Work Text:

Is Jotaro staring? Yes.

Is he going to stop? No.

Can he even stop? Absolutely not.

Because his boyfriend is glowing right now, and if Jotaro can’t stare at him, what does he want his eyes for?

So he sits there, in that squeaky plastic chair near the folding table with some brand of beer stamped on it holding some fresh juice—no beer before lunch, it’s the rule—, two half full cups and a small sound box blasting something he recognizes as Bossa Nova with all the might such small thing has, frying under the almost unbearable sun of summer in São Paulo, ignoring the world around him as he watches his boyfriend coo at his cherry tree. “Pitangueira”, actually, but there is no way he’s saying that out loud. His Brazilian Portuguese is shit, worse than even his heavily accented English, and, besides, there is already something he wants to say to Nori when he finally gets the hang of Portuguese, might as well save it.

It surprised him greatly when he first stepped in the house, having lived an entire year in the always busy New York, he had expected a small house, or apartment, in the middle of the city. Instead, they went to a less convoluted part of the megacity, a mostly peaceful neighborhood near a park, and the house is comfortably big, with the most impressive part definitely being the large garden with flowers, herbs and a tree in the middle of it all. Both of them were left alone there by the Kakyoin parents, the two taking a much welcomed vacation.

Hey, Jotaro is not complaining.

Not when Nori turns to look at him and the sun hits his hair and makes him look downright angelic. Lavender eyes crinkle up with his large smile, and he approaches Jotaro with a saunter. JoJo drinks up the image of his boyfriend in his tank top and jeans shorts, his waist swaying tantalizingly, sweat from tending to the garden running down his skin.

God, is he beautiful.

“See something you like, doc?”

Noriaki started calling him “doc” as soon as he decided to take Marine Biology as a major. He can’t say he dislikes it.

Jotaro raises his hand, an offering, letting out a pleased sigh when the man takes a seat on his lap. The chair squeaks again, but nothing more, and some part of his mind commends whoever created it. Noriaki’s skin is hot warm against his, him having given up the shirt earlier, leaving his chest out for the sunshine to feast. He can feel the dirt on Nori’s hands touching his torso, but he doesn’t care.

It’ll become an excuse to shower together before lunch, anyways.

“I do.” He breathes, ghosting his lips over his lover’s.

He can almost taste the pitangas his boyfriend ate together with the juice steadily warming on the table. Noriaki always tastes fruity and Jotaro adores it.

“SEM BEIJO!”

“Jesus Christ!” Startled, Nori backs away, almost falling off his perch weren’t for Jotaro’s quick reaction.

Both men look at the table. Standing there, near the jar, with his head held high, is the bane of Jotaro’s existence.

To think that the man has fought bullies his entire life, then Stand users everyday to get to fight a semi immortal vampire who had been enemies with the family almost their entire existence, then survived family dinners that brought together both his and Nori’s family… Only to end up having his life made a thousand times harder by a fucking parrot.

“Gimme a break.” He groans, missing the kiss he didn't get.

“Oh, Zé. Assim você assusta o papai, moço.” Noriaki coos, his deep voice curling on the words pleasantly.

The bird perks up at the attention directed to him, waddling closer with an obvious glare in his eyes. A glare directed to Jotaro, who glares back just as intensely.

José is the parrot of the family. A green mean thing with a powerful beak and an even more powerful screeching. The feathery little ass is like a guard dog when it comes to Nori, loudly complaining and screeching when someone or something he doesn’t approve of gets too close. The first week they spent in the house, he had screamed every time Jotaro came even near Noriaki, which immediately made the redhead shower him in reassurance and affection.

The bird. Not Jotaro.

Needless to say, they rapidly became the greatest rivals.

“JoJo, stop glaring at my baby.”

“I thought you didn’t like babies.”

“Oh, shut up, you.” Nori gently pets the bird once it gets close enough. “Você só quer proteger o papai, não é, coisinha?”

“Nori! Nori!”

Then he looks at Jotaro, eye to eye.

“NO!” José screams, Nori bursting in laughter.

Jotaro looks at the sky, holding his boyfriend’s waist so he doesn’t fall in his boisterous fit of laughter and tuning out the loud screeches of disapproval coming from José.

What was that his mother-in-law likes to say?

Ah, yes.

“Lord, give me patience, ‘cuz if you give me strength I might kill someone.”

Maybe he smiles a bit when Nori’s laughter comes back with a vengeance, the redhead resting his head on his chest as his body shakes uncontrollably, and the parrot starts imitating it like a chorus.
