There were many places in Musutafu that gave off an uneasy atmosphere, but one of the most unsettling had to be the Greenyard.
Not only was it a graveyard where Pro-Heroes were buried upon death, but legend said that it was also the living place for a terrifying creature with an... Admittedly adorable name.
The Ghost Princess.
However, legend also said that this girl could do something outright miraculous: she could remove people's fears, allegedly creating courageous characters.
Itsuka Kendo wasn't one to believe in superstitions like that, but when just about everybody insisting that they were true, especially her best friend Neito Monoma, she decided to verify it herself.
Not that she expected to meet the girl, her legend was pure rubbish after all... She hoped.
"Greetings."
The redhead flinched and turned around, reflexively growing her hand to its biggest size and swatting at the voice.
However, not only did she realize that she was trying to smack an intangible being-who turned corporeal once Kendo shrank her down to its original size-but the being resembled a human-sized doll, wearing gothic clothing and sporting messy green hair, and a pair of large eyes with just as big, pitch black pupils.
"S-Sorry about that," Kendo said sheepishly. "It was a reflex-"
"It's okay, I'm used to it," the girl replied, waving her hand nomchalantly. "Anyhow, what brings you here?"
"Right, uh, I-I heard that there was a girl here who could help someone with their fears," Kendo stated. "W-Would you so happen to be that girl?"
"That's me indeed," the floating gal said before she curtsied. "Yurei Midoriya, at your service..."
"Itsuka Kendo."
"Kendo-san, then," Midoriya clasped her hands together. "You've come to get me to remove your fear, I presume?"
"Uh... Yeah, I guess," Kendo scratched the back of her head. "The U.A. entrance exam is coming very soon, and no matter how hard I try, I can't help but feel uneasy about it."
"That sounds more like concern, rather than fear."
"I know, but someway, somehow, I feel like I'm actually scared for what's gonna happen. And since Monoma-kun was scared too, but he met you-"
"Ah, you're friends with Monoma-kun! I met him, yes," Midoriya rolled her eyes. "He mentioned that exam too, said he was very scared of what would happen once it got rolling. I pitied him, so I removed his fear without condition."
"... Condition?"
"I don't do what I do for free, my friend. If you want me to take away your fear, I'll need you to do me a favor in return."
Then, the ghost girl's eyes glowed threateningly.
"And if you dare try to back out or trick me, well, let's just say you'll be lucky if I ONLY return your fear."
"Noted. So, can you do that for me?"
Midoriya turned back to normal nigh instantly. "Of course I can, but before I do anything, I have to give you a fair warning. Will you listen to me?"
Kendo paused, then nodded with a cautious stance.
"One of my many abilities is to grab a person's fears, and convert them into my own, ghostly servants. However, unlike what's said about me, I don't take away a person's ability to feel fear; what I take away is either their own personal fear, their phobia, or the concept of a particular event causing you to worry."
Kendo smiled. "The latter sounds like what I'm dealing with, so that's fine."
"So, you want me to remove your fear?" Midoriya tilted her head. "This might be your only chance to back out."
Kendo had made her decision.
"Remove my fear please."
Midoriya flashed a cheeky smile as she took off one of her opera gloves, revealing her arm gradually turned chalk white, before ending in a transluscent hand.
With nary a word, Midoriya floated closer to Kendo, then shoved her ethereal hand inside her body, the redhead flinching as the greenette promptly removed a small, orange sphere from her body.
With that done, Midoriya snapped her fingers, and the sphere transformed into a miniature ghost version of Kendo: possessing a generic Chibi body, with the head resembling a beady eyed version of the redhead.
"A-Amazing," Kendo checked her chest. "And the weight I had here is gone!"
"I've finished my part of the deal," Midoriya stated as she put her glove back on. "Now, it's time for you to pay me back."
"That's fair. So, what do you want from me?"
"Just a simple request, darling."
Midoriya grabbed Kendo's chin, and made her look directly into her eyes as she stated, plain and simply:
"Could you help me enter U.A?"
Yurei Midoriya! Quirk: Ghost Princess! To make a long story short, she can create artificial ghosts with a variety of purposes, fly, and become incorporeal! Also not a princess, despite the name!
