Work Text:

Yoongi quietly gazed up at the star clad sky, feeling an echo of peace wash over his exhausted body. He let his eyes fall lightly shut, enjoying the warm, evening breeze brush against his pale skin, tenderly brushing between his over-dyed locks, which happened to be blond at the moment, that rested against his worry free face. Yoongi's back was feeling the somewhat unpleasant push and pull of the concrete roof that they had to lie down on.

Jeongguk was resting beside him, basking in the moonlight that graciously highlighted his beautiful features, with the help of the Seoul city lights. The two haven't had much time together, due to their comeback being just around the corner. After weeks and weeks of relentless practice, they finally found an evening without any sort of schedules, or the other members around them. So - so, Yoongi could finally fix his arms around his lover, his angel, his everything. Who silently loved him back, with gentle, continuous caresses along his arm.

The silence didn't last for very long. Yoongi could feel that there were bottled up thoughts in the younger, despite the seemingly nonchalant expression that painted his side-profile.

Preparing for comebacks has always been both a blessing and a curse. While the members could avoid the parrot like questions of some interviewers, restless practice took place instead. While they could avoid travelling back and forth on planes, the panic of having to produce songs and write lyrics, according to deadlines set by the company, replaced it. It also meant that Jeongguk spent a lot more time around his hyungs, who produced heaps of songs for this album too - especially with Namjoon, who has been helping him to produce his own songs for his mixtape.

Jeongguk's voice was soft, honey laced, and quiet. It was reflective, and there was something else hiding below the layers and layers of viscous honey - which Yoongi thought to be fear.

“Stars make me feel so insignificant, hyungie, I’m literally nothing compared to what the whole universe holds, I really am just one tiny particle that somehow ended up here.”

Slowly opening his eyes, Yoongi turned his head towards his lover, and gazed at him with wonder. Jeongguk's once nonchalant expression now held a deep frown, his orbs were glazed over with focus, and something distant that Yoongi couldn't quite place. The shorter man placed a small peck on his neck, positioning himself so that he could watch over the other.

"Are you okay, love?" He inquired caringly, brushing Jeongguk's cheek with the back of his hand, marvelling at how soft and warm the younger's cheeks were.

"I'm okay, hyungie, just wondering about how small we really are, compared to everything else around us, you know?" Jeongguk replied softly, shifting his eyes to finally look into the curled eyes he fell in love with. A small smile made its way onto his previously worried face, before he cheekily added: "Look up, stop staring at me, I'm making theories about our existence."

"Mhm," Yoongi mumbled, eyes not leaving the youngers' sun kissed face. "You're gorgeous tonight." He whispered into his ear, slightly pulling on one of the hoops that graced the brunette's ear. Yoongi could almost hear the younger blushing, as he felt a soft jab into his side.

"Yah!" Jeongguk gasped, embarrassment clear in his voice, and he decided to add a small hit to Yoongi's shoulder as an attempt to hide the extent of his embarrassment. But, after years and years of living with each other, Yoongi was well acquainted with just how much effect he has on the younger.

"Like I said," Jeongguk huffed in faux annoyance, "I'm making theories about our existence." Despite how clear his embarrassment was, he still graced Yoongi with a chaste peck on his lips, before he turned back towards the sky.

Finally deciding to listen to the younger's previous request, he forced himself to stop staring at the man's face next to him. Instead, he looked back up at the sky again, trying to shift his mindset into something similar to the younger's.

It was a surprisingly clear night tonight - the dark blue painted cardboard that was the sky, had brightly glowing stars hanging off of it, brightening everyone's evening with their hopeful presence. Yoongi was once again made glad for the minute of silence he could find with Jeongguk - he felt that their busy schedules were starting to put up a wall between them, that neither of them wanted, but it was unfortunately something that came with the job.

The warm evening wind started around them again, slightly rustling the clothes the two men wore. Yoongi felt a shiver run down his body, while goosebumps grew steadily on his skin. He shuffled a bit closer to the warmth of the brunette, who seemed to be in an even deeper thought than previously.

When the wind settled, another wave of comfortable silence washed over the pair. That was until the honey dew voice of the younger spoke gently again, with his tattoo clad hands pointing towards the deep sea of stars above them.

"So, those are the stars-" Yoongi cut him off.

"Baby, we already established that." Yoongi smiled teasingly at him, his smile growing further when he noticed the light pink bouquet roses growing atop of Jeongguk's cheeks.

"S-shut up, I was collecting my thoughts." He scrambled to explain himself, lips curling slightly, bashfully.

"I know you were, baby." Yoongi brushed his hand up the other's side, looking back at the sky as he continued his administrations. Jeongguk took a breath before continuing.

"Anyways, so the stars-" Yoongi cut him off again.

"The stars-"

"Oh my God, will you let me speak?" Jeongguk was growing annoyed, eyebrows tightly furrowed, lips pouty. Yoongi laughed, staying silent to let the younger express his weird philosophical thoughts, even though he knew his brain couldn't take it. But he would do anything for him. Always.

“The stars seem so close, but they're actually so far from us, it’s… scary. They seem like tiny orbs, but, hyung, they’re literal suns like our one, you know the one that’s on the other side, like that’s massive, yet they’re so tiny to us, and we’ll never actually see them. Like, see see them, you know?” Yoongi nodded in response, smirking quietly to himself. His hands brushed under the younger's shirt, starting to rub up and down there, instead of over his shirt.

"And," Jeongguk continued, his words becoming speedy. "What if at the end of the world all of these stars, or suns, will just all collectively explode at the same time? Like, what if some people will actually experience that, it sounds so scary, hyungie." He rambled, finally pausing to take a deep breath, fear clear on his face.

Yoongi desperately tried not to giggle at the younger's mess of thoughts, and instead explained: "Jeonggukkie, humans will be long dead by then, long long dead."

Jeongguk seemed to completely ignore Yoongi's logical explanation. "So anyways, we're all basically insignificant in relation to what's out there. What if there are creatures larger than us, what if there are other 'human' beings, somewhat like us? What if-"

While Yoongi was endlessly endeared by the younger's rambling, he found that existential talks were not exactly his forte, especially after living with Namjoon for nearly a decade at this point. Their leader, over time, has become aware that not all of them could handle his philosophical side, so he instead expressed them through lyrics - and now he seems to have found their youngest member to be his next target of his existential crises.

So, with his lowkey resentment towards the whole question mark towards their existence, Yoongi sloppily dragged himself up from Jeongguk's side, sitting himself onto the younger's legs that were slightly spread on the blanket below them. The elder placed his hands on the brunette's shoulders, quite literally keeping him grounded. Jeongguk's monologue dragged out into silence, glazed eyes suddenly becoming laser focused on the man above him. Something fond shun in those confused eyes, as he stared at his world - Yoongi.

"With the kindest of intentions," Yoongi bent down, dangerously close to his lips, "Shut," He moved even closer, lips slightly brushing against each other, "The fuck," His rough hands moved up from Jeongguk's sides, to his cheeks, as he angled his head, ready for an actual kiss. "Up." He whispered, finally pushing his lips down on Jeongguk's.

The man below him sighed, hands moving from the blanket, to bunch up Yoongi's light shirt. He went pliant under his boyfriend's lips, letting his thoughts come to a standstill. The blond's lips were still soft, even after months and months of being graced by them nearly everyday. Every kiss still felt like another ounce of heaven being given to Jeongguk for free, even if he felt that he was undeserving of such a gift.

Jeongguk moved his lips, slowly, in time with the pace that Yoongi set them. His heart was slowly picking up pace, as Yoongi applied a bit more pressure to the kiss, tongue lightly brushing over the other’s - not exactly asking for entrance, just feeling the taste, and texture of the youngers’s slightly chapped lips.

After a few minutes of slow, deliberate kissing, Jeongguk pushed away and pecked Yoongi's lips one final time as a sign for air, which the other provided reluctantly. Jeongguk sighed dreamily under him, moving his hands into the blond locks, pulling slightly. Yoongi blissfully shut eyes, biting slightly on his bottom lip.

"This isn't because you aren't enjoying my analogy between life and space?" Jeongguk mumbled against Yoongi's lips, lines of laughter clear around his eyes.

"Oh, of course not." Yoongi shamelessly responded, leaning down to peck the other's lips one last time. Then, without warning, he plopped down on top of Jeongguk, both letting out a grunt - Yoongi in relaxation, and Jeongguk in pain.

Yoongi nestled himself into the crook of Jeongguk's neck, lightly pecking it every now and then. They (finally) laid in silence, breathing steadily, listening to each other's heartbeat.

"Shame that we couldn't go to the Han River." Jeongguk expressed with a pout, letting his hands rest on top of Yoongi's ass. Yoongi simply hummed in agreement, not bothered to speak anymore. The younger realised what was happening, so he slapped Yoongi's butt, adding:

"I think you want to hear more of my space stories, right here right now, hyungie." Jeongguk giggled silently, when he felt Yoongi shift under him.

"Bold of you to assume so." Yoongi groaned, displeasure clear in his voice.

"Okay, but I think I could educate you on some things." Jeongguk countered, mocking the elder.

"When I'm not in the same room as Joon-ah, it implies that I would like to keep it that way." Yoongi pressed an apologetic kiss to Jeongguk's neck, before finally settling in the crook of it.

"What are you trying to say?" Jeongguk queried, clearly confused.

Silence.

"Yoongi?" Jeongguk called out into the night air, wind taking his voice away with it into nothing. The elder didn't reply.

"Baby?" He tried one last time. He was met with more silence.

Jeongguk raised his head to the left, trying to take a peek at Yoongi, who seemed to take the opportunity for a quick nap real fast when the younger mentioned another space talk. Jeongguk sighed one last time, before shutting his own eyes, pulling his tiny hyung closer to his chest.
