Work Text:

If this is Heaven, Jotaro doesn’t want to reincarnate.

Because, honestly, what can be better than laying down on a bed after days fighting for their lives, on a night that is miraculously not too cold nor too hot, with his head on his boyfriend’s lap while the gorgeous redhead caresses his hair, soft lips curling around a song in a language Jotaro has no hopes in understanding, but beautiful nonetheless.

“What’s that song?” He struggles not to slur, heavy eyes stubbornly watching the pretty boy smile down at him.

“It’s from Brazil.”

“Speak Brazilian?”

“ Brazilian Portuguese, JoJo.” Noriaki huffs a laugh, pressing Jotaro’s nose gently. “And, yes, it’d be odd for me to not speak my country’s language.”

“You Brazilian?” Jotaro is not a person of many words, but he tends to be more eloquent. He also tends not to have Noriaki’s fingers running through his scalp soothingly all the time, which now he knows it’s a crime.

Ignorance really can be good sometimes, as he didn’t suffer the previous seventeen years of his life without the redhead caresses thanks to not knowing better. But now he does, and he really doesn’t want to go back to before.

“Yes. Mom was born there and so was I, we moved to Japan when I was around twelve.”

Jotaro hums, eyes almost closing as his boyfriend’s fingers brush against his forehead, smoothing his frown.

It doesn’t matter if they had fought a semi immortal vampire three days ago, and that all of them had sustained injuries even the SPW panicked a bit, and that they were currently all in a hospital in Cairo waiting for the doctors to allow them to return to their lives, and that they all now sport entire constellations of scars; Jotaro winning the first place in “number of scars” thanks to his desperate need to protect everyone, followed by Polnareff and Joseph, since the two idiots are danger magnets.

But Noriaki definitely wins the “coolest scar” award. The twin slits across his eyes give him an edge of danger, and boost the mysterious air his elegant appearance and lavender eyes carry.

“The song is called ‘Por Enquanto’; it means ‘For Now’. I remembered it because… well, it fits us.”

“How so?”

“The lyrics are about changes, and how things change and don’t at the same time.”

“... What?”

Nori lets out another soft chuckle, leaning down as much as their situation allowed him—only God can tell how much effort they both are doing to keep Jotaro from slipping from the stupidly short bed. And no, it’s not just him being a giant, the bed is too small for Kakyoin —to deposit a small kiss on his chin.

God, and Jotaro had lived seventeen years without those lips and their kisses? Unbelievable, utterly unbelievable.

“Example: after this trip, we’ve changed, but we’re still Noriaki and Jotaro. ‘Para sempre sempre acaba’, forever always ends. We change, we always change as nothing ever can stay the same, but we never stop being who we are.”

Jotaro understands.

Much like scars, change comes.

Some stick, some fade. And every time they leave you a bit different than before. But you’re still you.

“I was gonna ask you if you wanted to spend forever with me, but… thinking better, let me rephrase.”

Jotaro brings his hands to Noriaki’s face, reverently caressing the scars on his lovely lavender eyes.

The eyes of Kakyoin Noriaki. Not the same Noriaki he had met what now feels like an eternity ago, but that’s alright. He is not the same Kujo Jotaro as back then, too.

“Nori, let’s be us together, and change together every day.”
