Notes:

I love love LOVE prompts where Person A falls ill and Person B takes care of them. This is my 3rd haha

Work Text:

Gyeo-ul took off her mask and her surgical gown. After her successful surgery as a leading surgeon, she had no more schedules for the rest of the day. She was ready to brag about her surgery today to Jeong-won.

With overflowing profound joy, she headed to one place: Jeong-won’s office.

Knock knock.

“Gyosoonim? May I come in?” She asked.

“Yes,” replied Jeong-won from inside the room. Gyeo-ul opened the door and entered the room.

Unlike the picture that she thought of with Jeong-won sitting on his chair on his computer, he was looking rather ill. Jeong-won was laying his head on his arms on the table with his eyes closed.

“Gyosoonim? Are… are you alright?” Gyeo-ul closed the door and proceeded to Jeong-won. She carefully placed her hand on his forehead.

Jeong-won slowly opened his eyes.

“Gyeo-ul?” he said with a weak voice.

“Yes, gyosoonim, I’m here. You’re burning up, what happened?” she asked.

“I am?”

“Yes,”

Jeong-won sighed. He slowly rose himself out of the table, followed by a grunt.

“I’m having a bad headache, I’m cold, and I’m so sleepy.” he said.

Gyeo-ul looked into his eyes. The eyes that were usually so warm and full of love were now full of exhaust and tiredness.

“Did you try taking meds?” She asked.

“Mmm.” Jeong-won made a sound, which Gyeo-ul interpreted as a ‘No’.

Gyeo-ul quickly scanned his room and found the couch.

“Gyosoonim, you should lie down on the couch instead. Can you try getting up?”

Jeong-won tiredly got up with a groan and dragged his exhausted body to the couch. He collapsed onto it like a heavy object falling onto the floor.

Gyeo-ul turned off the air conditioner. She then sat on the space next to him, trying not to bother him. However, Jeong-won put his own head onto her lap.

Gyeo-ul was surprised, but she found him cute. He looked like a retriever who was lying down on its owner, hoping to be petted.

She could sense that Jeong-won was about to fall asleep. She tried to remain silent. She looked at his hair. His dark brown hair that seemed so lovely. Every part of Jeong-won seemed lovely and attractive to Gyeo-ul.

She ran her fingers through her boyfriend’s hair. It was smooth and relaxing. Then, she wondered if he thought it was disturbing. She halted her actions for a second.

“Don’t stop.” Jeong-won mumbled tiredly. Gyeo-ul surprisingly looked down at his head. “Gyeo-ul, your fingers running through my hair… it feels incredibly nice…” he kept mumbling. Gyeo-ul had to listen carefully in order to hear his mumbles. At this point, even his mumbles were cute.

She did not stop running her fingers through his hair. There was silence and she noticed that her boyfriend, her tired professor, was fast asleep.

She carefully put his head off her lap and onto the couch. She put a pillow under his head and then started boiling some water in the water boiler.

While the boiler was doing its job, she headed to the door. She took one look at Jeong-won, noticed he was still deep asleep, then went out the to the hospital café.

——-

“Gyeo-ul?” Jeong-won groaned as he tried to get up by himself from the couch.

“Gyosoonim, you’re awake.”

Gyeo-ul walked from the water boiler to Jeong-won. She handed him a mug full of burning water and a tea bag inside it.

“This is chamomile tea. I was told that this helps with fevers and colds, so I thought it would be good if you drink it.” she said, trying to hide her sheepishness. She cleared her throat. She sat down next to Jeong-won as he started drinking the chamomile tea.

Gyeo-ul got a handkerchief and started wiping Jeong-won’s sweat.

“Your fever’s gotten down now, that’s a relief.” she said.

“Gyeo-ul,” Jeong-won called. Gyeo-ul turned towards his face and smiled.

“Yes, professor?”

He cleared his throat.

“I love you.”

Gyeo-ul grinned.

“I love you too, more than you can imagine.”

Jeong-won stood up from the couch and gave his Gyeoul-ie a hug. Gyeo-ul was alarmed, but she quickly embraced him back.

She could smell the beautiful scent of him… the smell of the hospital, the scent of cute, little children.

“Gyeo-ul, I think all I needed was some of your love instead of my medications.” Jeong-won chuckled.

“Really? Are you feeling better now?” She asked.

“Yes, so much better.”

Gyeo-ul laughed. Her cute little Jeongwon-ie was back to his formal, bright self.

“If that’s the case, gyosoonim, call me whenever you’re not feeling well, and I’ll run to you. I’ll stay with you until you get better.”
