Work Text:
Shouto sat through their morning classes with growing worry in the pit of his stomach. Before leaving the dorms that morning, his boyfriend sent him a text that he didn’t feel well, so Shouto should leave without him and he’d follow him. Needless to say, it didn’t happen. By the time lunch break rolled in, he was such a ball of nerves even his best friend caught on it.
”Shouto-san, what’s the matter?” Momo asked, walking up to his desk. Shouto looked up at her with an idea rooting itself in his head.
”I’ve to skip afternoon classes,” he said and Momo’s eyes widened a bit. ”Please, cover for me, Momo!”
”Is it because of Midoriya’s absence?” The girl asked and Shout was amazed once again how observant the other was. He didn’t answer, though only nodded. The girl smiled at him kindly with determination in her eyes. ”I’ll do what I can!”
”Thank you so much, Momo,” he thanked her as he stood up. He squeezed her hand and smile back at her. ”I’ll treat you some soba,” he promised then left the classroom.
He reached the entrance of the school in record time. Before he could leave, however, he was stopped by a gruff voice, which made his breath caught in his throat.
”And where are you going?” His homeroom teacher asked and as Shouto turned around, he saw him standing a few feet away from him with crossed arms. ”Classes aren’t over yet.”
”I-” Shouto started, but Aizawa interrupted him with a sigh.
He sank his hand in his pocket and fished out a box. He threw it to Shouto who caught it. He lifted up to see it better and his eyes widened when he saw what it was – a box of antifebrile.
”Take good care of him,” he said and Shouto saw the shadow of a smile in the corner of his mouth.
Shout reached Midoriya’s door in less than 12 minutes. He didn’t bother knocking, only pushed the door open and stepped in the room. The air in the room was so hot it made Shouto frown with worry. He walked to the bed, then knelt down.
”Izuku?” He whispered and the lump on the bed shifted. Izuku blinked his eyes open, looking at his boyfriend dumbfounded.
”Shouto-kun?” He asked, then his eyes widened. ”Why are you here? Classes are-”
”-not over yet,” Shouto finished with a small smile. He pushed Izuku’s sweaty bangs out of his forehead, then touched it with the back of his hand. ”You’re burning up,” he commented, his frown deepening.
”I-It’s not that bad,” Izuku tried to reassure him, but burst out into a coughing fit.
Shouto bit into his lip, contemplating how he can help his boyfriend. Suddenly, an idea came in his mind. He reached his right hand out, put it on the other’s forehead and activated his quirk. The effect was immediate. Izuku closed his eyes in bliss and sighed. Shouto felt his cheeks heating up. They hadn’t been together for that long, but he knew he’d never get used to Izuku’s cuteness level.
