Forbidden Fruit 

 

Since you’re here within my reach

I could crush your red lips with my own

I could feel your spine pressed into my chest

Shielding a heart only a fool would resist

I could feel its drumming on my fingertips

And from your throat, I could catch your moan. 

 

And yet, I hunger for the taste of you

I hunger for another touch, for better times,

For life that is unchained and free.

I hunger for the light that never shines,

On me.

 

Embracing you, my love, in drapes of fire

I’ll give myself to you, in smoke and ash

I’m yours to break, to crush, to end

Or if you will -

I’m yours to mend.
