Just kidding! Professor James Barnes, known as “Bucky” to his family and closest friends, tenured associate professor of English at NYU and recognized expert on Jane Austen and late 18-century/Regency literature, may be handsome and clever, but he’s certainly not rich. He has a comfortable home, that’s true - a bijou two-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn Heights with a long-term lease - and he’d love to live there by himself, but even tenured NYU professors can’t afford that luxury.
So he needs a roommate, and this is where life is distressing and vexing him.
