The beach was his favorite place. He enjoyed watching all the people tan and burn from his rays, but his favorite thing about the beach…
Were the tides.
Hizashi sat in the clear blue sky, kicking his feet playfully, looking down upon the ocean. A toothy grin on his tanned face, his golden hair cascading around him. He looked across the sky to the moon.
Aizawa floated in a reclined position, his dark hair, sprinkled with stars, floated around him, his sheer little cape flowing like water.
Hizashi’s smile widened, his rays intensifying. Aizawa twitched and his eyes opened slowly. He glanced over towards the sun. Hizashi’s arm shot up and waved at him, his orange and gold cloak blowing in the breeze.
Aizawa blushed and looked away, the tide pulled in more than usual.
Aizawa always got flustered when he was in his waxing phases.
Even after eons.
Hizashi loved these phases. He always tried to shine as bright as he could for Aizawa. While he could never see the results of his efforts, he knows that when Aizawa’s full, he’s more beautiful than ever.
He knew though it wasn’t the upcoming full moon that was making Aizawa shy away more than usual though.
No.
It was something else.
Something Hizashi has been waiting for for quite some time now.
A solar eclipse.
Aizawa, still flushed, gave Hizashi a little wave.
Hizashi beamed and Aizawa covered his face with his hands.

Hizashi was excited as they were drifting closer and closer. Aizawa’s back was to him, with his knees to his chest. He tried not to shine too bright, but he couldn’t help it as they got closer and closer.
He got into a kneeling position and watched as the beauty of the moon grew clearer and clearer.
And finally…
They were together.
Aizawa turned his head, inches from his was the orange eyed, freckled, tan, face of the sun, smiling, like he always did.
Aizawa felt his face heat up, but then a warm hand grabbed his cold one. His knees fell away from his chest and he sat cross legged, he turned towards Hizashi.
His pale eyes taking in the face of the sun. He reached up with his free hand, and hooked the flowing golden hair behind an ear.
Hizashi reached up and took Aizawa’s other hand, his smile ever present.
They sat there, facing each other.
The warmth of the sun and the cold of the moon coming together.
It was just the two of them at this moment.
No clouds, no tides, no stars...well.
This was the only moment when they could share the sky as one, together.
And it wasn’t long enough.
Then they both felt it.
Their time coming to an end.
Hizashi’s gaze fell and his smile wavered ever so slightly, as his hands gripped Aizawa’s a little tighter.
Suddenly, cool lips were pressed against his.
Hizashi closed his eyes and took in the cold, Aizawa’s nightsky hair floated around them, a stark contrast to his gold.
Hizashi was sad when it was over, but what he saw after would be responsible for the upcoming heatwave.
Aizawa’s smile.
They began to drift apart, holding hands until the distance grew beyond their reach.
It would be sometime before they were together again, but as long as they shared the sky, Hizashi would make sure Aizawa could shine as bright as he could.
