Hisashi Shigaraki or more known underground as All for One will always be seen looking at the Japan's registry searching for a specific name and will everyday be sad to know none of the newborn babies have the name he was searching for.
It's been roughly 200 years already since he lost his beloved Izuku. When he met a person with a quirk that can make a dying person be reincarnated later in life, he immediately seek her help and acquired a longevity quirk along the way to be able to meet his Izuku again. She said the reincarnated person will have the same name, personalities and appearance of his beloved.
But he was starting to lose hope. So many years have passed and he still can't find a newborn with the name Izuku. He was already starting to think that maybe the woman back then was only bluffing and fooling him.
All of his thinking came to a halt when Kurogiri stumbled to his room with heavy breaths. Now that was unusual.
"What was it, Kurogiri? I hoped you have some good news with the way you disrupted my peaceful thinking."
"I'm sorry, Sensei. I just really needed to say this report personally as this was a classified one."
A moment of silence and if All for One was getting nervous he would not admit it.
"We found him, Sensei! We found Izuku!"
"What? W-were you sure?" Fuck it, did he just stutter?
"Yes, Sensei. We found a newborn baby in the city of Musutafu with the name Izuku Midoriya having the exact features you described him to be. Dr. Tsubasa relayed the information to us and we personally confirmed he was the one you were looking for. Do-Do you want to see him Sensei?"
All for One can't speak. He was so speechless he can't help but to cry and he fell down on his knees.
"Sensei!"
"No, I'm okay. I-I'm just overwhelmed. Okay I'll go. Please lead the way Kurogiri."
"Yes, Sensei. This way please."
Kurogiri made a portal and All for One went inside to finally meet his beloved once again. He knew the consequences of this meeting once Izuku finally saw him. All of the memories of his past life will be known to him and he will recognize All for One. It was one of the conditions of the woman's quirk back then, the reincarnated person needed to see All for One to be able to regain his past life's memories. But considering Izuku's still a baby, it will take time for him to fully understand what those memories were. Maybe when he's a bit older.
Once they arrived at the nursery, where Izuku was staying along with the other babies, All for One immediately went inside to finally meet his beloved while Kurogiri stayed outside to be a look out.
He then saw a basin having a board clipped on it with a name "Izuku Midoriya". He walked towards the said basin and then he saw him.
The baby has green tufts of curly hair already growing on his head and cute small button nose. He can already identify his trademark diamond shaped freckles on both cheeks. He can't help but to chuckle. He gently carried the baby on his arms and caressed his chubby cheeks. And when the baby finally opened his eyes, All for One can't help but to cry. Two beautiful emeralds were staring at him. Observing him. Recognizing him.
"Oh, Izuku. My beloved Izuku. I have been waiting for you for so long."
All for One put his face near the baby and silently cried on him. All of his lonely years just patiently waiting for Izuku to be born was all worth it. He was surprised to feel a pat of small hands from Izuku. He knew babies tended to do that but the action was still endearing to him as Izuku was giggling on him.
"I needed to leave now Izuku. But don't worry as I will always visit you and foresee your everyday life. I hope you don't mind me being a bit protective of you. Well maybe a bit creepy coming from an old man but we both only know that. Goodbye my beloved Izuku. I am looking forward to our next meeting."
All for One kissed Izuku's forehead with a promise of return. He gently put the baby down on his basin.
"Get back to sleep my Izuku. We will meet again, I promised." He put his big hand on top of Izuku's eyes and made the baby sleep.
He said his final goodbye with a small caress and smile.
"Let's go Kurogiri. Let's return now."
"Yes, Sensei."
When they finally returned to the base, Kurogiri asked something out of curiosity.
"Sensei, I thought you will bring the baby home with us."
"No, I wanted him to live a normal life. I did not want him to get tainted by our way of living. I hoped you knew that society was not kind to us opposing the government, right? I want Izuku to be able to choose his own path in life and not just because he felt that he needed to be with me. I will entrust you the duty to also protect him Kurogiri. Izuku meant the world to me."
"I will Sensei. I'll protect him with my life."
"Good. Thank you Kurogiri. You may go."
"Yes, Sensei."
As Kurogiri left, All for One can finally sleep with a happy feeling. It has been years since he last felt genuinely happy and only Izuku made him feel how blessed he was for being alive.
