Now I Understand

Summary:

It starts off with Sasara passing out drunk at Rosho's. Rosho and Rei put Sasara on the couch to sleep while Rosho takes home Rei. All the while, Rosho is concerned about Sasara's state at home. He hates leaving him like this. When he comes home, Sasara is alright. It is then which he reflects on his feelings towards Sasara. The next morning, they eventually get into a deep talk about their past and are able to understand each other further because of it. They bond and then kiss, the end everyone go home now :)

This is very wholesome and I love making cute wholesome stuff!

Notes:

Since we don't have a whole lot of content to go off of for Dotsuhon, I am headcanoning a few things. The first two DH vs BAT manga chapters have been translated on Tumblr (thank you slugtranslations :D), and the drama track provides some good content for them, but not as much as the first four divisions. This work will try and be as realistic to the characters as possible, but please comment on suggestions or critiques since I will be writing more stuff! Thanks and enjoy!

Work Text:

“How many times do I have to tell you, my house is NOT a bar!”

Rosho proceeded to yell at his two teammates, who were getting tipsy on the booze. This always frustrated him, they would always make such a mess in the house and HE would have to clean it up.

“Why do ya got this booze in the first place if you’re not gonna drink it!” Sasara laughed and slapped Rosho’s back, which made him jump. He was not the touchiest person, unluck Sasara, so he was quite startled and very ticklish. “It’s you that needs to lighten up, Mr. Uptight,” Sasara said as he stood up straight, impersonating his friend. Rosho rubbed his temples in a snarl.

“Don’t worry, we are just taking care of the easy part! You didn’t think you were gonna have this all to yourself hm?” Rei lifted his hat, so it revealed his eyes.
Rei reacts way better to the booze in comparison of crazytown over there. Rosho thought to himself while eyeing both teammates. A couple of drinks later, Sasara was now drunk, while Rei hiccuped and put his head down. Rosho was caught off guard by Sasara grabbing the tall lamp and pretending it was a mic.

“Okay okay!!! I’ve got a joke!” Rei sat up in anticipation while Rosho was hyper-fixated on Sasara. He was moving around an awful lot with a sway in his step. Yep, definitely drunk. “So, I ate a clock yesterday!! That was pretty time-consuming…” He waited for laughter but got a small chuckle and a groan instead. “C’mon that was a good one!” Sasara chuckled while wobbling a little. The cord from the lamp looks like it was wrapping around Sasara’s ankle. Rosho noticed this and tried calling out

“Sasara, don’t take a step further…” Sasara looked at him with a dumb look. “The lamp cord lemme move it.” Of course, Sasara looked down to notice the cord, but it did not look that bad to his drunk state. Rosho went to unwrap the cord below him when Sasara took one step. Rats. The cord caught under his foot and he lost his balance as he came tumbling down next to Rosho. “I TOLD YOU D- “Rosho quickly retracted his statement, he was more concerned if Sasara was okay, he wasn’t getting back up like he normally did after a skit.

He was out cold, but he still had a heartbeat, thank god. However, the lamp was broken and there was broken glass on the carpet. Rosho was furious and flailed his arms in frustration. UGH!

“Oh jeez, you probably need to take him home…” Rei looked down at the fallen Sasara. Rosho shook his head.

“He can sleep here, I don’t want him to wake up at his house hungover and alone. Who knows what will happen then? He’ll probably weep to me on the phone.”

“And you’d rather be THERE when he did the weepin’?” Rei glanced.

“Nevermind that.” Rei patted his back, standing up at last. He wasn’t as tipsy as Sasara got, so he walked fine.

“Do you mind taking me home?” Rei called out on his way out. Rosho sighed and pointed to Sasara on the floor. “You can lock him in the house as you take me, it will only be ten minutes to and from...” Rosho looked over nervously and scanned the room for broken glass.

“I don’t wanna leave him but… if I lock the house, he should be safe.” A little snort came from the incapacitated Sasara. He was asleep. “Would you like to help me lift him onto the couch? I don’t want to wake him.”

“He’s knocked out COLD. He ain’t wakin’ anytime soon.” Both men bent down to grab Sasara by his ends. Rei on the arms, and Rosho on the legs. They lifted his limp body onto the leather couch and the sleeping Sasara gave a little snort. Next, Rosho got a broom and tray and they both attempted to get all the glass off the floor. It wasn’t too much, but neither of them wanted to step in it with bare feet. Finally, once all the glass was off the floor, Rosho put the broom back. One look at Sasara sleeping on the couch made Rosho tense.

Now stay asleep until I get back okay, I won’t be gone long. Rosho made sure that his partner was in a comfortable position before considering it good to leave. His hands shook as he doubled checked Sasara for any broken glass. It would not be long, but the thought of him alone in this state made him very nervous.

“Don’t worry ‘bout ‘em, he’s fine, ya worrywart.” This made the teacher look back at his friend in dismay.

“I understand that, but” He looked back to the sleeping fellow, there was a little dribble coming from his left lip.

“Just lock the door, he’ll be fine.” Rosho clenched his fists, still anxious, but put on his shoes and keys to head out. “There we go. Do you mind if I take the leftover booze? It’s half full…” Rosho pushed him out the door, sarcastically chuckling.

Hahaha, you are hilarious. Rei shrugged and headed towards his car while adjusting his fedora.

“Y’know, you’ve done so well of lightening up since I first met ya.”

“It’s just my general concern, I am the same person who looks after a bunch of teens in a classroom. I am a high school teacher.” Rosho replied while opening the car door. His friend moved into the car. He shook his head, which Rosho responded “I’m serious!” Rei laughed, clearly teasing him. The car started and Rei got awfully comfortable in the backseat, not even putting on a seatbelt. Rosho didn’t like this but kept quiet as he wanted to get him home quickly.

His warm hands gripped onto the wheel while keeping his posture firm and focused. Streetlights flickered their colors, Red, stop, Green, GO. There was no hesitation in Rosho’s stopping and acceleration. Rei studied the teacher; something was a bit off. People in the city rushed across the street before the light turned green, scurrying at the thought of being awake after-hours. Rei compared Rosho to the people and chuckled to himself.

The car ride ended, and Rosho pulled up to Rei’s apartment.

“Thanks, ol’ friend! I owe you one.” He patted his shoulder from the backseat.

“Okay, then in that case.” Rei stopped his pursuit out of the car. “Please wear a seatbelt next time.”

“Yeah, I already know that, smartass.” He messed with the black hair under his hat. “Maybe Sasara is right, you’re very uptight. Maybe you should relax a little, yeah?” Although this might have been Rei on the booze a little, Rosho was taken aback. He fidgeted with the seatbelt before getting out of the car with Rei beside him. Sputtering, Rosho found his words.

“I AM-” He gripped his hands into fists, staring bewilderingly at the man. Rei shot a look at him, Rosho continued “I’m trying, but it’s not easy when someone you deeply care about is ALONE! He might have no recollection of me, of you, of the booze, ANYTHING” His breaths turned short and scattered, his eyes darted up and down Rei. “I CAN’T LOSE HIM AGAIN!” Silence. Car horns played quietly in the city. Tears built up from Rosho’s eyes. He regained control of himself, but his hands still shook beside him. Rei continued to stare at his friend with a dazed look.

Both men then separated, Rei unable to speak, either for being too tired or too buzzed. Didn’t matter, Rosho backed into his vehicle again. Looking down at the wheel, he sat there for a solid ten seconds. By the time he looked back up, Rei was in his home.

My overthinking pushed him away, didn’t it? He stared back down at his hands, which stopped shaking, and a tear fell from his face. He quickly wiped it off and started his car. The drive home felt different now, like a blur. Maybe from tears, or from time.

His mother would always say there was no time for tears, and Dad says men shouldn’t cry. Although Rosho felt these words negatively impacted people like him, he couldn’t help but refer back to them from time to time. Especially when he’s alone in his car at night. He was so entranced by his thoughts that he almost didn’t catch his arrival home. The breaks screeched as he found his house again. Shaking everything off from the evening, Rosho quickly got out of his vehicle, fumbled with his keys, and checked the door.

Locked, what a relief.

He slowly opened the door, he snuck in, not wanting to awaken Sasara.

“Still out cold?” Rosho whisper as he fell to the floor in relief. He’s okay, he’s okay. Maybe Rei-san was right after all? Although his friend was safe, he double-checked that everything was the same as Rei and Rosho left it. The lamp was moved, check, Sasara on the couch, check, booze still out, unfortunately, check. Everything was normal, for now.

A small amount of moonlight, along with the streetlamps outside, made it possible for Rosho to see. He saw the room, the lamp, and… Sasara. Moving so carefully, he scooched closer to his sleepy partner. He was peaceful, with a calm face, like a puppy.

He’s almost… endearing? Rosho couldn’t help but sit down on the floor and observe him for a couple of seconds more, parting Sasara’s bangs a little to see his eyes and forehead. Dear God- I hope this isn’t creepy. Rosho shook his head and slowly stood up. Sasara gave a little murmur, which made Rosho turn back. He’s still asleep.

It was then that Rosho found himself smiling, he couldn’t help it!

“You’re so damn cute sometimes, bastard.” He whispered, going pink. Quickly, Rosho turned around and got to his room. “What am I thinking? Am I seriously gushing over this clown?” He facepalmed, sinking to the floor with his back against the door. The thought of Sasara goofing around him, providing him so much happiness invaded his conscience. He covered his face recalling his goofy skits and playful banter. His heart began racing. Oh, BE STILL WILL YOU?  Rosho’s inner monologue shouted. He slid up again, his mind full, and peaked out the door. Sasara still laid there quietly, how adorable. Rosho gripped the cloth of his shirt over his heart, which was still beating hard. Deep in a stare, Rosho’s thoughts spoke again. If I ever told Sasara how you really felt, I might scare him. But at the same time, the thought of holding him tight, so close to my heart. He would hear my heartbeat, beating a song just for- “OH HELL” He closed the door.

SLAM! A bit too much force went into that door. Fortunately, it wasn’t enough to wake Sasara, as he continued sleeping quietly. Rosho looked over at his digital clock, 2:39 am, it reads.

“I might want to get to bed. This night has me exhausted.” Almost immediately after that, he started to take off his clothes. Eventually stripping to his grey boxers, he pulled out some pajama bottoms and an oversized top. It didn’t matter what he wore to bed, as long as it was comfortable. He didn’t even think about the fact that his teeth weren’t getting brushed tonight. Rosho was far too tired and he didn’t want to go out and bother Sasara again. He slid under the covers. As much as he did not want to admit it, to himself, he knew. He was in love with Sasara. Being by himself in the darkness of his room gave him time to reflect on his feelings. His inner monologue played once again:

Perhaps I have had these feelings for a while now. Or… maybe I felt something at that restaurant when we had our first comedy skit. Or… maybe was it when he saved my life from climbing to the top of that tower? I cannot put my finger on it, but these feelings have resurfaced. I don’t have much experience with dating people. I do not want Sasara to feel like I’m forcing him into a relationship with me. At the same time, however, Sasara and I have had a stronger bond since we got back together. Our relationship has always been very happy, and I like that very much. He always calls me, wanting to hang out. That clown makes me feel like I’m on top of the world; so of course, I say yes, but it’s hard to really show him how ecstatic I am. I’m not good with emotions, and maybe I should… Rosho shifted in the sheets …let things happen. I love him, I really do. He keeps me young with his childlike energy, and makes me happy, as much as we banter sometimes. It’s all in good fun, and I never want to hurt him. EVER. Ugh, my thoughts are all over the place, it is embarrassing. Goodnight. He shut his eyes, and drifted off to sleep, his thoughts still wandering about Sasara.

The time is now 11:45 am. The sun is well overhead, and Rosho drowsily awoke. He tends to sleep in on weekends like this one, but he hasn’t slept in THIS late for a while. Maybe he was just super tired. As he started to drift back again, he suddenly remembers Sasara and shot open his eyes. Quickly retrieving his glasses, he opened the door and looked on the couch. He was still out, or he couldn’t tell. Rosho decided to brush his teeth and at least look presentable. He planned to chill in his pajamas and grade homework, but he wasn’t upset at the fact Sasara was there. He would let him sleep and maybe make breakfast.

Toast and eggs sound good, he thought. He brushed his teeth and fixed his hair with a little sink water. He slicked it back into its usual fashion, not too shabby.
Heading out of the bathroom, he glanced over to the couch, now seeing Sasara turn a little.

“S-Sasara?” Rosho whispered. A little groan came from the man on the couch. “A-Are you awake yet?” Sasara’s head tilted upwards and his arm reached for his head.

“Wh-“ Sasara began to speak before flinching at the pain “Ow- My head…” A headache, Rosho expected this and headed towards the cabinet for some pain relief. Sasara continued to make out little words and sputters before Rosho got back to him with some water and pills.

“Take these, Sasara.” Sasara rolled his head in Rosho’s direction, his hair was ragged. “Just lay here, okay?” Rosho spoke in a quiet tone, not wanting to upset his partner. “You got drunk again last night.”

“I can… feel that. Ow. Haha.” Sasara croaked. He was very dazed still but refused to go back to sleep, so Rosho began to crack some eggs and slice some bread.
“Would you like any breakfast?”

“No, I’m not hungry.”

“Are…” Rosho cleared his throat “…Are you sure?” Sasara took the pain meds and took a few sips of water.

“I’m okay, really.” He perked up a little and smiled at Rosho. Silence fell between the two as Rosho prepared breakfast. He made extra in case Sasara grew hungry. Rosho finished rather quickly and sprinkled some salt and pepper onto the eggs. He carried his plate, along with a little one for Sasara that contained a little slice of toast. In reaction, Sasara sat up, but the jolt quickly got to his head and he squeaked in pain.

“Hey. Take it easy!” Rosho exclaimed, moving quicker towards Sasara.

“No no, it’s fine, this happens when I get hungover.” Sasara shifted his weight to his back “Although, it’s been a while, I don’t remember the last time I got that drunk.”

“Do you feel sick? You should probably stay here a while if you are.” Rosho stood over Sasara.

“Nah, it’s not that bad, I don’t need to drink a ton of alcohol to get drunk, not like Rei.” Rosho sat down in the chair next to him. “Y’know, Rosho, you don’t have to do this all for me, you don’t have to worry about little old me!”

“But I can’t help it. I overthink everything, and I don’t want you to be alone and suffering, so.” Sasara smiled and sighed.

“Thanks for caring” Sasara replied. “As much as I annoy ya, it’s good to know that you’re back into my life again. You’re real dependable!” Rosho adjusted his glasses and went pink. A silence arose once again between the two of them, as Sasara fiddled his feet together and pondered at Rosho. The teacher finished his soft eggs, which were just the right amount of salty and savory. He wasn’t the best chef in the world, but he got by with what he could make himself. He placed the plate with toast to the desk by Sasara’s head. A couple of minutes of eating in silence went by before Rosho decided to speak again.

“I should probably put the booze back in the cabinet, it’s made a mess in the kitchen.” Sasara looked up.

“Did you drink at all last night? Just curious.” Rosho shook his head. Sasara didn’t know him as a drinker, but he just wanted to check. The booze lay scattered about the kitchen, but not too much had to be done, just rinsing out the glasses and putting the liquor back in the cabinets. As the kitchen began to look orderly again, Sasara spoke up again. “If you have all that booze, how come you don’t drink it?” Rosho stopped putting booze away and slowly turned towards Sasara.
“Wh-why are you asking a question like that?”

“I mean, you don’t have to spend money on something you don’t use!”

“You think… I never used it?” Rosho sternly replied. Sasara was a little shocked at this and quietly stated.

“Did you drink, Rosho?” Beat. The teacher slowly headed over to Sasara.

“Honestly” He sat down in that same chair as before “Yes, I used to drink. What did you think I did when I was all alone and my life eventually started to become repetitive?” Sasara sat there, not expecting that answer. Beat.

“Rosho… are you alright?” This was unusual for Sasara, he wasn’t joking or anything. He was willing to listen to whatever Rosho had to say. “If there’s anything you need to talk to me about, I’m here for ya now! I…” Sasara adjusted himself on the couch. “I’m not a therapist or a smarty like you, but I can try and understand.”
“Sasara, I don’t want to come off as needy. It’s not that big of a deal, I’m not sure if you’d understand. Let us drop the subject.” Rosho began getting a little defensive. Taken aback, Sasara leaned away from his friend, then sighed.

“Okay, but please, I want you to talk to me about these things so… I don’t know…” Sasara scratched his head. “So, you don’t feel the need to hide anything.” Rosho was frustrated. He didn’t know how to deal with the emotions, should he tell Sasara? He didn’t want to burden him with information, especially past events, but they bothered him so. Standing up, Sasara felt the energy to get closer to Rosho. His headache became secondary.

I care too much about ya for you to hold anything in! Sasara let his inner voice run around. I came back into your life and I’m gonna stay in it, you don’t have to worry about me leaving, because I will never! I’m here to stay, and I wanna tell you that! Why can’t I tell you that? I goof around to get your attention and it brings me joy! Please, I wanna understand. Sasara put his hand on Rosho’s shoulder. Rosho’s eyes began to water again, and he tried to shake it off, but the thought of last night, and his conversation with Rei, it came back to him. The tears were hard to hold back, but he held them.

“Do you want to know? Do you want to know what I did some nights, after completing assignments and questioning my own path in life?” Sasara ushered him to the couch, so now they could sit side by side. With a smile, Sasara leaned towards his friend and put his arm on his shoulder, which put Rosho at ease. “When I left you, I… didn’t quite know what to say at the time. I felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound to contact you again. It wasn’t that I didn’t like you, I actually felt the opposite, but I wanted you to become successful without me burdening you.” Sasara gave a little gasp.

“But Rosho, you never burdened me!”

“I KNOW.” Rosho raised his voice but quickly calmed down seeing Sasara raise his shoulders. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, it’s something you’ve been troubled with, I understand. Keep going.” Rosho took a deep breath.

“Then, I went back to studying to become a teacher, after having a long talk with my parents. They wanted me to focus on my education. So, I did... Was it the right choice? I thought maybe it was. At the time, it took my mind off things. Four years later, I got my bachelor's and began a master's. It was then that I saw… Mad Comic Dialogue.” Sasara dropped his arm and sighed. “I saw you up in the papers, with someone new, and the memories of us came crawling back. Not knowing what to feel about it…” He gripped his hands “…I was, admittedly, a little jealous.” Sasara chuckled. Rosho was surprised that he chuckled and replied, “I’m serious!” Sasara leaned back.

“You were jealous of Samatoki and me?”

“A LITTLE. I-“Rosho tried to compose himself, but he couldn’t “I was jealous that you found someone else, and… during that time I felt replaced.” Sasara looked upon Rosho worriedly. “Not now, because I know he was a well-respected guy, and I hold no grudge against him. But going back to think about it, I… I started to miss you more.” Rosho’s hands started to shake. “I lived alone, you know… and then I was reminded of what I didn’t have anymore.” Tears built up. “A partner.” Sasara couldn’t speak, he didn’t know that he thought of him so much during that time. Rosho’s intensity started to build. “And now I feel like such a screw-up, e-even last night I snapped at Rei after he told me to calm down! He said that I was so uptight last night, and it was not such a big deal if I left you here. BULLSHIT." Sasara grew more and more concerned with every word Rosho spoke. "Why was I so uptight? DO YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW?” Hyperventilating, Rosho finished “IT’S BECAUSE I CAN’T LEAVE YOU ALONE AGAIN!” Beat.

“Rosho…” It was the only word Sasara could speak.

“N-not…a-a-again!” It was at this point that Rosho broke down, the tears ran down his cheeks.

“Hey hey…” Sasara ran his arm up and down his back. “I’m here, you’re not alone anymore hey…”

“I… I know, but the thought of… and I-I drank through it all instead of saying something... and then with Rei last night… It’s complicated.” He sniffled. Sasara nodded. Sasara let Rosho let everything out, he knew it was something he had to do. It has been bothering him for so long, so all Sasara did was stroke his partner’s back, taking deep breaths.

I didn’t know all of this. Sasara thought. This must have been tough for him to say to me, but I want him to know that he can always talk about this with me, he’s so caring… Even when he’s at his worst.

When Rosho calmed down, he looked up at Sasara, who never broke his gaze off him. Sasara gave a little smile and Rosho couldn’t help but smile back.

“Thank you, I needed that.”

“Not a problem! I feel like I understand you better now. Thanks for telling me!” Sasara embraced him but quickly retracted. “Oop- Uh, would it be okay if I?”
“Go right ahead.” Rosho rubbed his eyes. “Please.” Sasara embraced him again, with a little grip. They held onto each other for a while, and Sasara nuzzled his head into Rosho’s shoulder, this made Rosho hold him tighter. It felt so right, just the two of them. When they released, Sasara spoke up.

“I know how you feel.” His voice was softer.

“You do?” Rosho pondered at his partner.

“Yes, I get what it’s like to hold something like that in. It’s tough to get those words out sometimes. When you arrived on that doorstep on that day eight years ago, I wanted to say something… anything. However,” Sasara rocked from side to side. “I didn’t. Now I’m not so sure why. I let you go because I didn’t know what else to say, but now…” As Sasara turned to face him, Rosho saw tears forming in Sasara’s eyes, which made Rosho turn to face him. “…I get that there is no turning back but…” Suddenly, Sasara put his head into Rosho’s chest. “I wanna let you know that I cared about you then! I wanted you to succeed, with or without me!!” His head went back up. “I promise, and you have to promise too, that if something is bothering us in any way, we have to let each other know! Say something about it, anything! Even if it’s a nudge and a head shake, whatever you need to do!” A smile formed through a tear. “Promise?” Rosho proceeded to wipe it from his face.

“I promise!” Rosho stated passionately. They looked at each other before looking away and sat in their sweet silence once again. Breaking the silence, Rosho put his hand on Sasara’s shoulder. “It’s great to know that you are on the same page, you’re… really amazing that way.” To this, Sasara couldn’t help but hug him again.

“You’re so sweet, Rosho, don’t forget that.”

“I won’t.” The hug was long, lasting for about thirty seconds before Sasara started giggling in his arms. “Hey, what’s so funny?”

“You wanna hear a funny story? I just remembered it!”

“What? I mean, of course! If you want to…” Sasara nodded and pushed some hair behind his ear.

“So, and this is a funny one,” Sasara started to smile just thinking about it.

Damn, he has such an adorable little smile. And his laugh, what a little stud. A small smile formed on Rosho’s face.

“When I first met Samatoki, I thought he was you from behind!” Rosho shook his head and chuckled.

“What? But he looked nothing like me!”

“Oho~ But he did! You see he had his hair slicked back like you do now!” Sasara patted his head, and Rosho went red, making Sasara laugh harder. “I thought you bleached your hair Rosho! But when I tapped his back and he turned around… I thought I was gonna die or something!”

“Wow, I guess we looked similar after all… did he do anything to you?”

“Nah. He was chill about it, but he was a bit annoyed by my jokes n’ shit.” Sasara shrugged “I guess I was just too goofy for the tough guy, and oh boy was he TOUGH.” Sasara made a growling sound. “I mean, he was actually a respectable guy, but oh man did he try and hide it!” Rosho laughed. He didn’t know Samatoki, as well as Sasara did, so this insight was fun to listen to.

“I’m glad he treated you well.” Sasara changed his tone.

“Well… for a long time, yes, but…” Sasara calmed down. “When we parted ways, it was painful. I cannot tell you exactly because honestly, I don’t remember much from THAT day.” Sasara scratched his head, trying to remember.

“Weird, it was only two years ago wasn’t it?”

“Well yeah, all I remember was calling him and him being upset at me. I guess I did something the day before, but I can’t remember..." Sasara seemed slightly troubled by this but quickly recovered. "But when I really think about my relationship with Samatoki, I felt he was sort of a rebound.” Sasara turned the other way, a little embarrassed.

“No kidding?”

“Nope. And please don’t get me mistaken, if Samatoki and I ever cross paths, we could still be best friends, but partners?” Sasara shook his head. “He was great, but all those years got me thinking. I wasn’t looking for a guy like Samatoki.” Sasara turned to face Rosho. “When I think about the fact I mistook Samatoki for you, it solidified that I was looking for you all along.”

“M-me? But I couldn’t be THAT important, could I?” Sasara scoffed.

“How could you say that when you have as much charm as a bowl-a Lucky Charms?”

“Me? Charming?” Rosho looked at his partner in disbelief. “I can’t even go on stage without studdering and screwing up!”

“You challenged me with your comebacks and techniques! Especially recently with the formation of Dotsuitare Honpo! And your stage fright? Hah! When we work as a team, you are as cool as a cucumber and float like a butterfly!” Sasara looked down to twiddle with his fingers, a blush forming “Your wit is your best quality, y’know.” It was strange, Rosho felt as though Sasara never flattered him this way before. Flustered, Rosho’s eyes darted around the room. The clock read 1:20 pm, Sasara’s face was bright red now.

Oh, you have such a cute face.

“You have such a cute face,” Rosho repeated his thoughts out loud, loud enough for Sasara to hear. Realizing this Rosho got more nervous and fiddled with his glasses.

“Ahhh~ Me? Cute? Your charm strikes again, Wisdom!” Sasara lightly punched Rosho on the arm.

“I mean, every time I look at you, I get warm and fuzzy inside. You can make a stern-faced brute smile with a crack of your jokes!” Since there is no going back from that so-called flirt, I might as well keep going. “You make me so damn happy to be around you.” Sasara was beaming from ear to ear. “See, your smile is making me feel some kind of way. You bastard, how do you do it?” Sasara giggles.

“Oh, you~” Sasara smiled. They share a laugh, looking into each other’s eyes dreamily. They are entranced in each other’s gaze, no words, only a short moment. A moment for them to capture this memory in time, a moment so precious, one that consumes both. Out of the corner of his eye, Rosho sees the piece of toast he left out for his partner a couple of hours ago. It’s probably not good to eat by now.

“Are you hungry, or feel well enough to eat?” Rosho’s hands sat in his lap, but they shifted towards Sasara’s, whose hands reside on his knees. Still entranced, Sasara was slow to reply.

“Ah! Yeah! I’m starving now that I think about it!” By this time, Rosho’s hands brushed Sasara’s, who quickly noticed and blushed. It was at this moment that Sasara felt so much passion, his chest filled with a raging fire. He didn’t know what to do with it.

Should I hug him? Kiss him? Maybe both? At the same time, he hasn’t outwardly said he has feelings. Should I wait? Oh, what the hell I can’t hold it in anymore! At that moment, Sasara practically leaped into Rosho’s arms. He gave exasperated breaths after toppling him and Rosho onto the floor. Rosho gasped

“SASARA!”

“I- I LOVE YOU ROSHO!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!” Sasara yelled so loud, that Rosho’s neighbors probably heard it too. Sasara, flustered, buried his head into Rosho’s shoulder, face completely ablaze. There was a small pause here, Rosho didn’t know how to take it, but the passion felt by Sasara was so contagious, it made his feelings rise.

“I love you too, Sasara, you’re fucking incredible.” He pulled in his partner and kissed him on the mouth. Sasara gladly returned it, while Rosho placed a hand on his cheek. The kiss was warm, each second, they grew calmer, and the kiss became softer. After releasing, both were out of breath, but their passion didn’t go away. Rosho felt the need to say something, so he did.

“My heart is running a marathon down there- “He gasped breathlessly.

“You kiddin’? Mine just finished their marathon!” They both laughed. Sasara’s cackle clashed with Rosho’s toned down laughter.

“Hey, Sasara?”

“Hey what?” He leaned closer.

“Do you still want that toast?” Taken aback Sasara scoffed, kissing him again.

“Sure, but more importantly, I want you.”
