Chapter Text
Midtown Tech, a school for gifted kids in the technology and science departments.
This school had seen a lot, but it had never seen Annabeth Chase.
Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, a savior of Olympus, and also the world. Girlfriend of Percy Jackson, and a badass bitch who could kill without hesitation.
Peter Parker wasn’t really sure what to make of the new student, an extremely scary blonde girl who’s glare rivaled MJ’s and who was also smart as a whip.
Funnily enough, Peter found himself sitting next to Annabeth in all of their shared classes, though they didn’t exchange a word until a week later.
“You’re late,” Annabeth commented smoothly as Peter quickly sat down, rushing to get his books out.
“I’m not late, I still have two minutes before the bell rings!” Peter tried to defend himself, but he was only met with Annabeth’s ‘bitch please’ look.
“You always arrive at the same time every day. Today, you are five minutes later than usual, care to explain?”
Peter bit the inside of his cheek, trying not to panic.
It was true, Peter always arrived at the same time, it was a habit had gotten into after Ben’s death. If you stick to a schedule, you can’t be consumed by wallowing sadness.
Peter sighed and put his head on his desk.
“I’m going to tell you the truth, but most people don’t believe me when I tell them, they think I’m making it up for attention. I swear, I’m not lying-”
“Spit it out, Parker,” Annabeth smirked, stopping Peter’s rambling before it could pick up steam.
“I stayed with Mr. Stark last night because we were working on a project until late last night so he offered to let me stay. I promise I’m not lying about the internship, I do work with Mr. Stark,” Peter gave Annabeth a pleading look, trying to get her to believe him.
“Ok,” she said simply, pulling out a notebook and starting to doodle in the margins.
“‘Ok’?” Peter asked, not believe what he’d just heard.
“Ok,” Annabeth repeated, not looking up, “I believe you, Peter, I don’t think you’re the type to lie for attention,”
Peter stared at her for a moment before smiling slightly.
Maybe he had just made a new friend.
