middle of the clearing, right next to the massacre.
She expected to find corpses outside the demolished door but it did not happen. None of the family members, although nervous, appear to be injured.
At the entrance, one of the boys, quite tall with a checkered scarf, stands in front of the rest of the family, a knife in his hand, while the mother tries to hide the younger ones behind her.
Mitsuri placed her hands in front of her, trying to appear as friendly as possible.
" Who are you ?" Asked the mother.
"My name is Kanroji Mitsuri," replied the Pillar calmly. "I am a Demon Slayer"
"Demons? Like this thing outside?" Asked the boy with the scarf.
Mitsuri nodded.
"By the way, are you the one who immobilized the demon?" The boy shook his head.
"My big sister did it ..." he added.
She noticed the big red color of the floor at the entrance. Noticing her surprise, the mother spoke.
"Tanjiro was seriously injured by this monster, Nezuko took him to the doctor. "
This complicated the situation ... An injury inflicted by a demon could have very serious side effects.
"… Is your child's blood only? Mitsuri asked, her stomach suddenly writhing in anxiety.
"No, it’s more like the demon when Nezuko attacked him. "
The situation was getting very complicated.
"Where are they both now?"
"Uh ... Nezuko is probably still going down the mountain, with all this snow. "
"I have to catch up with your daughter quickly!" Exclaimed the Pillar as she left. "You have nothing more to fear from the demon!" She signaled quickly before setting off on the road towards the village.
She really wanted her gut wrong (but it can never be that simple, can it?)
Mitsuri didn't have to go far before hearing grunts and the sounds of struggle.
Before being able to reach the source of the noise, there was silence, followed shortly after by muffled crying. Finally, she saw two silhouettes, one of which was held above the other, the handle of an ax blocking its sharp fangs.
The Pillar of Love drew her katana, she had to quickly slay this demon before he killed someone. But, while her saber was wrapped around the neck of the beast, the latter was pushed to the side by the person under it and a powerful kick violently pushed Mitsuri who hit a tree after that.
The young woman looked in amazement at the tree she had just hit slowly collapsing half uprooted. She turned to the person who had pushed her away.
Mitsuri had seen a good deal of oddity in joining the Slayers, but nothing could prepare her for this vision.
Facing her was a young teenage girl with pink eyes, long black hair with pink tips, and holding the demon in her arms without the slightest difficulty, Mitsuri could easily feel the immeasurable force emanating from her.
The Pillar vanished and captured the demon in a second, leaving the girl stunned. The latter rose quickly, ax in hand.
"Don't move." said the young woman, firmly. She had to be serious about this situation.
The demon, arms locked behind his back, gesticulated violently, growling, trying to free himself from the grip, without success.
"Let go of my brother right away!"
"Are you calling this your brother?"
The teenage girl stared at her.
"He is no longer your brother now but a demon and it is my role to eliminate him."
"No!" exclaimed the girl in a desperate tone. "There must be another solution! Onii-chan has not hurt anyone!"
"He was about to devour you!"
"But he did not do it! There must be a treatment, something for him to become human again!"
"It does not exist..."
"Then I will find one!" the girl replied with determination.
What a powerful brotherly love! It's adorable! No, no, Mitsuri! Stay serious!
Clearly, this boy had become a demon but there was something very strange in his aura. In addition, he had had ample opportunity to attack his sister when she had him in his arms, but he did nothing while usually the newly transformed demons do not hesitate to devour their own family.
And the demons had to be eliminated ...
The young woman raised her saber, ready to behead him.
Suddenly, a stone struck her hand forcefully.
"Don't touch my brother!" yelled the teenager, disappearing behind a cloud of snow lifted by the wind. Another stone was thrown and Mitsuri stopped it with the handle of her katana.
The girl emerges from behind a tree near Mitsuri, uttering a war cry.
A frontal attack?
"Don't be so stubborn!" exclaimed the Pillar, knocking out her attacker with a powerful blow on the back which fell into the snow, unconscious.
Well, Mitsuri had to recognize that this girl did not hesitate to take action, using the terrain to her advantage but ... where is her ax?
A hiss above her was her only warning and she just had time to tilt her head to the side as the blade sank deep into the trunk, shattering part of the bark. Mitsuri paled.
It ... it could have been my skull ...
And, at that moment, she noticed a certain mark on the girl's neck. A mark similar to the one Mitsuri sported in the same place. But, she had obtained it after her training and her multiple missions. How did this girl get it?
Unfortunately for her, the demon took advantage of his amazement to manage to free himself and push her away with a kick, about to throw himself on the unconscious figure of his sister.
Heck, she'll be devoured!
But Mitsuri did not have to rush to the rescue of the girl ... because, instead of devouring her, the demon positioned himself in front of his sister in a defense position, groaning fiercely.
After a while, the demon threw himself on the Pillar but the latter dodged it without problem.
None of his attacks are dangerous, it looks like he's trying to intimidate me.
The assaults continued for a moment, then the demon jumped into the air and used a tree as a springboard to repel the woman.
This demon ... He is different from the others.
She knocked him out with the back of his hand.
It didn't take long for the sister to wake up, immediately taking her brother's body in her arms.
"Already awake? I hit hard though." Mitsuri tried to joke.
The girl hugged her brother protectively and gave her a suspicious look.
"Don't worry, I won't do anything! I have a question instead: this mark on your neck, how did you get it?"
Her interlocutor frowned and put a hand on her neck.
"I was born with it ..."
Mitsuri suddenly realized why Oyakata-sama had sent her to an area outside her district.
She sighed deeply. She must have had a long, very long (too long) conversation with this girl and her family now.
"Uh ..." started the teenager. "If you are not going to kill my brother, are you going to help us?"
"Of course!" she exclaimed, all perky. "You showed that you did not let yourself be shot down and your brother proved to me that he was not dangerous! And then, he even protected you, it was beautiful to see!"
The girl looked at her dazed.
Ah!
Noooo! I had to be serious !!
