“WHERE IS SHE?!” Deku bellowed at TimeBomb.
“Ha, you haven’t figured it out yet? You’re still naïve, young hero.”
Deku looked at the building, one minute, that’s all I have, and he took off.

He guessed right, she was on the top floor, passed out. He’d make sure to take out TimeBomb for this.
“Uravity! Uravity!” He shook her awake.
“Deku?” she answered weakly “quick, the victims, they’re on the lower floors-“
“It’s okay, I’m here. I need to get you to safety first.”
“No, they’re more important-“
“I’m not leaving you here.”
“No, I can help-“
He picked her up and jumped through the window to the back up below, letting her down with a police officer.

“Alright, that makes 37!” Deku called over to the police back up that arrived, dropping off 9 people at the same time.
Just then the building collapsed, plumes of dust and smoke came in waves, choking Deku.
“Sir are you okay?”
“I’m fine, thank goodness we got everyone out of there.” He coughed.
A police officer who was off to the side speaking with the tenants of the building stepped forward, bearing bad news.
“Deku, I-I’m so sorry, there were 38 people in the building.”
Deku’s whole world crashed around him, I missed one…I missed one…

“Deku, it happens to every hero eventually. You tried your best, that’s all we can do.”
“No, it’s not all we can do, I should have been able to do more, I should be stronger than this, I-“
“Deku, you have to stop beating yourself up.”

“TimeBomb got away sir.” The police officer informed Deku.
“We have to find her! He will pay for this. Did she leave anything behind? Any evidence at all?”
“No, but she did send a note in this morning, it’s addressed to you.”

Love is a weakness, it’s no surprise your feelings for Uravity have blinded you. You’ll never measure up to All Might, he sacrificed everything, but you are too selfish. The road to number one hero is lonely, you’ll never make it through if you have others beside you, they’ll only be used against you. You may have been able to save her this time, but next time you won’t be so lucky.

“Y-you can’t be serious, Izuku?”
“I’m sorry Ochaco, but I-I can’t be with you.”
“Is this because of the civilian? It’s tragic but it happens Izuku, it happens to every hero. We can’t always save everyone.”
“Ochaco, don’t-“
“Izuku, please, talk to me, we can fix this, I-“
“Ochaco, I’m sorry.”
And he left, the image of her tear stained face never leaving his mind.

Midoriya sat up from bed. It’s been 2 years and I’m still having those dreams. He got up from bed to get some water, his throat felt so dry, as if the smoke and dust wasn’t just part of his dreams, part of his memories.
