“Kir, c’mon. We’re supposed to be on patrol. Why are you so fucking slow?” Bakugou turned, waiting for Kirishima to catch up with him.
“Sorry, sorry. A lot of people want to take pictures, man. I don’t have the heart to turn them down. Especially the kids. They look way too cute in their little costumes.” Kirishima couldn’t help the grin that came to his face, and Bakugou sighed before striding off.
“You’re completely helpless, you know that, right?”
“That’s so mean, dude! I can do things!” Kirishima jogs to catch up to Bakugou again, who had to stop at the corner to wait for the stop light.
“I can’t believe we had to fucking patrol on Halloween. This is so fucking stupid.” Bakugou leans against the pole, crossing his arms over his chest.
“We’re almost done, Kat. Besides, it’s not like you would be doing anything, anyway. You’d probably be asleep in like an hour. Might as well pick two people who had no plans.”
“I wouldn’t have been asleep in an hour. Maybe two, but definitely not one.”
“Oh wow, Kat. Two whole hours? What’s the occasion for you to go to bed at...10:13 pm?” Kirishima puts his phone away after checking the time, laughing as Bakugou tries to kick him while still leaning against the pole.
“You’re such a fucking asshole, Kir.”
“Whoa, your costumes are amazing! Like seriously!” The voice came from a guy standing behind Bakugou. He was dressed in an almost spot on Deku costume, save for the shoes being too dark. He looked to be a little older than Bakugou and Kirishima, and had the height to show for it.
“Well of course it is. I fucking designed it myself.” Bakugou doesn’t bother to turn around, and so he doesn’t see the guy reach out and grab his arm, pulling him forward.
“You have to come to my party, man! You two would totally win first place at the costume party!” The man links his arm through Kirishima, effectively capturing both heroes and dragging them along with him.
“What the fuck are you doing? Let us go, you fucking extra!” Bakugou squirms in his grip, trying to escape, to no avail.
“That’s not going to work. My Quirk is Sticky Gum. I can attach anything to me for about ten minutes. Which means you guys are stuck with me.” The man cackles at his own joke, but he’s the only one laughing.
“We don’t even know your name.” Kirishima seemed a lot more docile than Bakugou, considering their present situation.
“Saito Mayayoshi. Though, everyone calls me Yoshi. What about you and the angry blonde?”
“I have a good fucking reason to be angry! You’re kidnapping us, you idiotic ass, half bit Deku!”
“Oh come on, I worked hard on this costume! Although it can’t compare to the time you spent on yours. It looks like the real thing. Even your hair and attitude match. You’re literally Dynamight.”
“I already fucking know that, idiot! That’s what I’m fucking saying!”
“Are you guys in method acting or something?”
“No, unfortunately, he’s always like this.”
“Shut the hell up, Kir!”
“Um, I think you meant to say Red Riot, Dynamight.” Kirishima winks at Bakugou as Yoshi drags them into a house a few blocks away from where they met.
“This is the party. Go up to the stage so you can get your picture taken. That’s how people will vote on your costume. Other than that, enjoy yourselves!” Yoshi detaches from them, waving them off to the stage.
“Finally, that fucking idiot is gone. We can go.”
“Wait, Kat!” Kirishima grabs Bakugou’s arm, stopping him from disappearing out the door.
“Don’t fucking tell me that you want to stay.”
“I mean, we’re off patrol in 2 minutes anyway. Plus, we would CRUSH this costume contest. Or are you scared? You don’t take pride in your costume, Bakugou?” Kirishima teases, knowing he hit all the right buttons.
“We’re only staying until they announce the fucking results. I’m tired.”
-------
After submitting themselves to the costume, Bakugou and Kirishima milled around the party for a while. They ended up getting separated, Kirishima getting sucked into the kitchen looking for food.
“Oh my god, your costume is incredible!” Kirishima turns to see a group of girls standing in the doorway, giggling and staring at him.
“Oh, uh thanks, I guess.” Kirishima rubs the back of his head, looking for another way out, but there was only one doorway.
“And your muscles are like, huge. Do you work out?” A few of the girls start rubbing on his chest and arms, making Kirishima shrink away from their touches.
“Um yeah I do. There’s a lot of you guys here. Kinda feeling outnumbered, haha.”
“Does that scare you?” Kirishima jumps as one of the girls whispers in his ear, making all the other girls laugh.
“Do you have a girlfriend, Mr. Red Riot?” One of the girls started rubbing a little too low for Kirishima’s liking, and he hardened unconsciously, cutting the girl’s finger.
“I’m so sorry! You startled me!” Kirishima reaches out to comfort her, but the other girls surround her, staring daggers at Kirishima.
“Fucking creep.”
“I can’t believe he cut you.”
“Let’s leave, guys.”
“Yeah, let’s.”
Kirishima let out a breath, putting his hands on the counter. He had absolutely no interest in any of those girls. In fact, he was only interested in one person.
“Oi. What the hell are you doing, Shitty Hair?” Bakugou bumped his shoulder into Kirishima’s back, leaning against the redhead.
“I just got mobbed by girls, man. It was horrible. They kept touching me.” Kirishima shivers at the memory.
“Oh wow, I thought you liked being touched, Mr. I have my entire chest out in my costume.” Bakugou reaches around Kirishima to rub a hand down his chest, laughing as Kirishima swats his hand away.
“Dude! We’re in public!”
“Oh, so you’re saying that if we weren’t, it’d be fine? Because there’s a few empty rooms upstairs…” Bakugou whispered in Kirishima’s ear, reveling in how quickly Kirishima’s cheeks heated up.
They were interrupted by a call echoing around the house stating that the winners for the costume contest were about to be announced. Kirishima pushes Bakugou off of him, then interlocks their hands and walks to the main room.
“In third place, Yoshi, with his Deku costume! If only his shoes were the right color!” The crowd laughs as Yoshi bounds onto stage, amidst cheers and whistles. He stands next to the announcer, letting him place a medal around his neck.
“Bringing back any memories, Kat?” Kirishima had to speak practically into Bakugou’s ear so the blonde could hear him over everyone else. That doesn’t stop a smile from creeping onto his face, much to Kirishima’s delight.
“Yeah, and it’s going to end the same way, dumbass.”
“Oh really?”
“Yeah, really.”
“Now, we have not one, but TWO first place winners! Both of these costumes were phenomenal, and they tied with 42 votes each. Red Riot and Dynamight, please come to the stage!” A spotlight hits both the boys as the crowd erupts, screaming and cheering. They make their way onto stage, Kirishima grinning and high fiving people while Bakugou pouted, mumbling something about not winning.
They both get medals placed around their neck, Kirishima slinging himself around Bakugou’s shoulders.
“C’mon Kat, you can’t even smile for the picture?”
“I was supposed to win, Shitty Hair.”
“You’re such a sore loser.”
-------
They found themselves sitting in the backyard after the contest. There weren’t many people outside, and so they were able to escape the noise.
“Man, Yoshi’s house is HUGE! The fact that he was able to even fit a stage in there is incredible.” Kirishima had somehow worked his way into Bakugou’s lab as they sat on a couch outside, running his fingers on the detailing along the top of Bakugou’s costume as the blonde held him.
“Kir, do you feel okay? You’re acting...a little weird.”
“I think I drank something I shouldn’t have. But it tasted so good. I think I’m a little drunk, Bakugou,” Kirishima hiccupped, laying his head on Bakugou’s shoulder.
“God, what the hell am I going to do with you?”
“You could kiss me. I want to kiss you. Can we kiss, Kat?” Kirishima sits up, not waiting for a response before pressing his lips to Bakugou’s quickly.
“What happened to being in public?”
“You’re so cute that I don’t care, Katsukiiii,” Kirishima giggles, kissing Bakugou again.
“You’re such a dork, Kir.”
“I don’t hear you complaining.”
