Summary
Quentin Coldwater led a relatively normal, quiet, plain life, as one would expect of an aspiring engineering student. That is, until the charismatic whirlwind of Eliot Waugh burst into his life like a flamboyant storm. The two were collective opposites; where Quentin was dorky and shy Eliot was witty and enigmatic, where Quentin held a very small circle of friends Eliot knew the majority of Manhattan. But despite the raw differences they shared, there was an undeniable connection pooling between the two that neither could seem to ignore.
Mourning the death of his father, Quentin finds himself on Eliot's doorstep one starry spring night. He takes abiding comfort in the warmth of Eliot's skin, the ease of his touch, until what had been a simple kinship shared between close friends falls drastically into something entirely more complicated. As the lines between friendship and something vastly more become blurred, Quentin and Eliot find themselves stranded in some strange, middle place full of hidden feelings and passionate desires. They find a common ground within the horrific tales of their past, but will coming together make them whole or only break them further?
