Nico. The one person she trusts more than any other. More than Jason, more than Annabeth, more than her sister. More than herself, for sure. It's a trust that's mutual, and if he were her own flesh and blood, she couldn't hold him closer to her heart. There is something that connects them, deeper than she could have imagined years ago. Something that goes beyond brothers in arms, beyond friends. He doesn't make her heart beat the way Jason used to, but he makes her insides warm up like she always imagined Jason might one day. Jason, that ship has sailed long ago and it only hurts a little bit, but Nico… Nico is different.
Plus, the dogs like him.
He doesn't know where this thing between Jason and him will lead, he confesses. But he knows no matter what, she is his anchor, his harbour, and he can't imagine that ever changing.
