Work Text:

Ayumu sat down at her table, smiling.

Izuku’s training was coming along nicely. His range of spells was slowly increasing, and Ayumu had a great nephew, hard working, determined, caring and courageous. He had a strong sense of justice, and couldn’t bear to see a person in trouble.

Ayumu may not like most heroes- Eraserhead was an exception, along with a few other underground heroes- but she was fully supportive of her nephew’s dreams.

Everything that had happened to Izuku had only fueled his flame- his emerald eyes, as bright as the sun’s glare, had shown that very clearly.

Ayumu had a gut feeling tomorrow would be bad, so she had kept her guard up, listening carefully for the telltale voice of Mother in her ears.

So, when she had felt something wrong during Izuku’s field trip she quickly shifted into a crow and flew to USJ. She circled above the building, feeling a leak.

But then there was another, and Ayumu knew something was wrong. Sneaking through a small gap she’d created with a carefully aimed radius solis Ayumu entered.

She saw Izuku battling it out with a walking leak and was suddenly glad she brought her robes.

She threw it on, becoming one half of The Cloaks, and said a quick invisibilia homo and stalked up to Izuku.

She saw her nephew flung and had a miniature heart attack.

She raced over to him, frowning.

“Izuku?! Get up!” Ayumu said in his ear. She pressed her fingers to his wrist and felt for a pulse.

…

Silence.

“No. Nononono- not you too!” Ayumu said, slightly panicking.

After her brother, Hisashi, disappeared, she hadn’t… dealt with loss well, per say.

She was about to cast a healing spell when a voice rang out clearly in her head.

Wait, my child.

Ayumu regretfully did so, but soon Izuku’s wounds healed.

He grabbed his conduit and smashed it into the ground, rupturing a leyline.

Ayumu felt the power of Mother stronger than it usually was, and knew Mother was with him. Ayumu grabbed Izuku wrist as he was standing up, letting her presence be known.

“I’ll help.”

“That thing- Nomu- is a walking leak. Magic and Quirks mixed together!” Izuku said, panting. He stood up, and began to fight. Ayumu healed him from the distance and continued healing Eraserhead after Izuku left.

“Good luck, Zu. Mother has a great child.” Aizawa overheard. He didn’t understand it, but was sure he would later.

“You’re aren’t human either, huh?” He heard the blue-man- Shigaraki ask.

Midoriya didn’t justify that with a response.

“Eraserhead.” A voice next to him spoke.

He looked over to see… Nothing. He felt an arm on his wrist and saw a figure appear holding it.

“Izuku can handle him. We need to get you out as soon as possible.”

Aizawa looked on in confusion. Who was this person? A villain? His mind snapped back to a few months ago, when The Cloaks had been at the scene of a villain fight.

“The Cloaks…” he muttered. He looked around for the other cloak, though he did not find the other member.

Ayumu helped Shouta away from the main area- most of the canon fodder villains had been taken out and Izuku only had to worry about the main villains.

Ayumu was worried about Izuku, but knew Mother was on his side- he’d be fine with her.

“sa injurias,” said The Cloak.

He was reminded of Midoriya’s Quirk, and felt the blood reaching back into his body, his bones correcting themselves, and his extreme dry eye fading. There was still some pain left near his eyes, but he quested not even the best of Quirks could fix that.

With the newfound clarity from the lack of concussion, he realized he needed to help the students.

Suddenly, UA’s Tank arrived, and Ayumu let go of Aizawa, heading to check up on her nephew.

He arrived to see Shigaraki heading through a portal and Ayumu thanked Mother, as Izuku was okay.

She had protected her nephew.

Izuku was left panting, and Ayumu decided to head to the other zones, letting Izuku know where she was going.

Izuku panted, seeing the heroes coming in.

He taken down that Nomu, and he was sure to have questions being asked about him when no one could leave a dent on the being.

He sighed, resting on the floor. His aunt was checking in on the other students, and Izuku’s decided to see how the students left at the entrance were.

He decided that he had used enough magic, and did the manual way of transportation. He stood up slowly, hoping that he wouldn’t injure himself, and saw his classmates huddled together at the entrance.

His aunt was there in her robe, a small smile on her face. She sat near Aizawa- who, now, was almost completely healed. His elbow was fine, however a small injured near his eye looked like it would scar. He would live and that was the important thing to Izuku.

He headed towards the group of his classmates, robe slightly damaged but holding up.

“Midoriya!” Yelled Kirishima. “That was so manly! You defeated that so easily, even when Aizawa-Sensei had trouble! How’d you do it man?”

“Ah, I- Uh-” Izuku thankfully didn’t have to wander that question as his aunt revealed herself, robe off, wearing a small dress that flowed easily, but also had shorts underneath it for mobility reasons. (Izuku had found out when she almost fell off a building when the ground shook)

She also had a leather messenger bag with a she/her pin on the strap. Her conduit matched the accents on the dress, as well as the accents on her pin. It was a nice outfit.

“I’ve been training him for several years,” she said. “Midoriya Ayumu, Izuku’s aunt- currently. Mother also helped him, probably more than me.”

“Well, you’re certainly doing something right, and this Mother as well.” Iida said, bowing. Ayumu did some quick check ups on the students to ensure they were fine. Most of them could be healed by Recovery Girl, so she let them be. It was all minor injuries, and she only healed one kid’s ankle, which had been fractured.

They quickly put together the similarity between their ‘Quirks’ and asked.

“Ah, yes. Izuku’s dad and I were siblings, and Izuku and I have the same Quirk, so when I found out, I offered to train him.”

Ayumu left shortly after, waving goodbye to her nephew and his class, as well as Eraserhead.

Yeah, they’d have some explaining to do, but that was fine.
