   Summary

   “And—,” Hizashi cuts off suddenly. In a few confident strides, he closes the gap between them and buries his face in the crook of Shouta’s neck. “Are you, uh… Are you sure that you should be heading out on patrol tonight, sunshine? I-I think you might be going into heat.” He touches a hand to Shouta’s forehead and, sure enough, he’s burning up.

   “No, I… No. It’s too early.” He doesn’t actually know if it’s too early, considering he’s only ever experienced one heat—but he knows the signs to look for, and this is definitely not it.

   “Okay. Okay.” Hizashi winces as Himei grabs onto his glasses and yanks—“If it’s not your heat, then I’d ask that you consider, just for a moment, the possibility that you might be sick. You’re burning up, sunshine. And I’d hate to think that something might happen to you because you went out there at less than your best.”
